  1. It's so sad to see what my favourite city player has become, talk about total trashing your reputation,

Clearly needs to be got out the club as if he really believe the stuff he's saying then we got no hope

”so true” and ”exactly what will happen”?  Do you know something that we don’t?  If not, why get so sad when you really have no idea what will happen?  Cheer up, things may actually get better, you never know. 😀

When do things every get better for us  but I hope you are right, to many years watching city doing things like this definitely makes one a pessimist

It will be based on his continued nepotism and wanting a 'yes' man as 'head coach'.

There will be the usual crowd of Appleton, Robins etc. but I think he'll go for what he thinks is a winning combination: ex-player, young coach, modern thinking, will do everything I say etc.

I think he'll appoint Cole Skuse (sick in mouth).

Thats one of the saddest things I have ever read as it's so so true and exactly what will happen, we really have no hope

  4. In the long line of crazy choices made by the fool who owns our club this has to be the worst we are truly a shambles,

and then to try to make it look in the statement like they are doing us a favour when they are the ones who have run the club into the ground and got the squad down to the bones is beyond a joke,

I never really hated Lansdown until today but that's now changed for me will not be happy until he's sold us

  5. The biggest problem Mehmeti had is he's your tippical lower league players hes got one trick and that's good enough in league 2 to make you look a player, in the championship that's found out very quickly and stopped by better quality defence,

i was hoping that a summer of coaching would see him improve but it's just not happened from what little I have seen of him this season, not really sure he will make it at this level , I hope he gets the chance to prove me wrong thought

  6. I got a program at the Coventry game and it's definitely improved from the start of the season , the first 11 pages were all about the current side and the visitors which I thought an improvement, it was nice to see info on the woman's and U21 sides as well, I still think the stats page needs a lot of work as it's very basic at the moment and still think 12 pages in the middle about the 1970s is to much,

A positive for those making it was up with a Taunton town fan at the weekend making his first visit to the gate and he didn't realize that the program was not produced by the club so shows its getting there

  7. It just feels like every time the club starts moving in the right direction Lansdown comes along and sabotages it,

Lansdown just can't cope with strong willed managers who have a clear vision and start to actually take the club some were we saw it happen with Steve now it's happening with Nigel,

Sadly seams he can't take any criticism and just wants to have a yes man in charge who will be happy to tell the media how great the chairman is as Lee liked to do,

If he dose get rid of Nigel it will be one of the worst things he's done at the club, any chairman with any football sense would be backing Nigel and giving him some of the Scott money in January, sadly don't look at the moment like he has any sense I really hope he proves me wrong

There's been a big change in rail use. Industry figures show that rail journeys are back to pre-covid levels but leasure and weekend travel is much higher while peak, working week travel is down.

So the amount of revenue being made per journey still remains below pre-covid levels.

I guess any new business case would attempt to evaluate the line usage. The problem with that is that there will almost certainly be a new pricing model being introduced in the next few years but no one knows what that will be yet.

Any business case at the moment is likely to be little more than a wet finger in the air.

Totally agree about these very expensive business cases being little more than people guessing,

Here in a perfect example of how wrong these business cases can be,

The new worcestershire parkway station as just celebrated 544270 passinger's using it in the last 12 months  marking it a huge success,

But it nearly didn't get built as the business cases study predicted much lower numbers using it, in fact they thought it would take 15 years of people using it to build up to 383000 passinger's a year ,

The current usage is 40% higher after only being open 3 years,

It really dose make me think they always put out lower numbers in these reports, and I wonder if a Ashton gate station would be build if it would get much higher usage rate than the very low number forcast in the last business cases,

I was in Manchester this time last year and there were 3 free buses that ran from within a few metres of our hotel next to the AO Arena. Two went around town along slightly different routes, the third went all the way out to Salford Quays.

You do have to wonder why Manchester can do this when other cities can't.

Manchester has a city tax on anyone staying in a hotel as is common in most city's in Europe they use the money to pay for things like the free bus, I believe Manchester is the only UK city doing this tax at the moment,

  10. Not good news about this new line, they have now decided they need to do a new business case to see if the line will pay if re opened as the previous one was done before covid so they want to see if it's now changed,

They hope to have the new full business case submitted by march 2024 with hopefully approval of this by summer 2024 September at the latest ,

So we are now potentially a year away from them starting the building work on the new line,

    Two things from me:

    1) He worked the keeper into a reaction save, so it was a decent save IMO. Had he failed to test the keeper, he’d be more deserving of the pelters he’s getting now.

The vast majority who have replied to this thread are in agreement it was a very good save, not sure why you think he's getting pelters as he's not,

I personally think if he would have started the game he would have took one of those changes in the first half

  12. To be fair I thought the ref let the game flow very well today not very many unnecessary stoppages, made the whole match more enjoyable to watch so was not surprised when only 4 went up as really didn't feel like the game had been stopped that long, one of the better refs we seen down the gate

It isn't US though, is it?  Like it or not we have a singing section that have taken on the mantle of creating atmosphere, so Section 32 are leading things.  I have no idea whether it was the club's initiative alone or it was in response to a clamour from fans to create a 'singing' section, but as things are personally I am not a fan. To my mind those fans sprinkled around the whole ground would be more likely to get others join in.  I guess we are where we are, so it isn't gonna change any time soon.

My gripe is that from all these self-appointed singers we have no one that can craft an original song that everyone feels they can join with.  Also, at times they seem to be lost in their own songs rather than responding to what's happening on the pitch.  For example, why don't we sing 'C'mon you reds' at every corner like we used before that section, rather than carrying on some endless durge started 2 minutes before?  Also, songs like the one that is punctuated with 'see you next tuesday' aren't ones that every fan (especially those taking their kids to the game) will want to join in with.  It alienates fans from that section.  No problem with swearing, it's just really lame.  Maybe some songs are just away songs?

Personally, I do sing at games and always join in, but having some unique songs that everyone feels they can join in with, drop the embarrassing sh1te songs, and being more in tune with what happening on the pitch would help enormously.

P s. And before anyone suggested getting there and influencing that section, I have a son with disability so that's not an option.

I think you are being very unfair on section 82, firstly there are a lot of new songs they have come up with it's not there falt if the rest of the ground don't want to join in,

I would say remember back to before the EE was reopened giving all the singers somewhere to go together for the first time in years it didn't work back then having singes sprinkled around the ground was was near impossible to get anything going, hence why they was such a call to reopen the east end and keep that going with section 82, your idea of closing down section 82 would just not work,

The reason people don't sing come on you reds at every corner anymore is simply they are not prompt to by the club, in the old stadium the scoreboard on top the EE said come on you reads at every corner and everyone saw it and joined in, the new ground doesn't have that , I know it's a bit sad that people need that prompt but that's just how it is at the gate, maybe the club should start putting that up on the TV screens at corners ,

I am glad you sing and keep doing it maybe will make others around you join in

  14. To answer the OP original question I do think he could lose the home crowd, ultimately people want to watch a fun entertaining game and if that's not happening week after week the fans will turn on the manager even if we are safely in mid table thanks to away wins, we have all seen it happen before , if we can't become far more attacking at home Nigel could lose the crowd,

So who have I missed with a song? no Conway

Conway song was sung for a long time at the start of the match yesterday, the one that starts out woke up this morning feeling fine, how did you miss that,

We have though.  We played very well last week!

No we had a lot of the ball and did control the game but we did nothing with it, that's the issue without someone to create in midfield all the possession in the world will not win us the games we should
