To be fair, he is correct.

On a horrible losing run, poor away form all season and nigh on 1,000 fans travelling a few hundred miles north.

The novelty of visiting Ewood Park is the reason they’re taking 1000...and in that respect, once again, they are no better than anyone else. How was our away form (or just form in general) when we took 2500 to Villa Park on a Tuesday night earlier this year? Same with our trip to Newcastle. Yet I think we only took about 800 to Derby (*edit 889) around the same time...a ground we have played at quite a few times.

Give them an away trip to a ground they often visit and all of a sudden their ‘amazing’ travelling support can’t be arsed.

I'm pretty drunk here, and I saw that someone mentioned what the hell do the gas mean when they say FTG.

They don’t say ‘FTG’, whenever anything from their forum is quoted on here the OTIB autocorrect changes the U for an F.

This does mean that it appears that Sagheads sign off their deluded ramblings with a ‘FTG’.....however that’s just for the benefit of OTIB, in reality it would’ve been a U, not an F.

A little glance on their forum gives a thread suggesting what they can do to improve things until January - **** knows what they think will happen then. I guess that’s how long they think it will take Wally to find his wallet

On another, there’s a suggestion that it’s difficult for them to attract players from northern clubs as houses are far more expensive in Bristol

Yes, that’s right...it’s got nothing to do with the fact they play in a tented Village in front of less than 9000 fans every other week. It’s all the housing markets fault :rofl2br:

God knows how we manage to get players to sign for us. Look at the rise in house prices around Ashton and Southville over the last few years. **** me!

Maybe Wally and co should offer potential new players a decent wage?

    Amateurs.

I see the tramp Sinclair got booked for diving today.

I don`t know if it was by the ref during the match or by the security guard round the back of McDonalds on his way home though.

Hopefully their hypocrite fans will be just as scathing about their own players ‘cheating’ as they were about Bailey Wright a few weeks ago.

I doubt it of course, it’ll be someone else to blame.

    Yeah, ‘happy days’....d1ck.

Nope. It did happen. TBF a lot of the older ones stopped it going on too long.

By all accounts it was sung late in the game when home fans were leaving the ground whilst their team were losing.

”Is there a fire drill” is often sung at other grounds in the same situation. It’s possible that some of their fans are just thick and, maybe like the ‘Auschwitz Gas’ fella, don’t have the brain capacity to think about their surroundings when doing this stuff.

If I remember correctly, the chant at Bradford was heavily criticised on their forum.

Why would you want a photo by the entrance to Auschwitz? Let alone holding your clubs flag? I’d sincerely hope that he wasn’t unaware of the significance of the place.

If that’s the same photo that was posted on here a few years ago, it was put on Facebook with the tagline ‘Auschwitz Gas’.

Not the cleverest choice of words.

The ability of their fans to cause embarrassment is not just limited to the Mem ... could be that they are about to claim squatters' rights?

    Idiots.

God knows what the Gloucester City fans think of them turning up with that?

I don't want to quote all of @havanatopia 's post, but he raises some good points. Let's face it, as much as we are all pleased to see the extra bums on seats, it's the additional non match day revenue that will see the stadium prove it's worth and the Rovers board will see it that way too.

UWE would bring in events due to its location and the smaller size might make it more attractive for some businesses.

I am not sure they would achieve those 15k average gates, though I could see an initial jump from curiosity which might be sustained with any success, they might even finally attrct those students they keep banging on about.

However I don't think a rebuild of the mem has anywhere near the same potential for extra draw, it's cramped and not well positioned.

UWE is a great location for a modern stadium, good road links, Parkway close by, Englands 7th (?) biggest City on its doorstep along with a shit load of students. For those reasons I cannot believe that it won’t get built, either by the Al Qs or new owners who can see the ££ signs. It’s been hilarious watching the meltdown but I don’t think it’ll last.

As for their crowds, they will obviously increase, definitely in the short term. Not only Gasheads ‘loyal and true’ who it appears will only show up if there’s a nice comfy seat to sit on but also away support. Even out of town, soulless bowls have a novelty factor for supporters of opposition clubs who want to see a new ground.

Just like their predictions a few years ago of full houses every week if they were ever to reach League 1 and selling out away allocations for every game in the 3rd tier, guaranteed 15k-20k averages every year in a new stadium is load of bollocks. If they do well in the UWE their plastics will hang about and keep crowds at the 15k Mark (or higher depending on how well they do)...stagnate in L1 and they’ll soon be back to 8k home fans once the novelty wears off.

We’re the same, just with a few thousand more ‘die-hards’.

If they rebuild the Mem I’ll eat my own head, it’s a complete non starter.

    As it's quiet!

    What an absolute plank.

Up there with the ‘Thank you Matty Taylor’ guy and that utter belter who filmed himself driving round the Car Park of his local Sainsbury’s singing that shit Irene song (that’ll show em).

Worth more and bigger and better than we’ll ever be.

    Okaaay....

....we'd lost 8 and drawn 1 of the previous 9 games before we struggled to beat rock bottom Rotherham at home...do you think that record allows him smug looks at the crowd and obvious goading and gloating?! After the run of form we were on, the crowd's obvious frustration was totally understandable.

And the subs 'linked up' for the winning goal? A shot from one was blocked/saved by the keeper and the other got the rebound. Is that 'linking up'?! I suppose it could be argued that it is, but 'linked up' suggests a move that was a bit more skilful and pre-meditated than a blocked shot which fell to one of our guys.

Anyway, that's history, last season was awful....let's carry on enjoying this one!

In all fairness those substitutions changed the game as we suddenly looked dangerous going forward which up to that point wasn't the case. I'm guessing LJ was letting out some frustrations the same way the crowd had when they were chanting that he didn't know what he was doing.

Bad times....the Gas were loving it, we were DEFINITELY going down and they were DEFINITELY going up with Dopey at the helm. How did that work out in the end?

    HAHA FTG!

My favourite is our friend Henbury Gas who has hinted that Wael has had meetings including with Marvin Reece and has made a few hints re something happening Reece, Bristol Mayor, Bristol Arena, Stadium blah blah blah... so let's use this as the test and see what happenes Henbury Gas full of crap or in the know ?!

    Let’s put some facts forward.... 2Fans Forum.png

A bit late for that I’m afraid. The story about a disabled City fan who apparently had all his teeth/one tooth/no teeth smashed out of his head by a fellow City fan over a seat was enough to see that Henbury Gas talks bullshit.

Any idea what their number 3 did during the remembrance ceremonies?

Scunthorpe fans seem annoyed, accusing him of disrespect (not that that surprises me)...

    Interesting.

Ive just looked on Slagchat and noticed a Scunthorpe fan has mentioned some disrespect from a Gas player. One of the boneheads has suggested Scunthorpe get their own house in order because he was disappointed in the quality of the curry he had this evening after the game , another one has told him to "bore off".

This sort of attitude from their thick fans is obviously one of the many reasons why they're so loved by everyone else in the football league.

    Pathetic! OTIB.

According to their forum the official figure is 275, no way is there 275 there.

    275 eh?

**** me they really do have amazing away support don’t they? no wonder they keep banging on an on about it at every possible opportunity.

Remember, it’s just what they do...
