  1. I don't think that they forget. They just know the reason.
  2. Abomination of a town now. Was better when it was 'the village' that I grew up in.
  3. Could be. And if that's the case, he definitely isn't going to stick around under this regime.
  4. I take your point, but IF the owner is clutching the purse strings then you sometimes have to be creative.
  5. I think it's a very clever signing. Cover for McRorie in the short term, strengthening midfield in the medium to long.
  6. Not talking about transfers. Or a change of manager.
  7. Stick or twist? Twist for me.
  8. Unfortunately, that would only hasten the manager's demise. ?
  9. ****. He wouldn't go "you know where"... ... would he? ?
  10. Yes. That's the worry. When things go badly Lansdown will be in his Ivory Tower. In Guernsey probably.
  11. I hope that you are correct in your feeling. I have doubts. I don't want to see NP move upstairs, because I would rather he stays where he is and is rewarded for the good work that he (and his staff) have done. But if he has to relinquish the reins as manager, I would rather he stay with us. I think his qualities as a person (without wishing to allude to Ashton's 'human being' b*ll*cks) would be a massive loss to our club. Frankly imo, he is the best person we have from top to bottom.
  12. Nothing, admittedly. Apart from Lansdown's form and NP's personality.
  13. I expect Pearson to be gone in a month. And that will be me done.
  14. I have been a big fan of Lucy Bronze, who imo over the duration of the last six to eight years has been consistently the best woman footballer in Europe (that's not to say that there haven't been better players at points in time). So it's sad that she ended up being one of the main reasons that we fell short today. Not just because of the goal, but because she just didn't have the legs to cope with the Spanish onslaught in the first half. I don't even think that they particularly targeted her, but they just found most joy down their left side for that reason. When the dust settles, the FA need to pull their fingers out and extend Weigman's contract for a further two years. And if that's not possible (she may not want to) replace her now. There is little point imo to her taking us to the Euros if she isn't going to lead us in the next World Cup. Now should be the end of the international road, at least with regards major tournaments for the older members of the squad that will not be available in four years time. It is time to build a youthful squad to take that four year journey and put in place a coach that will guide them the entire way (hopefully the one we already have). We don't need to defend the Euros (not to say we shouldn't try to). Imo we need to use it as a rehearsal for a young squad to go one better in four years.
  15. Rookie Manager = "Have a load of cash and buy yourself some toys" Experienced Manager = "Thanks for getting us back on track, but there's no money in the pot" Rinse and repeat. It boils my ****ing p*ss.
  16. He won't back someone that is more popular than him. That's the crux of it, and it's been proven.
  17. Pointless comment. If he hadn't 'chucked away' so much at the wrong times to the wrong people, he might have seen more progress on the pitch.
  18. He was brought in to be a 'maverick' and that's what he will be. He will win us games this season. He will also be anonymous in a lot of them.
