  1. My Dad also sang it after a win. Good memories.
  2. What I thought was so thoughtful, was that he lifted his walker over the white line so as not to spoil them. Different gravy that generation.
  3. Hopefully with a bit of traction it could happen. Would definitely have a lump in my throat singing it, thinking of dad and our times together at the ground.
  4. I agree...it's traditional, and something that could unite young and old. I always think of my late father when I hear it. I should imagine it's the same for others who have lost loved ones that were fellow reds. It would be great to get it as our anthem and sung before all games. Bit of passion behind it and in memory of ones who are no longer there supporting.
  5. Yes mate...it could be changed to suit. It would be nice if this got going and we made it our own.
  6. I really believe we could make that song our own. I can imagine the crowd singing it as one. Gas have one, West Ham, Liverpool etc. etc. We need one imo. It's relevant...and the 'Blue' bit could be aimed at the Gas. Changed to ' what if I'd been Blue'. When the red, red, Robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along, along There'll be no more sobbing When he starts throbbing, his old sweet song Oh, wake up, wake up you sleepy head Get up, get up, get out of bed Cheer up, cheer up, the sun is red Live, love, laugh and be happy What if I've been blue? Now I'm walking through fields of flowers Rain may glisten but still I listen for hours and hours I'm just a kid again doing what I did again, singing a song When the red, red, Robin comes bob, bob, bobbin' along
  7. Not many people know this, but Ed Hollis brother of Mark, genius ( Talk Talk ) was their manager. He wrote this about his brother. Any excuse to share
  8. Apologies...I missed this thread.
  9. There's nothing to stop him giving honest opinions though. Done in a way that we could read between the lines. He's an intelligent bloke.
  10. ...it crossed my mind as to whether NP will be used as a pundit on any channel, covering our next match against Leicester. I really hope he is...and let's a few home truths out.
  11. Luckily for City, I feel many will renew season tickets regardless. Many fans live in hope, don't want to lose their seat, FOMO, just in case someone else is appointed. Others it's just a ritual they do regardless, as the football is just part of the day out.
  12. The terms 'Emotions'...' Behaviors'...' Environments' etc, that Manning just spews at every opportunity, are straight out of the football coaching manuals. As are other various terminologies he spews. If you actually wanted to understand the meanings RR, it's very simple...Google is your friend. There are numerous accounts on the subject. Here's a simple one for you. https://learn.englandfootball.com/articles/resources/2023/How-to-help-players-manage-their-behaviours-and-emotions
  13. ' we exist to inspire' ....**** me
  14. The problem is...the players can't work it out and implement it RR.
  15. I accept what you think based on the past RR...but imo he will change tact if the losses continue and the fans become more vociferous. He can go on a winning streak all he likes, if he does it playing Manningball, then I'd rather stick pins in my eyes. He's boring, his football is boring.
  16. If season tickets are poor, and he continues losing then I can't see it RR. LJ never lost the fans this quickly. Plus he and his family are close to the Lansdowns.
  17. I really don't want to risk having him in charge next season. He'll bring in players over the summer. Does anyone really want to risk playing like this season under him, and then find we need to sack him during next, appoint someone else and start the merry go round again? Get him gone, get someone in at the end of this season, and get a full summer training under him in place. I can't go through this shit again next season.
  18. He was all of those things...he also listened, and was thoughtful, took his time to answer.
  19. I've said this before Dave. It's just words taken from coaching manuals, put into sentences that he thinks fit the reply. I'm sick to death of him. Bores me senseless, and I simply don't trust what he says or what he does match day.
  20. And this is why he's out of touch. How deluded and self important is he. If fans are having to interpret what he's trying to say, then it's borderline narcissistic. Fans don't need coaching terminology. We get it...but just speak in layman's terms. The bloke is an AI robot. I don't believe half the things he says. He says he's not on social media...but he'll know exactly what's being said. He also says he doesn't look at the table...yet knows exactly where other teams are in the league. Full of BS. Can't stand the bloke. He represents everything I hate about football. Bullshit bingo in spades.
  21. That last paragraph screams at me. He's always mentioning ' Emotions'...and how to control them. He says controlling comes with age and experience and time. Yet they want to get rid of the experience and age, and replace with inexperienced and youth for this level.
  22. Jon's had his ******* crayons out again...at least he got the level right https://images.app.goo.gl/vVJA1dFzwcH7xCPo7 https://images.app.goo.gl/S2ndhLQNz4Qv4Tf36
  23. Well it was Luton the other month...they keep mentioning other teams, yet apparently we want to achieve success doing it our own way.
