  1. Ok we all get it...kinnel...why so much hostility over a post about the Prem? Not aimed at you...but in general. We all know football existed before the Prem. No one is saying it's not. The OP is purely about those who haven't made the top division since it became the Prem. Just see it as that...?
  2. Im not disagreeing with that. Look at the data link I posted up further up the post. It shows how hard it is for teams to stay in the Prem once promoted. This is purely about who hasn't been promoted into it yet. Not how long you stay in it. It's fair to say when you look at that list we are arguably the strongest overall apart from Preston not to have made it.
  3. Who knows...using one team against another is just one example. You might enjoy this... https://totalfootballanalysis.com/article/how-difficult-is-it-to-climb-through-the-english-football-league-system
  4. By comparing ourselves with the other teams who haven't achieved it, and those lesser ones who have.
  5. No one has mentioned winning the top division Dave We are discussing gaining promotion to it. I believe it's harder to stay in it once you've achieved promotion than before though.
  6. It's not twisted...it's common sense. Yes...imo, getting into the Prem with no parachute payments, is a greater achievement, than doing it into the old Div 1.
  7. As I pointed out, like you've observed...it's harder to get into the Prem than the old Div 1. So arguably it's an even worse scenario, when you look how many teams have made the Prem without parachute payments.
  8. Nobody said it did or we haven't. The subject is Prem league...not top flight ever. ? It's arguably worse...Div 1 was easier to get into, compared to the Prem, it's money, and parachute payments. Any team getting into the Prem these days without any of that has achieved greater imo.
  9. ...it's pretty grim when you see it in black and white. Tick Luton off now.
  10. Some interesting stats on here. Leicester relegated with the highest wages in Prem history.

  12. Leicester Leeds Southampton Boro Coventry Blackburn Sunderland Millwall WBA Swansea Watford Preston Norwich Bristol City Hull Stoke Birmingham Huddersfield Rotherham QPR Cardiff Plymouth Ipswich Sheff Wed/Barnsley When you read it in black and white, it certainly looks a lot stronger on paper.
  13. I notice Steve Cotterill has ' released' Burt as head of recruitment at Shrewsbury...after 3 years. Having worked with him here and Forest. When speaking to Burt and SoD whilst watching FGR in the past, I found them both fascinating characters. Burt definitely liked to work with certain Agents, and would sometimes dismiss players if they weren't with Agents or Agencies he preferred. You can make of that what you will...but I found at the time it was putting the Club at a certain disadvantage. Imo...he's got an eye for lower league players.
  14. On going from previous problems. Asked if Semenyo picked up the injury in training, O’Neil added: “It’s a complicated one. I think it’s been ongoing for a little while. “Obviously the fact we got to 39 points and that he was managing to get through stuff for us, as he was. “It’s important that we took the extra time that we had to try and get him ready for as early next season as we can.”

    Top 3 up?

I'd like to see 4 up and 4 down. Top 3 automatically go up. Bottom 3 automatically come down. Then a one off game between 4th from bottom against 4th from top. Winner either stays up or gets promoted.
  16. Running to every away match might need some extensive training, but there are some private coaches available...? https://we-run.co.uk/find-a-running-coach/
  17. The amount of football fans you can speak to who haven't a clue about FFP is staggering. This forum is far from the ' average' football fan imo. So many still think owners can just spend regardless.
  18. A classic pop tune that ticks nearly every box when making a ' hit'. Could be Coldplay or Snow Patrol on any other day. How many artists go off on their own trying to be 'artistic'...'alternative'...then come back to the basic ' hit formula'...
  19. Yeah...I get what you're saying. I just find in the cold light of day, its all a bit odd. It's pure instinct to show emotion. I guess I'm getting old...back in the day id be in the ' mosh' pit...now I stand in front of the sound monitor thinking wtf is going on in front of me. Same emotions. I've answered my own thoughts ???
  20. Pitch celebrations are obviously a knee jerk reaction to winning an important game. It's funny when you think about it. The winning team runs inside...the fans run on to the pitch celebrating. Now what do they do? It's sort of like when your daughter gets married, you get pissed and end up on the dance floor dad dancing and celebrating. At the time it seemed the right thing to do...on watching back video evidence, it's the most embarrassing thing you've done. ?? Just celebrate with your mates in the stand then head down the pub for a few..surely?
  21. That's how I see it as well. Imo...next season will be one of the strongest Championships in a long time. It's going to be harder to make the top 6 imo. We've been improving and playing some good football this season. We will undoubtedly improve again and become stronger...however...I think we will need to improve to even keep mid table. Hopefully we have a season where other teams under achieve. Imo...mid table on paper would be a respectable. Top 6 reliant on us over achieving and others under achieving. I just hope if the season does play out how I feel it might, that fans don't see us as not improving. Sadly the top 6 hope has been dangled again recently in NPs interview. As we've seen before in previous seasons...if it's mentioned that their is belief we have the ability for top 6, it's used against them if they don't achieve it.
  22. Stunner RR...she would be welcome to my ' Broadsword ' ???
  23. My late father always used to joke that anything past Gloucester was considered the 'North'...however this is quite incredible. ?
  24. ....head the end of season stats.
