  1. Forest started badly last season. We can only hope that history repeats itself in the same way for us.
  2. On another occasion Sims could have received a red for that stamp on Sykes. Same goes for that nasty early foul by Evans on Massengo. Knowing our luck, if we had committed those fouls, they would have been deemed worthy of a red card.
  3. The way things are going it wouldn't surprise me to see Bentley taking corners next week and Dasilva being tasked to be our aerial threat in the box.
  4. I want Pearson to do well and take us forward, but yesterday was a poor, inexcusable show. The many first-timers and invited mates won't be in a rush to come again after seeing that. Yeah, we gifted goals but someone, presumably Pearson, is coaching them to play it out from the back, and particularly so close to our goal-line.. That would be fine but we clearly don't have the calibre of players with the skill and slickness to implement that. Bar one or two exceptions, the players were slow, ponderous and predictable. We lost most of the 50/50's because the players are not physical or aggressive enough. The fitness levels of certain players was embarrassing. Sunderland were much fitter and sharper. The fitness coach (Euell?) has some explaining to do. Let's hear what he's got to say. For me, Martin is a waste of space. The guy just plods around the field, loses most heading duels and when he does win one, he nods the ball aimlessly. We're effectively playing with just ten me, when he's on the pitch. Don't understand Pearsom's aversion to subbing or dropping him. That young Sims guy demonstrated how a good striker is supposed to play. The mess needs to be sorted immediately. Finally, on a completely different subject, the club is not geared up for handling large crowds. The rambling queues and length of time it took to get drinks and grub at half-time needs to be addressed. I reckon the club lost a lot of much-needed revenue from the many people around me (and others) who just gave up.
  5. Sad news indeed. Another true City legend gone. RIP Stoney old friend.
  6. Why? Next thing we know is some very offended person will feel the need to report this as some kind of "hate crime". It's simply Spudski's opinion, which he's entitled to express, like everyone else on this forum. You're entitled to disagree with him and explain why, but there's no need for personal insults. Incidentally, I'm sure many on here have openly expressed their hatred for the Rovers. I don't think that's been widely condemned as being "a bit strong". Bakinson is not worth arguing over. Hopefully, he'll soon be gone and forgetten.
  7. On the day Rovers were relegated from League Two.
  8. Horrible ! I hope our football isn't going to be as drab as this kit. If this is the best option for our 3rd kit, imagine how bad the other contenders were. Best thing they can do is smother it with some Grecian 2000 or Just for Men (other brands are available).
  9. "He has now been banned from attending football matches for the next six years". Can't believe this Sag is being rewarded for assault. A more painful punishment would have been sentencing him to watch every Rovers game for the next six years (as they plummet towards obscurity).
  10. People might not agree with Le Tissier's opinions, but he is entitled to express what he believes. Free speech is a right which has cost him dearly. However, he has not broken any law. Carragher, on the other hand, has got off very lightly. Not surprised Le Tissier raises the question of fairness,
  11. Akin to Bobby Reid taking his chance to shine after being given his opportunity.
  12. Another wild exaggeration that doesn't help this poor, universally hated recognised, minority group. The Blue Few are an almost extinct species (hence the name). Even after a promotion season, it's still incredibly rare to catch sight of one of them.
  13. God knows how some threads, such as this one, morph into political debates. Anyway, whilst on the boring subject of politics, with so many political parties to choose from, it's hard to know which one to pick. Anyone know when and where the next political party is being held? Mine's a pint. Cheers !
  14. But apparently, not if you're on the left. Right?
  15. If Craig Shakespeare had joined Pearson, we might have signed a thespian to end that jinx.
  16. That's why they're gunning for us.
  17. Would you Adam and Eve it? This could be the beginning, The package we offer to Kane has to be very tempting and one that he cannot resist. The devil is in the detail. If we do manage to sign Kane, he will prove himself to be more than able. This I swear on the Bible.
  18. The Khaki-Brown shorts look sh*te. The guy with receding grey hair looks like Pete Waterman.
  19. Perhaps someone should send Ashton a pack of incontinence pads. Such a terrible stain on his good character. I bet he's pee'd off. Cool !
  20. Gundogan very under-rated by many. Generally consisent and solid, and after his performance today this hard-working unsung hero is deservedly in the spotlight. If he leaves as rumoured, City will find it hard to replace him. Loved to see Pep letting his emotions overwhelm him, Shows how much he really cares (though never in any doubt).
  21. Could have been a lot worse if players were still allowed to wear blades. The headbutt on Billy Sharp was unacceptable, unnecessary and a cowardly cheap shot. The guy Biggs is going to have plenty of time to reflect on his stupidity while he's banged up and will probably regret the unprovoked attack. I suspect he's going to be looking over his shoulder for a long time.
  22. Abandoning ship because he has a sinking feeling it's going down next season. This could be a Titanic decision for him.
