  1. Chief support coming out when the main event is expected. Classic boxing.
  2. Anyone else clucking for a line after reading all of this?
  3. The rumour is it was a very unhappy dressing room under Dyche, and that would make sense given their recent upturn in form.
  4. Are you seriously suggesting that a fan that has run on the pitch to celebrate his teams win should be stamped on by an opposition player? That's quite a world you'd be happy living in.
  5. Visited Caper and Cure in Stokes Croft last week and it was one of the best meals I've had in Bristol for a few years, I reckon. Very unfussy and unpretentious venue, as you'd expect with it being in Stokes Croft. But the food was really sublime and cooked to perfection. Had a couple of oysters and Padron peppers to begin with. The octopus starter was the best octopus I've ever tasted (sorry, Gambas), the lamp main was again a really lovely dish full of fresh flavours, and the banoffee donut dessert hit the sweet spot. I'd rate it slightly above Box-E (which has a Michelin Bib Gourmand) and it was a bit cheaper. caper and cure
  6. Well, put it like this...in many big cities, including Bristol and London, you can get coke delivered to your door quicker than the police or an ambulance may turn up if you dialed 999. And that is in no way an exaggeration.
  7. LJ hardly played for them and McAllister is a Man United fan from Glasgow. I doubt they'll care too much. Must have been interesting following Hibs in the 80s, they had a pretty renowned set of troublemakers!
  8. Oh really?! I did tell you otherwise (after you posted the above, granted) ?
  9. Yeah, they're going to have to completely rebuild for next season. Surely Jones will be off too. Thought we should've taken at least 4pts off them this season tbh, and would be disappointed if we don't finish above them next season.
  10. Wells has much wider value to the squad. The young players properly look up to him and he's a great influence on them. You have been able to see it most matchdays this season as he leads the subs warm-up during the game on the sidelines.
  11. Couple of points I picked up that haven't been mentioned yet, I don't think: - We had player unavailability due to injuries for a total of approx. 250 days last season, that's down to around 75 days this season. So undoubted progress on that front. - When talking about success of Luton he said something along the lines of "they have equality in their wage bill, which we don't have yet". Thought that was a really revealing comment and hints at some of the dressing room issues he inherited in that first season. Also points to more financial mismanagement under Ashton. Must admit I've been pretty disinterested these last few months, but that interview was encouraging, and Nige sounded very confident we'll be better next season. Definitely going to be interest/offers for Antoine though.
  12. I think this just shows again how vital it is for us that the transfer window returns to some sort of normality this summer. Otherwise, it's going to be very difficult for Pearson to make the kind of changes required to improve us significantly in time for the start of next season.
  13. Very sad. Single vehicle crash quite late at night, and he is on record as saying he had problems with alcohol addiction. You have no wonder, but whatever happened extremely sad.
  14. He was absolutely superb today. I did speak to a 'Set insider of sorts today though, and asked him if Abell might be in for an England call-up this summer, and his very specific answer was "no". But new Head coach, not sure how that could be definitive at this stage, but he was adamant Abell was not fancied by England at all. Very mature innings today though. ?
  15. Only my personal evidence from today, but have only overheard conversations about City (from 'Set fans obviously) bit on Man City and Liverpool and that's it. No gas chat whatsoever
  16. Was already approached by Posh after Ferguson left, but not interested apparently. I suppose there's a reasonable case to be made that Hibs is a bigger job. Bigger fanbase, more chance of silverware, and European football.
  17. Very comfortable for Bivol. He fought smart and disciplined. Canelo's footwork wasn't good enough, but even when he got on the inside Bivol was the stronger fighter. Judges all had Bivol by two, but it was probably a bit wider than that. Not sure a rematch is needed but expect we'll see one.
  18. Anyone else heading down to day two of Glos v Somerset this Friday? Pizza in The Sportsman for lunch and BYO booze ?
  19. We're in English asparagus season now. Try and get some nice big, chunky asparagus. A lot of the best stuff is grown in Kent. Wash, click, and boil for 3 minutes. Pack of parma ham usually has 5 slices. Cut each slice in half and wrap a piece around each spear of asparagus. For the thinner spears, you could wrap 2 in one piece of ham. Brush each spear and ham with olive oil, all over. Place on a foil tray and season with salt and pepper. Put on the bbq (assuming 200-210 c) for 5-6 mins for a tasty snack/side.
  20. Let's hope they both make it, couple of bad-ass names.
  21. I dunno if having Kane would've helped. Man City's style of play doesn't need an out and out striker. Kane would completely change the way they play, possibly to their detriment. Everyone said Lukaka would be a success at Chelsea as he was "the missing piece of the jigsaw" and look how that's turned out.
  22. True. But Liverpool have better pedigree in this competition than Man City. They win European trophies too, and player for player, I believe they are better than Real. All Real's big successes this season have come at the Bernabeu, can they do it in Paris? Gonna be a a cracker but Liverpool favourites for me.
