Sounds interesting.  I was intrigued to see how many of the top sportsmen the birth month applied to.  I didn’t hunt around and just chose those ones which didn’t link in with the Matthew effect

It also goes into other factors as to why some people become so successful and goes without saying there are always outliers who are exceptions or others who accept their start point and work harder - it’s the point of it & why it interesting as there are known disadvantages but they can also be used in the right way as an opportunity.

Seen it with August born kids who had to work twice as hard from early on but when they physically & mentally catch up they can overtake their counterparts.

Determination is a key factor but depending on the sport or country; birth date can be a disadvantage to overcome.

This is awkward unless you meant you must conceive Sept to Nov?

Lionel Andrés Messi - Born: 24 June 1987
    Cristiano Ronaldo - Born: 5 February 1985
    Kylian Mbappé - Born: 20 December 1998
    John Atyeo - Born: 7 February 1932
Usain St. Leo Bolt - Born: 21 August 1986
Sir Mo Farah - Born: 23 March 1983
    Roger Federer - Born: 8 August 1981
    Novak Djokovic - Born: 22 May 1987
    Michael Jordan - Born: 17 February 1963
Tyson Luke Fury - Born: 12 August 1988
    Muhammad Ali - Born: 17 January 1942

Theres an interesting book; Outliers by Malcom Gladwell where they explore “the Matthew effect” outcomes based on birth month for the Canadian Hockey team and how being born a certain points can create disadvantages due to cut off dates for age groups when they are kids.

Mine and my sons came in the post on Friday, the key ring sits proudly on my car keys!

Question - Do we still get 10% off store items, and can we do this online or does it have to be at the store itself at the Stadium?

Yes, apparently you just need to flash your city key ring at check out to receive it.

  4. Impressive, he speaks so well in a way you can’t help but believe players will work for him.

Keep the bulk of the squad and I think Kompany will take them straight back up.

I suspect a player like Brownhill will lost stay there for this season and back the project

Do you honestly think he’s away without being told to be away?!  Clearly he’s still not able to train.

No, but should still be in the building ready to start work, maybe they can find some filing for him to do.

His missus posted up on instagram yesterday that they were away together which would explain why he isn’t in the training vids.

Oh right, surely should be reporting for fitness training anyway if on the payroll?

. If Pochettino was English, he'd be a great Southgate replacement.

Southgate will stay because he says the right things for the FA.  England need more but all other possible English managers are probably too young for the job.

Doesn’t it really matter if he isnt English? Still be a great Southgate replacement & soon to be available.

He left Oxford at the same time as Kemar Roofe and IIRC we were told Callum would end up being the better player of the two. Neither have really torn it up though - Roofe did well at Leeds to start with, went to Anderlecht and did OK but seems to have plateaued a bit at Rangers.

He`s had the better career out of the two though I would say.

Yeah, just a bit - played europa cup final last month

  10. I don’t like it at all. When you see the chevrons it gets worse. Bloody wingtip collars whatever next.

Feels like cheesy idea from a corporate  marketing meeting that got far more traction than it deserved.

Too old fashioned and gets no social media traction or sales

Can still be done well & social media is basically modern day chip wrapper, so who cares if get a few less likes.

  12. Time to move on, he hasn't done it consistently yet for us, so the law of averages suggest he isn't likely to either. Maybe a useful squad player on lower wage but he should really test his value with other clubs, international, good age lots of champ experience should get plenty of interest & IMO he could do with the fresh start.

Much more interesting to see new players come in who may be able to take us forward

Really nice guy & great with the young fans but believe it would just be better for all parties to move on.

I think there are a fair few managers who would have got relegated with this squad to be fair.

Very good point, I’ve felt apathetic about Nige recently but credit where it’s due, job done for this season, but really need to see us push on next.

Today was really poor but thinking the answer is PASSION is embarrassing.

We really are in a poor place, we were outplayed first half but the bottom team & although there was an improvement second half it looked like a League One game.

This summer is going to be tough but at the moment I’m just pleased I only have to watch 2 more games.

All well & good but what happens next season?  As it stands it looks like we’re in for more of the same.

    What a delightful prospect.

Large credit goes to Atkinson as well. He may be our best centre half from what I’ve seen this season. And I’m a big fan of Kalas, Baker and Klose! On paper, it’s bizarre how much we’ve struggled in defence.

An inform & fully fit Atkinson like we saw the beginning of the season is something to look forward to, I believe he’ll be a really important player next season after 1st champ season completed.
