  1. My first reaction was to think that we'd forgotten to put the video up in August, and that doing it now was a bit weird.

But by God, that would be better than the reality.

    Strange Days have found us.

    🤦‍♂️

Yes, and with that experience and nous, young and inexperienced members of the team can really flourish.

Gary O'Neil had never taken charge of a football team until 2021 and not a first team until August 2022 - 18 months ago.

He might be named Premier League manager of the season, and he did a pretty bloody good job at Bournemouth last season too.

    He absolutely should be.

Given their firesale and lack of funds, what he's achieved is spectacular.

It's about the whole organisation though, so I'm not sure he'd be able to replicate the relative success here in our stellar set up.

For me, the most disappointing comment from BT is that Liam is still learning.

How are we in the position where we’ve got a Head Coach, a Technical Director and a Chairman all learning on the job?

Respectfully, I'd sugg est two of them aren't really learning.

It was clearly mentioned that the big number 9 was likely to come from abroad though, presumably scotland is abroad if miovski might be a target?!

Going on the rest of the interview I was half expecting him to name the main target and what we were prepared to bid.

Can’t believe Tins is giving out undisclosed transfer fees on air! Jeez.  Bet QPR are delighted that’s been divulged.

He's doing it to paint himself in a good light. I can't see anyone at the club calling him out on it, but agree it's very unprofessional.

"Where do you want to be in 12 months time?"

    "10 pts better off"

Is that it? Is that the extent of the ambition?

    Jesus wept.

How completely obvious is it to say "in among the top end, at least challenging for a play off place."

Even if it's not going to happen.

I guess he must have been sat down - he certainly wasn't thinking on his feet there.

Those wanting Manning out will be disappointed with this interview - he isn’t going anywhere.

SL's boy (JL) won't be sacking his boy (BT), and his boy (LM) is safe for now.

Sorry... "He's learning" that wasn't what we were told ... Instant improvement.. wasn't it?!?

It's called revisionism. I don't think the bloke changes anyone's mind about him.

    "30 years I've been here."

    Quite.

It's the only way we get to see young local lads on the pitch now Manning is here.

But they had no idea what they were doing. You shouldn't be leaving two up when defending a last minute set piece. What the hell is Pat Mountain playing at?

Dante you ain't wrong my other post was about him, but that doesn't mean I'm on a witch hunt. Nothing more than I see him as sub standard for a city player in my opinion. I stand by all our players week in and and week out home and sometimes away. I wish he was good but for all our sake but for me he weakens us more often than not when he's on the pitch.

He's played much better than today.

But what if he was deployed alongside TC, and Knight reverted to midfield?

Then we'd prolly need to tinker a bit and start Sykes yadda yadda yadda, but is it an impossible ask to play players in positions that utilise then properly?

Did he just give the bird to the Dolman Stand ?

He did something - I don't know what. To be honest most of us aren't alert enough to notice ... zzz.

What worries me is the message is sends out. If Manning genuinely believes none of our reserve team are ready to play for the first team even in an emergency then that is a shame but ultimately his call to make.  But, by not even naming them on the bench, it implies to those at the levels below the reserves - under-18s etc - that young players will not be trusted and there isn’t a pathway.

That has to subconsciously hit motivation levels as what are the players working towards?

I gather no one thinks much of the u21s*, and the u18s played Thursday night.

But even if they hadn't, you're right,  he's not sitting one of them on the bench is he.

ED: * Excluding the ones who usually play up in the u21s
