We have a fantastic core support, it is the one thing we have which the S*** despise. Without our support there is no BRFC. I must admit when Waq & Nani rolled into town I thought the future would be rosy; unfortunately, what they meant by "slow evolution" is they would buy the club and its debt and then moth ball it until they can move it on at a profit, based on possible potential. That’s bollocks actually, I despise nearly everything about their club not just their 5000 or so ‘die hards’.

There is/was a flag/banner with ‘Ikea took the Tote End’...can’t remember whether it was a Swedish Flag or just on a plain background.

Indeed; you only have to look at their away following to see that actually they are the best supported club in Bristol and people only ever come to Ashton Gate after being locked out at The Memorial Ground. In actual fact I'm only posting on here because I have been banned by Gaschat.
In other news Bristol Rovers' new club song has been announced:
I think ‘I know it’s over’ may be more appropriate.
Edit: or maybe ‘I started something I couldn’t finish’

Everyone knew this would happen even the gasheads, that's why they were so desperate to get the UWE.
As Much as the purists would love it to be otherwise, it's not all about the football for the 21st century fan it's about "the event" and that's where the stadium has allowed us to move streets ahead of the Gas.
I expect another factor in them choosing AG is that they get to spend time during their kids football match chatting to a Saghead on the touch line and they’ve probably thought “like **** am I letting my kids sit in a tent with you Sags on a Saturday afternoon”.
We’ve got the best of both Worlds at AG, a fantastic stadium with over a century of history. With a lot of people a quirky kit and a nickname which could suggest to outsiders that you stink doesn’t really cut it. Keep up the good work Wally and co.

The only response they could come up with is “but you’ve got such a crap away following” anyone have any statistics to prove we have a larger following so I can shut these clowns up?
We average more away support than them every season for as long as I can remember, that’s a fact. It’s published each year in various football related websites.
You could trawl the Internet yourself looking for statistics but the next time they claim to have better away support than us why don’t you say to them “prove it”....they cant.
I remember someone posted a similar question on Slagchat asking for proof of Rovers superior away support so he could go back to his ‘shithead’ mates and show them. Not one statistic to back up their claim, in fact they all did their best to sidestep the question completely and change the subject to Dean Windass and 1982
Sorry but your mates are standard deluded Sagheads. If they try and tell you our numbers are only bigger because they visit smaller L1 and L2 grounds just remind them that they rarely sell out their allocations in those grounds either.

From the CCMB but probably the most deluded thing I have ever seen....
Its worth knowing a bit of the background over there. Rovers fans are by far the more knowledgeable and longer serving set of fans. They've been through much leaner times, but still turn out in big numbers home and away.
The Wurzels (lovingly named the 'Shit Heads' from the Rovers fans) are the more Sky TV loving, pseudo middle class types whereas the Gas Heads (as they're called by the Shit Heads') are the more down to earth, passionate and loyal type of fan.
Rovers have unfortunately been in the lower leagues for longer, but will absolutely dwarf the attendances of the Shit Heads when the roles are reversed.
Which I'm certain will be in the next few seasons come to think of it...
Don't forget that football ALWAYS goes in cyclesSo this poster is saying that Rovers fans will only turn up in huge numbers if their team is doing well...doesn’t sound very loyal to me. Although you’d expect that logic from a thick Cardiff fan.
Rovers have been higher than us and their attendances have never dwarfed ours.
Big numbers home and away? 7k at home last week 2-300 at Bradford, Bury and Rochdale and this at Scunthorpe....
What a dick!

Funny because, for such an amazing unique football club you’d think more people in the City they play in would want to support them instead of the pathetic attendances they’ve always had.

From SU forum: the sky pundits and their insincere fickle nonsense at the end "this Bristol City side won't go away". Oh piss off! We've battered them. They've created sod all until we had a man sent off. We've outplayed them, then hit the woodwork 4 times.
Smarmy ******* Lee Johnson Bristol City bastards with sky pundits rimming them. Not Browny and Andrews in the studio. Those insincere commentators. We were the much better side. They've not done owt to deserve to win this. Their substitutions were shite, Djuric is dire, Reid offered nothing and they can all **** off.

Let's get this deleted. Don't want Ted sh** on here. They'll only obsess about us even more on their obsessed with Rovers thread or whatever they call it? The only interest I have in the Teds is watching God Dean Windass scoring against them. Apart from that they can carry on kissing the midgets ass that they all wanted sacked last year. 82 shithead lady gardensYes, how embarrassing for us....losing 1-0 in a Championship Play Off Final. It could be worse, imagine how humiliating it would be to get relegated from the entire Football League after losing 1-0 at home against a team wearing your kit....7 days after going off in your pants whilst celebrating staying up.
Dick.
Thank God I'm a City fan.

I see Henbury plum is at it again.
Some joker posted on facebook that they would sell their City v Man Utd ticket for £1,000,000 (that's ONE MILLION POUNDS) and numbnuts started a thread criticising City fans saying they would never do that as they're 'faithful and true' (unless they're playing sh1t when they don't bother). He fell for a blatant wind up! Thick prat.
Is the guy ill or just very, very stupid to be that gullible? I understand delusion but this is off the scale IMHO. Pillock!
Ha, that’s brilliant.

Really? I didn't realise that they missed the big one hundred.
Their accounts say 1883 and I presumed that this referred to both their foundation and attaining league status. Very happy to be corrected!
They joined the league about 20 years after us. I think it’s was 1920 or 1921?
So yeah, they only managed something like 94 seasons of League football before that hilarious day in 2014.
We’re the only Bristol club with over 100 consecutive seasons of League football under our belts. Rovers have got 97 more years before they can reach that particular landmark.
Tick tock.

That's what he's basically saying.
He also knows that in the mind of your average Sag he can get away with murder as long as he tells them what amazing supporters he thinks they are.
They lap it up of course.
Meanwhile this kind of public 'back me or sack me' move puts more pressure on the owners and deflects the blame from him and the playing side shifting it towards the boardroom. Maybe he does feel let down, if I was the Al Qadis I'd be furious if he was suggesting it on the radio.
Hilarious.

Even more shocking is that they haven't even bothered to take a picture of over a dozen of their alleged first team players.
If they cut any more corners their pitch would be circular.I was thinking this.
How difficult would it be to take a couple of photographs? they're supposed to be a Professional Football Club.
The only explanation I can think of is that the players without photos have asked not to be identified on the Internet as Rovers players.

According to the BBC Sport pre-match analysis we hadn't scored against Hull at their place since early 2000's (I can't find the actual article now), but I thought BoomBoom scored with an overhead kick up there in 2007/08 campaign under GJ?
That goal was at Ashton Gate.

To be fair to the gash, had 1,300 at Blackburn today. Decent following
Novelty value of visiting a big ground they haven’t been to for 25 years, exactly like their trip to Wolves. Every lower league club has a ‘decent’ following for those matches. When they went to Scunthorpe, Bury, Bradford and Rochdale Gasheads weren’t so interested.
2 hours ago, View from the Dolman said:He's now deleted the tweet...
Yes.
Probably because a load of Gasheads decided the only way they could react to that tweet was to accuse Matthias Kurth of sexually abusing children.
What a bunch of crybaby pricks they are. I’m sure that’s another reason why they are so apparently admired all over the country.
With our popular Goal gifs, local media taking the piss and former City players rubbing it in, Twitter isn’t a very happy place for them at the moment.
