Rashford seemed to lose his form in line with his high profile campaigning. I’m assume he still is involved, but maybe at not such an intense level, if I was paying someone six figures a week (or any wage) , I’d be happy for them to get involved with things outside of work, but only to a point where it didn’t affect work in a detrimental way.
He seems to have more of a football profile again, rather than a campaigner or politician, plenty of time for that full time when he finishes.
When he is on form, a great player to watch.

I know I keep on about it but Father Ted. Three series and a Christmas special. No more was needed.
They didn’t have much choice after the star died.

Been out in London all afternoon/evening and just seen the scores.
Perfect end to the day. FTG
Yep, two perfect results and those halfwits tumbling down the league, I’ll raise a glass to that.
FTG indeed!

I work away a few nights every month, London being regular place amongst others, a couple of weeks back, stayed in a hotel I use regularly, but don’t really drink in. One night, went out for a beer and a curry, got back to the hotel and just fancied a glass of red to round the evening off. Nearly spat it across the bar when tasting, as the till showed £16, nothing special, just a house Malbec.
Was in the same hotel this week, a bottle of Malbec from the Sainsbury’s down the road purchased and stashed in room for nightcaps, bottle for less than a tenner. I appreciate bars, pubs, hotels have to make a mark up, but £16 was taking the piss.

Were you teaching or learning?
Attending might be a better word, well, attending some of the time, when I wasn’t bunking off and wandering round the bike shops and going to Hofbrauhaus, where it was 5p to get in and see the strippers and about 35p for a pint of watery lager……

Indeed, been bugging me all day when I saw a list of father and son’s for City…and I knew there was another pair. I used to regularly frequent the Horse & Groom on a lunchtime which they ran (owned?). Both were really nice blokes.
Alan had the White Horse on West Street before that, would have been mid- late 70’s, as I played darts for his team and he wasn’t shy of a lock in - Tuesdays were always a tough day to get up and get to school on after leaving there in the early hours…..

Sadly @The Gasbusterit is down to @Ashton Hero to want to change - though I also thought the name was a piss take of Mark Ashton
Though if they want to change their name to something else it can be sorted for them

Are you inferring that our Mayor, who was I flown to Malaysia , put up at a Hotel all inclusive, by the Company that own the Hanger where the Arena will be, may not be totally independent ????
I'm shocked.BTW what happened to the land by Temple Meades that cost us about £15m ?
Far be from me to suggest that even the most good intentioned when they enter the murky world of politics, are never tempted by riches, the temptation of the flesh and the promise of even more power…….

Nearly £700 per household to revamp the ‘Colsun awl’ and not build an arena at Temple Meads, sounds like pockets have been lined…….

Get well soon Jennie, I didn’t realise strokes were a thing amongst people of her age.

Sad news, he came across as one of footballs nice guys. Enjoyed watching his Chelsea side.
Someone told a story on R5 this evening ( an ‘ordinary bloke’) said he and his wife had gone to a restaurant for an anniversary, they had booked but it was full and they were being turned away, Luca was in there with his wife and invited them to sit at their table. Wouldn’t let this couple pay for anything, and he also sent signed pictures and other stuff to the couples kids a few days later.

Bob Taylor, you expect players to move on, but the timing and almost dismissive manner of his move was a real low at the time.

Can't believe Blue Ginger is on there. Went in the summer and it was bang average.
Blue Ginger used to be top notch, it was owned by the brothers who own Golden Moments in Saltford, it has changed hands a couple of times since they decided to concentrate all their efforts into the Saltford restaurant. Went to Blue Ginger once for Xmas dinner and the food was all home cooked, their mum made some awesome dishes not usually on the menu.
To be honest, I find Paprika in the same rank of shops to be better now, but that is still just a decent curry house, although nothing out of the ordinary as far as dishes or originality

MvG gracious in defeat, final played in a great spirit between them, obvious respect for each other’s games.

Nice throwaway fact that the 4 semi-finalists are all the No1 player in their country.

Is it easy to find anyone else who has that opinion of him as a man away from football? I’ve met the guy, know someone who lives near him, has a beer with, perfectly nice bloke by all accounts and I found him to be myself.
Is he a football dinosaur and a pantomime villain? Yes, it’s hard to argue with that, but vile is not a characteristic I have seen in him.
