  1. I think Pearson’s patient man management has been great generally. He obviously sees the players day in and day out and decides who to play based on that. I trust his judgment. It wasn’t that long ago he was being criticised for not picking Atkinson and giving Atkinson a public kick up the A. Well to my mind, that has worked. Vyner looked on his way out and now look at him. Tanner and Pring and have been developed and improved. And so on.
  2. But apart from all of that, what did the Romans (Pearson) ever do for us!
  3. Tanner was great today. I like how he defends at the back post - gets up really well to deny the attacker coming in behind him. Not always been City’s strong point.
  4. Think you’d need a smart phone for Apple wallet/Google equivalent
  5. Agree. Stay balanced like Nige and enjoy the ride.
  6. Yes which was why I was surprised that KO was even later than 3pm. Think @cidered abroadhas nailed it above though - a bit later KO time gave more time for Sat morning workers to get to the match.
  7. I see today as a must win match if we are to stand a chance of the playoffs. A win would put us 3 points behind Norwich and 5 points behind WBA who are currently 6th.
  8. Reading the Leeds Q&A linked above, it looks like you have to download the ticket to your Apple wallet on your phone (or Google equivalent) and scan from there. As for train, plane tickets etc, you don’t need a phone signal to access. The Q&As also refer to mobile season tickets. Wonder if this will end the annual fretting about whether the postman will deliver the season cards before the first match!
  9. In today’s programme is this pic of an old City programme from the match Norwich in Oct 1947 (we won 6-0, our best win v Norwich). I found it interesting that the kick off time was 3.15pm - anyone know if that was that the usual KO time back in the day?
  10. Followed by ‘do you think it’s important to have a connection with the fans?’. What a waste of a question. Get that guy on Mastermind - specialist subject: the bleedin obvious.
  11. I love going to Craven cottage as well. Lovely walk down the river from Putney and a sit on the park next to the ground before kick off. Full away end. Of course we’ve had some great results there in recent years which also helps! Late Tomlin free kick winner being one of them.
  12. Pushed back to a later date sounds right to me. Pushed back to an earlier date wouldn’t!
  13. I suspect Williams will come in and to be fair I think he as looked on form in his sub appearances recently so I have no issue with that.
  14. We had some great youngsters then - a bit like now. Collier, Rodgers, Gow, Ritchie all aged 19-22 at the time of the Liverpool match. Even Merrick who was injured v Liverpool - the skipper - was only 22. Of course we managed to keep the bulk of that team together until we were promoted. So, for perfect symmetry, how about being promoted to the Premier League in 2025-26, exactly 50 years since the last time!
  15. Thanks for posting. Have a feeling this may have been my first match or one of them although I was very young so my stronger memories are not until the promotion season.
  16. In the first day I believe. City tweeted this yesterday: https://twitter.com/bristolcity/status/1622683043281661953?s=61&t=IK3hpM_Ts2VhcPxoAopVSw
  17. 25 points deduction if you leave the Dolman early.
  18. From 1 hour 13 mins on here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001hw6j?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile
  19. Chris Sutton really ripped into Nathan Jones in the Monday Night Club tonight (BBC Radio 5 Live). Said he’d sack him and called him insecure and a bluffer (amongst other things)!
  20. The only season that comes to mind for me is 1987-88. Terry Cooper was sacked in March and Joe Jordan then took us into the playoffs (and, unfortunately, David Kelly).
  21. Try this seat joke: There was burglary at the police station. The burglars stole the toilet seat. Police have nothing to go on.
  22. Just watched this myself (on the link for those who haven’t seen this). Very much sounds like an ‘out of my depth’ interview but we’ll see if he is given the chance to turn it around. That said, I’d quite like both Southampton and Bournemouth to be playing us in the Championship next season as short away trips for me! 23. I see it as a combination of succession planning - Scott may go in the Summer as well - but more importantly for the here and now our game is reliant on intense pressing from the front and quick counter attacking - it’s going to be great having all these options from the bench to keep up the energy levels during games.
  24. It was the injuries that did for Owen. I read this a few years ago: Michael Owen: Ex-England striker opens up about injuries https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45313122
