  1. It's synonymous with Bradford City. I think there's also a Scottish side that play in those colours. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Bradford_City/Bradford_City.htm
  2. We were Red with blue shorts and socks in 1894 when we were Bristol Southend. I'm probably in the minority, but I'd love us to play in red, white and blue, with yellow and claret trim. It would cover the colours of Bedminster, Bristol Southend and when we became Bristol City. Those colours always look smart to me. So many teams play in just red and white. The kits of Barcelona, Crystal Palace, Genoa and Bologna...love em. I do like the retro Subbuteo t shirt in stock. I'm guessing they've done their due diligence and realise they have to pay a licence fee to use the Subbuteo brand name and logo. I found this out when the commercial department at FGR, enquired whether I could supply FGR Subbuteo teams for their shop. https://shop.bristol-sport.co.uk/bcfc/bcfclifestyle/mens-lifestyle/tops-polos/2152_bristol-city-subbuteo-red-tee-adult.html
  3. You just know someone will get that tattooed across their chest or back
  4. Looks embroidered to me... https://shop.bristol-sport.co.uk//bcfc/kit/all-football-kit/view-all-kit/2962_2324-bristol-city-third-shirt-adult.html

  6. Why do you see it that way? It's obvious some people on the forum are able to obtain knowledge regarding the club or football in general, that others aren't. Surely it's nice that people are willing to share? It makes for an interesting forum and sometimes puts meat on the bones of a story. If the signing wasn't announced today as some were thinking...then people would be asking why and coming to all sorts of conclusions. Now we know it's down to Derby intervening. I find it weird that some people think this is narcissistic. Tbh...it makes those who think that way, seem jealous that they aren't privacy to any information. All a bit playground. As for not all info being divulged...I understand that. It's obvious media and press read this forum and use info in their articles. So some things need not to be made public.
  7. A bit before my childhood, but so much is the same. We had a PE teacher just like that.
  8. Exactly that...he may trust him to report back honestly what he sees and hears...but how can you trust him to make the right footballing decisions, if he has no experience in that field? Basically all those Millions spent, have been a very expensive long 'University Course' in how to run a football business. Eventually they may have just graduated in recent years.
  9. Non of them football club related though. Same with Lansdown. Made good decisions in his financial business, but awful imo, at the Club. Who in their right mind would employ a son with no experience what so ever, to make football decisions at board level?
  10. It again underlines my view on owners making decisions. Their experience and decision making will be learnt from the business they've run before. In our case...Hargreaves Lansdown. What knowledge from that business, would be judged worthy, in making the right footballing decision on who's the right manager or CEO to run your club? I look at the decision made re Ashton...even after years of running a football club, and experience gained from making poor or good decisions, and learning from those decisions, our owner imo, still made a massive error in his judgement in employing him. As in the article...the Grimsby owner says he won't interfere in the changing room, training ground etc...that's great in principle...but only if you have made the right decision on employing them and your judgement is accurate. Leave someone to their own devises like Ashton, thinking you've made the right decision, you end up in a right mess...surprising when you consider the financial background experience of the owner. As an owner with no experience in making football related decisions on running a club, imo, it makes more sense to employ a DOF that overseas employing manager and CEO for you. Someone with knowledge and experience in doing that.
  11. It's an interesting read and something that fans and public should take on board when understanding how decisions are made. What crosses my mind often when it comes to football club owners making decisions, is what qualifications or experience in running a football club do these owners have, in knowing who the right manager or CEO is to employ? And who's right for your club? As an owner with no experience, how is it possible to make the right decision? Surely as an owner, it would be sensible to employ an ' expert' in the field to make those decisions for you! An owner employs a manager and CEO and they choose the staff to help them...based on their football nouse. So why would an owner with no football experience think they know enough to judge who would be the right manager... It's something I've related to us, our owner and board in the past.
  12. I really hope he can sort out Zac Vyners arthritis in his fingers before the season starts. Going by his Instagram him and Jay DaSilva have some serious issues with that crippling desease.
  13. Indeed it was...sampled and repeated throughout the song.
  14. For those who've never seen it...a classic ' episode '...
  15. Pretty much the same as me...never watched the programme, but loved the theme tune. I also remember the Rupert Bear theme tune. When I think back to children's TV programmes, so many had catchy theme tunes that I can still remember. Great memories. Another that I used to watch in the 70s as a kid.
  16. A tune that stuck in my head for years...brings back fond memories ?
  17. Listening now...great interview and bringing back some fond memories ?
  18. Maybe it is a Bristol 'Thing'...when you look at the size of the City and catchment area, with various owners and backing, what sport in the area has really shone in history? Football, Rugby and Cricket has all been very very average.
  19. I was massively into this band during the 80s...for some reason I had an obsession with bands from OZ. One of the best combinations of Sax and Fretless bass in this song, sooooo 80s...it builds. Giving them a listen again.
  20. Awful mate...avoid. It's the sort of food you would make yourself at home mid week. And as for the Greek Village at the bottom of the street...I always thought the coriander tasted weird... Raided after they were found to have hooked up to the mains via a street light outside and growing weed in the loft...over 300 plants...they've literally done a runner ??
  21. The Zen is fantastic...really authentic. I used to go there under its previous owner, where the Chef was from Laos. Which was even better. The owner was a bit like Basil Fawlty...who was in a relationship with the chef. He'd come to the table calm and eloquent, but as soon as he went into the kitchen he'd start shouting at the chef, arguements ensued, pots could be heard falling...then he'd Swan out again like no one could hear ?? The food was awesome and the entertainment value was just as good. They used to serve a Gewurtztraminer that was to die for ...never been able to find it since sadly. The Siam Thai in Sodbury has been going for years and the food has been generally good. However yesterday I was told it now had a recent 1/5 hygiene rating ?? which I've checked and sadly true. Inspection report doesn't read well. https://ratings.food.gov.uk/business/97116
  22. Do you mean Zen Thai in cheddar? Bottom of the street on the left. If so...I concur...it's fantastic and authentic.
  23. Whilst that maybe true recently...look at the stats in the link I put up earlier in reply to fevs.
  24. It's only irritating if you view it that way. You could also put a table up saying... Those who haven't been promoted since 3 points for a win. Or... Those who haven't been promoted since play offs were introduced. Let's be honest...we all know football didn't start when the Prem was introduced. However...with the money in it, and parachute payments...it's seen as harder to compete against those teams ( our own manager has said that ). So anyone who has achieved it with those payments has done well. The list shows we are a bigger fish in a small pond of teams that haven't achieved it yet. As @IAmNick also observes and explains well.
