His best game for city today though he was excellent, he ran the midfield, now he's fully fit he's showing what a good player he is

Why do we keep getting the premium league rejects, is a trip to the gate see as punishment ,
Definitely the worst we have had this season
-
He brought the worst football ever played by our club, it amazes me that his style of anti football saw him in the game so long, good riddance

LJ made 44 appearances in that play off season, I think. To suggest Marvin did all the work is just silly. They were very different players, obviously, and lots of fans didn’t like LJ because he was a neat and tidy unspectacular midfielder, and not the all action type. But he was a very important part of our success for those two seasons. As was McIndoe, whatever his other faults!
Just checked Lee played 39 times that season, the guy I was replying to claimed that the games he missed cost us promotion, I really disagree with this I don't think those 5 missed games didnt have that big an effect,
I still believe it's our lack of a top striker that cost us, a few more goals turning draws into wins would have seen us have a better chance of staying 2nd, our top scorer in the league that season finished with 8

If I remember correctly when he was part of the squad in 08 we were 2nd in the league then got injured and we dropped down out of the automatics. Come play off final it was his first game back for a while. No use crying over spilt milk over the Windass goal but I for one reckon if he hasn’t been injured we’d have made top 2.
don’t get the hatred for the man. Wore city on his sleeve and I wish him all the best in whatever ventures he has to go through
I watched ever game that season and if Lee was in the midfield or not made no difference as it was Marvin who did all the work in there, the reason we didn't go up automatic was we didn't spend the money we should have in January on a top striker who could have got us 12-13 goals in the run it, god bless Dele he was a lovely bloke but never going to get the goals we needed, no player got into double fingers for goals scored in the league that season that's what cost us nothing else, if we would have had a 20 goal striker that season we would have made it to the prem,

The BBC really have zero interest in sides that are not in the premier League other than if they think it's a giant killing as that's clearly a box there coverage has to tick, I am sure if they didn't have to show our goals contractually they wouldn't have bothered at all,

It's a simple one for me if he will take a big pay cut down to realistic amount for a squad player then happy to keep him as he can still do a job as proved yesterday, if he wants to keep the premier League wage he's on then he needs to move on,

That was a brilliant game not had such an enjoyable watch down the gate in ages,
Sam Bell what a player hers going to be was unplayable at times today,
Great to see the whole side so confident trying all the tricks , just great

CLUB STATEMENT: E34 DOLMAN STAND
MONDAY, JANUARY 16TH 2023
Bristol City Football Club would like to remind supporters that match tickets in the E34 block of the Dolman Stand are reserved seating only.
At Saturday’s fixture against Birmingham City, large numbers of supporters were stood throughout the game and many not in their correct seats. This resulted in a number of Season Ticket holders being unable to get to their designated seats and having to stand throughout the game.
Upon physical ticket checks, stewards discovered that supporters were duplicating tickets in an attempt to gain unauthorised access to the block. A large number of supporters with duplicate tickets were subsequently refused entry and those who had gained access were removed where safely possible.
As a result, there will be increased stewarding in place for this weekend’s fixture against Blackburn Rovers (January 21st, 3pm) and physical ticket checks in place, which may result in longer queues, as Bristol City Football Club and Ashton Gate underline it's commitment to fan safety.
Supporters who have purchased tickets in the E34 block are advised to take only the seat specified on their match ticket. If supporters are found to ignore their seating instruction they will also face removal from the stand.

I actually watched this higher or lower business, the young lad got it wrong on the first go but still won the prize?
Poor lad didn’t even know where in Bristol he was from.
That's amazing it's the most fixed game ever, what they are meant to say is on a clipboard that's held in front of them, the pressure of the Ashton gate crowd got to him

Very good 2nd half again today after a shocker in the 1st , if we could just manage to put things together for 90 minutes we will win, when we are up for it we look a good team just need to have that passion from the start of the match, maybe make the warmup more high energy get them going,
-
Fair play to the manager he's got there heads up after the weekend and pretty much everyone played well, I do think it helped that people were in there correct positions fingers crossed for the weekend

Point is that if (thinking at home mainly) performances are not so bad,
Performances don't keep you in the league thought, results do and at the moment we look unable to turn performance into positive results,

For me the biggest worry from today is the managers comments on radio Bristol after the game, he seams to have fallen out with a number of players as he said they are a number he can't trust, this is stopping him picking his best team, and cost us the came today as he wouldn't pick a fit center back , this is not good at all

A lot of sides in the A league represent different nations that now live in Australia it makes a lot of the game more country v country and sadly this brings a lot of trouble to there games

Do we know that Atkinson was definitely available today? Not even making the bench suggests to me that he wasn't.
edit: just seen the bit on the other thread that suggests he was. All very odd.
The manager said on radio Bristol he doesn't trust Atkinson so that's why he's picking King,
God knows what Atkinson must be doing in training for the boss to think so little of him

Parson Street exit and entrances passenger numbers for year end november 2022 101,000 a big increase from november 2021 of 29,000
BUT way short of the 174,000 back in 2019/20
A request if you have any friends or relations travelling to Bristol Temple meads or any local station in the Bristol area
(including Bristol Parkway) ask them to have their ticket issued to Parson Street, even if they are heading for some where else in the greater bristol area
Looks like the football traffic had bounced back well, but been a big drop in commuters,
A lot of railway people I know now say the new rush hour is Saturday afternoon/evening, and it's still quite in the week,

To be fair to him his now the one player we just can't do without, I never expected to be saying that,

For me Nigel made it clear when he started with us it would take him 3 whole seasons to sort out the mess we were in, so I think this is still a transition season,
We need to let him finish the project he started the time to judge him with be this time next year not now, I think the upcoming world cup break is coming at the right time for us to get players back and start to push up the table again,

Watching him pull out of two one on one's tonight one of witch with the keeper that could of easily seen is get a goal back is just shameful,
If as it looks he's not fully committed to city atb the moment as it looks then I would rather her wasn't playing for us at the moment,

Bajic doesn’t strike me as someone who has the build/physique for the championship. Early days for him
This I couldn't believe how small he was, he's never going to be able to dominate his box, I hope he turns out to be a good shot stopper,

Scores for Semenyo, Dasilva and Low.........too high? At least Low now knows how big the step up from U21's to the first team is? Just hope it does not ruin his confidence?
I feel sorry for Low , he wasn't ready and honestly think it would have been better for him to be took off after 10mins than have to take the boos for the whole first half,
Really what were people thinking booing a young kid like that , you could see he knew how badly it was going,

Zak Vyner player of the season so far

Not after the way Zak has played tonight, he's totally regressed to the poor level he was at the start of the season, so disappointing to see it all go wrong for him on the big stage,
