Brian Tinnion Signed 30 Years Ago Today
eardun replied to 3 Peaps In A PodCast's topic in Football Chat
I was going to post similar. I vividly remember a section of the crowd giving him stick in his early days with us. It’s one of the reasons why I have no time for fans who make immediate judgements on new players. -
We’re all guessing! Mine was Very Important Plastic season ticket!
-
I assumed the VIP season ticket option was that as well - although it could be for a ‘very important plastic’ season ticket ?

I was just answering a specific Q re my original post. My original post was the below. So by no means a good reason for staying put, but just my personal positives given AV was not possible. ‘I was also excited about AV but ultimately I’m quite happy we are still at our traditional home, with memories back to the 1970s and the redevelopment is first class.’
-
An example: I can still vividly remember walking with my Dad along Duckmoor Road in the early evening on 20 April 1976. I was aged 9 and I knew that if we beat Portsmouth that night, we’d be promoted to Division 1 after an absence of 65 years. I regularly walk the same route to the ground now. I like the history associated with being at the same location for over 100 years. And yes a lot of the surroundings - the layout of the roads, the park, the flats - are still as they were when I started going in the 1970s. It’s Ashton Gate and it will always be Ashton Gate.
-
Could you check your Apple Pay button please as doesn’t seem to be working. Tried a couple of times. Thanks.
-
Exactly my feelings. I was also excited about AV but ultimately I’m quite happy we are still at our traditional home, with memories back to the 1970s and the redevelopment is first class.

Well deserved. Clearly he’s working hard to progress. I also love his name - feels like a traditional footballer’s name from the 1950s and he has a similar no nonsense approach.

I think that might be the nub of the Chairman’s mild dig at us. I recall watching an interview from Pearson after we had signed Naismith (I think it was in the close season) and he was asked how we had managed to prise Naismith away from Luton and Pearson indicated that they’d done well but - and I can’t remember his exact words but this was the gist - that he wouldn’t expect Luton to do as well again this season.

Yep - think we were after Harry Connick Junior -
When Nigel was at Shrewsbury I presume.

International break next week might help - with a bit of luck Conway, Naismith and James might be available afterwards -

Think you’ve just found the way the club can discourage people requesting physical season cards. You can either have a digital season ticket, or a physical pissing robin season ticket. -

Thanks. I do like watching it off the recording so that I can create my own replays. For some reason not been available on other red button matches recently. -
Didn’t open the tent flaps

Yes there will always be a fall back I’m sure. I’m hoping that we will be able to share access to the ticket but even if that’s not possible, I suspect the answer will be to request a QR code for that match.
-
The commentary on digital tickets makes a change from the usual panic about season tickets not arriving in the post! Although no doubt someone will opt for a physical ticket and then still start panicking in late July!
-
Don’t see why you’d have to hand your phone around. Adult gets child’s ticket up on phone and scans it and child walks through. Adult then gets his/her ticket up on same phone, scans it at walks though him/herself. Precisely the same process as when I book train tickets for more than one person on my phone and we go though the barriers - the phone doesn’t leave my hand as I scan each person through.
-
Q&A says this, so it will just be like bank cards and plane, train, tickets etc that you load to your Apple/Google wallet on your phone. So I expect we’ll have our season card sitting in the wallet that we can access to scan just like Apple Pay etc. No phone signal needed. 19. When will I receive my Season Ticket? 2023/24 Season Tickets will be digital so, prior to the start of the season, you will be able to add your Season Ticket to Apple/Google Wallet on your mobile phone. More information on how to do this will be issued in due course.

Agree. And King was excellent. Shows his experience and he does seem to see a pass that others don’t see.
