Marti will be giving them a right bolloxing today and tomorrow and thus, they will want to at least do something to make it up to him.
  3. On the other hand, Saints went and won at WBA last night.
  4. This link died for me immediately after that goal and won't come back up.
  5. It appears to me the team are in a 4-4-2 formation today. If so; is this due to the oppos, or is LM trying something new?
  6. I remember when the League of Wales was formed. Many fans rang 606 complaining the Secretary (Alan Williams?) of the LoW was demanding the four Welsh clubs left the EFL to join the LoW. When Newport were relegated he demanded they join it rather than the English Conference. When the turned down the "offer" he refused to let them play in Wales and their first home games were played at Gloucester.
  7. To compensate for this Berwick Rangers compete in the Scottish system. Berwick, is a town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, 2+1⁄2 mi (4 km) south of the Anglo-Scottish border.

    Ipswich away

The pub outside the station welcomes visiting fans.
  9. For those unable to attend today; https://sports-10.com/bristol-city-v-qpr/ should be broadcasting live. One downside against Leeds and Soton, the commentators were supporters of those teams.
  10. In 2000 a similar scheme was proposed as "There's really only two teams in Scotland, Holland and Portugal etc". They even got as far as naming it the Atlantic League, but UEFA rejected it the following year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_League_(football) Most recently Irish and Scandinavian clubs would like to join such a set up.

    Roy Hodgson.

No; Greatest Hits. I stopped listening to Talksport when their Studio Experts were discussing Chris Garland. "He was always a Chelsea player and at then of his career, he moved to Bristol City".

    Roy Hodgson.

I know football is heartless, but on the radio they've just announced who is lined up by Palace to replace Roy "As he may be losing his job".
  15. Ah but 54/55 was a promo season and the results for the first half of that season (Autumn 54) were quite good. P25 W16 D6 L3 F43 A 19. 9 clean sheets. As for 53-54 City were 3rd W36, D 10 L5 F88 A66
  16. Thanks for pointing this out. Middlesbrough 4th - 75 pts and Sunderland 6th - 69 pts.
  17. 1982 City dropped to Div 4; the final game was home to Chester, the only team beneath them. The attendance was 3,200, the 200 were travelling Chester fans. Two years later in 1984; An off pitch row erupted when City's adverts proclaimed them to be Bristol's top club. The directors at Eastville pointed out Rovers were in a higher division. The riposte from Ashton Gate was that the word was club not team! The top scorer that season was Alan Crawford who averaged a goal every two games and passed the twenty goal mark. City had to send some of their own stewards to Chester on the final day of the season to help them cope with the massive influx of visiting supporters. They saw City promoted after a 2-1 win. Not only was the team back in the third division, but the bank account was in the black!
  18. OK since the 2015 promotion, the 6th placed teams in this division have achieved 2016 - 74pts, 2017 - 80pts, 2018 - 75 pts, 2019 - 74pts, 2020 - 70pts, 2021 - 77pts, 2022 - 75 pts and last season - 77pts.
  19. Meanwhile on their forum; That is dreadful. Well I suppose the run had to come to an end some time but this is a surrender.
  20. 1979 City 0 Saints 1, in the Division 1 days. 20011, 1-2 in the Zenit Data Cup and 2003 0-3 in the league Cup https://www.11v11.com/teams/bristol-city/tab/opposingTeams/opposition/Southampton/
  21. On their forum, they don't appear tto think anything wrong with the goal, just moaning about their players.
  22. Both sets of players appear to need "just one touch more" when shooting or passing.
  23. It was static, so I shut and reopened and it's OK now, thanks.
