Cmon whos admitted that there away support is far superior to ours........:gasmask::gasmask:

Why would anyone "admit" something that's clearly incorrect? If they consistently take double the number of fans to away matches that would be far superior...if they regularly take a few more fans to away matches that would be superior.

    They do neither.

Why has this thread slipped from the first page?

Good point my Pompey supporting closet Gas idiot friend, even after a derby defeat against rivals who can actually compete in the same division as us we mustn't forget about the funny little club up the road...

That's pretty much how I remember things back then. One thing I can't remember is what capacity was at Ashton back then,e.g. I remember there being 26,000 at Eastville for a 0-0 against you on Good Friday in the mid 70's, and I would have been at the Ashton game as well, but would there have been much more than 26,000 there? I'm sure there is a website where you could look it up, but I can't find one. I can't ever remember us getting better crowds on a regular basis, in fact I'm not sure I can ever remember us getting a better crowd as a one off (as in getter a bigger gate than your previous home game if you see what I mean). I have said it before here, but I do think both teams are very well supported for their respective positions , and both teams are capable of taking a large travelling support on certain occasions.

I'm sure Ive read somewhere that your crowds were better than ours for most of the 50s. I don't think there's a huge amount in it to be fair.

I'm never sure if I think that City/Rovers attendances (home and away) are generally good considering the lack of success in Bristol football or both are a bit shit when taking into account to the population of Bristol and surrounding area. Both teams would undoubtedly need 20k+ stadiums in the Premiership.

The big questions for me are, why are you not in town blowing your winnings on beer and birds?, and does Wael know how loaded you are? I'm thinking about the building costs for the UWE.....won't pay for itself.

Masturbating, Rovers take a lead knowing how to spell 'wanking' properly. Cue easy tap ins for City fans to post 'well you would know how to spell that wouldn't you'

Anyway, may I - for once-take a second to gloat. For nearly 30 years I have bet Rovers to win 2-0 and City to lose 2-0 in a 'double'. When I began this bet, I thought to myself 'well that's bound to happen a couple of times a season' After a couple of years of betting it, Rovers beat Middlesbrough 2-0 at Twerton and City were losing 2-0 at Oldham in injury time, when Rob Newman got a late consolation and ****** up my bet. A few years back, you lost 2-0 on a Saturday, and our game against Charlton was played on the Monday, you did your bit by losing 2-0, and Rovers held on to a 2-0 lead until the 6h minute of injury time, when Charlton scored. But today- FINALLY- the 2-0 double has paid off, and I am £150 richer :):)

I would like to say thank you to my family and friends, and all those who have stood by me during this trying period. The relegations, the tears, the constantly getting locked out of away grounds has all been worth it, just to finally get one over on the bastard bookies.

    COME ON YOU BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!

    Double wanking post!

I didn't think wanking would be allowed Miah :gasmask:

  6. Whilst we're comparing travelling attendances in the same City, why don't we have a look at the figures for our 'Paint Pot, Mickey Mouse' trophy at Wembley and Rovers Play Off Final at the same venue in the same season.

    City....42000

    Rovers....26000

    Mind the Gap.

You talk about how we talk about away attendances a lot, but it's only because you talk about home attendances. I wouldn't expect any different though, you do need to have some bragging rights.

I'll leave you all to mourn over the fact you lost against your rivals today x

You do talk about away attendances a lot, in fact it's all you talk about.

The only bragging rights we have is larger attendances.....and more Derby wins (when you actually manage to get into the same division as us).....oh, we've never been Non League.....I could go on.

No wonder so many of our younger fans look towards Cardiff for proper on field rivalry.

Still, well done on your 'invasion'.....very impressive

otherwise you highlight a significant disparity there.

It's almost like they want us to point out that they haven't had average attendances above 10,000 for 40 years...even when we were in the same division with similar size grounds. They take about 100 more to Nottingham when they're challenging for promotion and they all start masterbating

    They honestly believe this shit

I wonder if the 'plastics' will come back and they'll actually sell more than their usual couple of thousand season tickets?

    'amazing support' indeed...

we cower in the giant wake of you '82ers, the hugest massivest club, we are the Blue few.

I think that just about sums up the last 120 pages. You're ace you are.

One thing, give us a bit of time and hopefully we'll catch up a little bit with your massive hugeness. Cheers.

     What a bizarre post.

Do you think if I had a look at Gaschat I'd find mainly well balanced views about City, especially regarding our fans, stadium and attendances?....or would I probably end up reading a load of crap about how all of us are thugs who vandalise War Memorials, we aren't as massively loyal as you, our redevelopment at AG is shit and our attendances are rubbish compared to what you'd apparently get in our position (a belief based on absolutely nothing)?

Stop moaning, it's a football forum, if it bothers you don't read it.

What happened to the ridiculous "Oh Yes" thread you muppets had running for ages by the way? The one where you'd all get excited and celebrate every time we lost a match in a division higher than you (before you got relegated back to the basement). Hypocrites .

Wael quoted last night "we will make Landsdown eat his words" about no one remembering Rovers in a few years time :)

Please can someone enlighten me regarding this supposed quote from Lansdown. Gasheads bang on and on about it, Nailseacookie was even going to post a video on here years ago showing him saying it (presumably whilst sat in a huge chair laughing and stroking a cat) but as of yet...nothing.

Have they let their victim mentality get the better of them and got the wrong end of the stick (ie 'Ragass Rovers') or did SL genuinely come out with some banter towards the Gas which has successfully had them crying and bitching for years?

I kid you not the other week on their one of them started a thread which said something like 'are we some of the best fans in England'

it then had the usual bollocks about how great there away support is as a % to their home support, what they don't actually realise is - they just have shit home support and average away support

    ******* deluded

Absolutely spot on....not that they'll listen when you point that out to them though. I know Gasheads at work who use this bizarre percentage calculation to 'prove' how great they are.

Its rubbish of course. I bet Accrington have a similar home/away percentage figure as the Gas. I bet they don't bore everyone else to death about how amazing they consider themselves.

    6634 there tonight.

    Massive club..

Someone on Slagchat actually thinks that's a great turnout.

...but then this is the same deluded idiots that slag off our attendances and reckon they'd get 20 odd thousand every other week at the UWE if they were in the Championship. Full of shit.

That's the mob from the Lamb I think. They're a decent lot actually and welcomed me in there a while ago with a lively chorus of 'Sheed 'ed, sheed ed'! I bowed, quickly drank my pint and got the **** out of there! :gasmask:

As a 16 year old playing for an Adults Sunday League side I'd never heard of 'Banjo Island' or that it's a Gas area (Park Estate isn't it?) so when I walked into the Lamb pub after the match...the team we were playing...wearing a City shirt I got one or two dodgy looks. :blink::blink:

I thought it was because I'd scored our winner....but I don't think it was...

    Those Gas 'agents' eh?

    Nightmare....
