It appears to me the team are in a 4-4-2 formation today. If so; is this due to the oppos, or is LM trying something new? -
I remember when the League of Wales was formed. Many fans rang 606 complaining the Secretary (Alan Williams?) of the LoW was demanding the four Welsh clubs left the EFL to join the LoW. When Newport were relegated he demanded they join it rather than the English Conference. When the turned down the "offer" he refused to let them play in Wales and their first home games were played at Gloucester.

To compensate for this Berwick Rangers compete in the Scottish system. Berwick, is a town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, 2+1⁄2 mi (4 km) south of the Anglo-Scottish border.

For those unable to attend today; https://sports-10.com/bristol-city-v-qpr/ should be broadcasting live. One downside against Leeds and Soton, the commentators were supporters of those teams. -
In 2000 a similar scheme was proposed as "There's really only two teams in Scotland, Holland and Portugal etc". They even got as far as naming it the Atlantic League, but UEFA rejected it the following year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_League_(football) Most recently Irish and Scandinavian clubs would like to join such a set up.

1982 City dropped to Div 4; the final game was home to Chester, the only team beneath them. The attendance was 3,200, the 200 were travelling Chester fans. Two years later in 1984; An off pitch row erupted when City's adverts proclaimed them to be Bristol's top club. The directors at Eastville pointed out Rovers were in a higher division. The riposte from Ashton Gate was that the word was club not team! The top scorer that season was Alan Crawford who averaged a goal every two games and passed the twenty goal mark. City had to send some of their own stewards to Chester on the final day of the season to help them cope with the massive influx of visiting supporters. They saw City promoted after a 2-1 win. Not only was the team back in the third division, but the bank account was in the black! -
