This thread on twitter sums up F1 right now...those in the game...and those following. The replies put his patronising comment in its place. Yet he just dismisses them. F1 is in massive trouble imo...it's a circus of look at us.

,No different than it’s ever been, periods of dominance, can’t recall so many moaning when Mercedes were dominating- probably because Hamilton drives for them.

2016 - I don’t recall the circumstances that saw Ricciardo win the Malaysian GP, but I was at the Spanish GP to witness Rosberg and Hamilton take each other out, handing Verstappen his first win.

Agree. Not watched much this year tbh. All the rules / constant safety cars and sprint race bollocks is tiresome

Not a single safety car or even yellow flag (IIRC)this race.

I’m far from convinced the sprint race is worthwhile, but the rest of it is all about F1, Engineering, driving ability, reliability, strategy, and a bit of luck, with safety cars, yellow and red flags affecting the race.

If you want to watch cars that are limited in innovation and budget, there are plenty of race series that do just that - Formula Ford for one.

F1 has a Red Bull problem.  They’re so far ahead of everyone else it’s in real danger of turning into a procession again (at least for the podium).

It’s not new is it, periods of domination have been seen throughout F1.  It’s not F1’s problem , it’s the teams that haven’t developed their cars after the rule change problem and they need to catch up.  It’s part of the point of F1 - developing the best car within the rules.  Red Bull have Adrian Newey he is the difference in this cars development, Mercedes were pretty dominant for a long period, that drew criticism and comment.

  4. You’ll get a place in South Bristol for that money, but no buses, no work, shite facilities and Marvin doing his best to make it worse.  But it’s close to the countryside and some decent boozers in Chew Valley.

Spurs are all over place defensively - and I thought Leeds were bad enough………:cool2:

There have been some really unusual shorelines in the PL this season.

Yes, some of the teams have been all at sea….

  6. Oh dear Spurs, 4-0 down after 18 minutes….

How have a club with such facilities and having been fairly constant top ten Prem finishers be such serial losers

Sending players on to the pitch for the sole purpose of assaulting the opposition does not deserve any affection. He's a vile, vile cheat.

If that were true, which I doubt, that’s a reflection of the players not the Manager, they should have the character to play fair.

    Are these people mentally ill?

I haven’t had a tape measure out, but the fruit market isn’t a huge swathe of land, one side it is bordered by a rail line, it looks like a transfer line from St Phillips Marsh train maintenance depot, which it is, but it is also the mainline diversionary route to bypass Temple Meads in the event the station has to be closed for an emergency.  So no expansion that way.

I think culture has changed - smoking ban for one has changed the environment of a pub, they all need to offer some sort of food service as side revenue and really I think covid was the final nail with many people realising that they can buy a 12 pack of cans for less than couple of pints down the pub.

Not for me, can’t sit at home drinking beer, it’s just not right.  For me beer and pubs go hand in hand.

What nonsense. This season is a dead rubber for us, performance levels are important if we're looking to progress next season.

Of course it’s not nonsense, winning games develops a culture, not scoring against the worst team in the league ( and yes, we may yet) is not conducive to development.  How many good performances without scoring are acceptable?  As that just leads to conceding in games, even to teams we may have ‘outplayed’.

  11. More staying power than me, I did one season where I did every game home and away, pre-season friendlies, cup games and league, that was enough for me, it’s a huge effort to swap shifts, take holidays, leave work early, arrive late etc.

  12. Bit late to this, I’m with those who think it’s a strange position for Blackpool FC and any ‘official’ organisation to be showing such public condolences of this death.  If the guy has been an instigator of violence, then that’s the way the cookie crumbles, live by the sword, die by the sword, but don’t be lauded as a wonderful person.

    Easy way to stop that

Ban Adrian Newey from designing F1 cars

Most talented man in F1 bar none

Aerodynamic genius.  There has always been periods of domination in F1, I can’t see RB winning every race, Leclerc will win a race or two, if Ferrari don’t screw up strategy at crucial times and even Alonso.  The RB wasn’t dominant at every track last year and won’t be at this year either.

What they seem to have got right with the car - along with the aerodynamics (and that maybe closely tied) is the tyre life, they seem to suffer less degradation, although Max could drive a race that didn’t stress his tyres, but Perez had to put more heat into his and still didn’t suffer with the loss of grip the others did.

What else can Aston Martin do! Looks like an inspired move by Alonso and he brings a wealth of experience to the team, still great to watch and I’m sure they will have some improvements.  The cost cap will be what stops Mercedes redeveloping the car into a genuine contender this season.  Wolff doesn’t like it does he, but he now knows what other teams felt like during their dominance, in a time when they could spend limitless amounts on development.

Most important thing is that Haas don’t sack Gunther, he’s the reason I watch Drive to Survive….. ?
