Yep, wasn’t that gonna be on the old Whitchurch airfield? I thought that was a great idea, having a ground surrounded by Hartcliffe, Knowle West, Withywood, Whitchurch, Hengrove and Brislington .... away fans would have rated it as more horrible than a trip to the Den! It would defo have been a fortress! Can you imagine the ‘welcome’ any away fan would have received in the pubs around there back in the 80s?!?!
I would have felt more nervous as a home fan than an away fan!

Proof of the pudding being, how many clubs are now owned by local businesses in the community - pretty much a majority of the top 40 clubs are owned by nobody with any affiliation to the clubs locality.
I would say between 1/3 and 1/4 are owned locally in the top two divisions, but I must admit there are some clubs I know very little about.

I'm not knocking the Government here but these packages still have some gaping holes and lack clarity in places.
3) Employees who were laid off by proactive/desperate companies before the 80% rule was announced.
I think that has been clarified. The company would need to re-employ them for them to be covered by the 80% rule.

I am a regular online shopper with Morrisons (who are supplied bo Ocado) and Sainsburys. However neither has logged me as a vulnerable customer and its proved impossible to contact them by email or phone to argue the point.
I have the same issue with Sainsbury's and Waitrose. I am in the extremely vulnerable group who are required to stay at home. I wrote to Liam Fox my MP to ask what I was supposed to do about it. He recommended that I go out shopping.
What a tosser.

Exactly. There's a lot of ignorant comments on here.
And as I pointed out much earlier in this thread CIS self employed have already contributed too much tax during the present financial year. That's the way it's done.
As HMRC issue tax rebates following CIS tax returns against a sub contractor's UTR I don't see why it would be that difficult to provide the appropriate financial support by the same method.
IR35 cases may be more difficult/complicated, I have no experience with this. But getting help to at least some CIS self employed would be a start and demonstrate that something was being done.
CIS is only the construction industry. As has been pointed out there are an awful lot of self-employed on top of that.

Where are the Sun getting this? They’ve made this up as far as I can see.
Well, wherever they got it from the BBC did too.
The same list is on their website.
I haven't looked but I expect it is on the government website - also known as the OS

Were you sat in a hospital clinic or GP practice at the time?
No. They have switched to telephone consultations wherever possible, calling you in if anything comes up I assume.

I am in a high risk group and had an appointment with my consultant yesterday. He told me to avoid crowded indoor places rather than outdoor places.

Im not sure thats right
Prof Jonathan Ball, an expert in molecular virology at the University of Nottingham, said the study confirmed that for the vast majority of cases, the incubation and therefore quarantine period for new coronavirus, will be up to 14 days.
And, encouragingly: "There is little if any evidence that people can routinely transmit virus during the asymptomatic period."

. That's 5 days where you can be contagious without realising it yourself.
I don't think that is right. I have seen that researchers believe you are not contagious until the symptoms show.

Latest on their season ticket renewal poll. Their 6k gates may drop a lot lower next year by look of it. Certainly too low to qualify as a public gathering
Are you renewing/buying?
Non-holder: Will buy 3 votes Holder: Have renewed 0 votes Holder: Will renew 52 votes Holder: Won't renew 44 votes Daddy 2 votes Chips 14 votes Is that the result of the poll we all voted in?

I'm interested in why you're rallying with Villa on this- you've been charged post Investigation, and you should for purposes of equitable treatment want some kind of Investigation for them on their return to the Championship over this 3 year period and this ground sale and leaseback, whenever that might be.
Investigation and guilt/charge are two very different concepts of course. However I'd suggest the EFL have the right to investigate that 3 year period.
In general.
Villa Park, if Other Loans Receivable at £56.7m refers to that, appears surely that it might be getting paid for off the back of loans- could be that it is paid for via loans from the owners but has to be paid back which is curious.
How does FFP at Championship level deal with this?
That's unique among the 5 btw.
Derby and Reading had it appear in their cash flow statement the year of sale.
Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday had it appear in Other Debtors.
Both of these methods imply that the money will be going to the club either now, or later and it will be a true transaction. Price or rent terms or similar are a different matter, some seem more realistic than others.
This though implies that the cash will be loaned to Aston Villa over god knows what time frame- loaned, not paid for a transaction- loans maybe written off sometime in the future but valuation aside, I struggle to see how this is compatible with a £36m profit on disposal in the here and now!
@Coppello @Drew Peacock @martnewts
You all are strong on accounting IIRC, any ideas??
Sales price £56.7m less NBV of £21.1m gives £35.6m profit. How the proceeds are shown - cash, debtors, loan, is irrelevant to calculating the profit on the sale.
Showing the proceeds is a little unusual, is it shown as a long term loan?

It only would take a few people with the virus in the stadium to infect a big percentage of the attendance. With that happening, thats enough to spread through an entire city.
Nonsense.

To be fair that is true. I mean, it's all 'If my auntie had a pair of bollocks' stuff and we currently are , ahem, some distance off needing such a stadium, but Eastville really would have been a great site for a large stadium that could have been the envy of many international clubs. If someone with the cash and vision of Lansdown had been around at the time , Bristol could have been a very different city sporting wise.
But where would we have got our Benny bookcases?

Ashton Gate chairman Martin Griffiths said they wanted to create a "sporting quarter" where the city's football, rugby and basketball teams all play.
The only quarter(s) at Ashton Gate eh?
If you added up all the quarters in Bristol it must come to about 6 1/2

Very clever of the sags to have one. A sort of fake striker to go with the fake fanta and fake fekir.
Was he what they call a false 9?
Or a fake 9?
