I don't agree. I think people do care, even if only subconsciously or in passing.
Many of the "Big" names make smaller teams choose generic kits from template. We have had personal and individual designs to our preferences. That is important. I think overall they have done a good job,  the love on social media for the keepers kit was way bigger than I had imagined it could be.

Excited is probably the wrong word, but pleased, yeah.

I have to say even I have been tempted to buy recent shirts, I love the black one, and I never wear shirts.

I think, for me, it seems a bit insane to be lauding a kit maker renewal when things are so bad on the pitch. The style of announcement seems way too much

A lot of calls for Root to step down, but who would be peoples choice as next captain?

Has to be someone who's going to make every test team for the next couple of years, there aren't too many of those that are safely in at the moment.

Yep, give him what he wants.

Broad for me.  Some noise around Billings.  I don’t really care who it is to be honest. Don’t think it makes much difference. Root should probably step down just to give the players another voice to listen too.  His captaincy is closely related to numerous batting collapses and he’s been captain for more tests than anyone so it’s all run it’s course a bit

Root will go after this, he'll probably make the decision himself.

Feel sorry for him in a way as he's been dealt a shit hand and his batting has been remarkable in the circumstances, but he's not a good captain and he can't stay in the job just because there's nobody else.

I’m not sure he will.  Ultimately, even though our batting is poor, if Strauss had picked Broad and Anderson we would have won the series.  Strauss decided to see if Overton and Woakes were good enough….I could have told him they weren’t if he’d asked and so could many others

I stand corrected.. I had thought Balotelli didn't win a medal and they later changed the rules such you now only need 10 appearances to qualify.

So you fell into your own trap?!

    Nope.

No winners medal. Last match about one of the only he figured in.

I’m really confused as you seem so sure. They won it in this season and here is his appearances

It is. A few fell into the 'Balotelli trap: but he played so few games for Man C he didn't qualify for a medal.

Are you sure? Just found about 5 websites that says he has and I think he played over 20 games one season they won it.  That would be enough for a medal.

They call us arrogant, but have you ever seen more of it than from Bale and Ramsay?

    Total *******. Come on, Austria!

    Weimann or no Weimann.

Bale is allowed to be arrogant. What a career he has had. The epitome of a big game player

You seem happy to let Bentley go. It's pretty obvious MOL will never be good enough at this level.

Just because you can’t read what I wrote properly doesn’t mean I said what you think!

Fair enough , I’m not convinced , certainly not enough that he can be our No 1 next season

    I hope I’m wrong

I think people didn’t read what I wrote properly. I said give him game time now (we aren’t going down) and see if he can improve with extra game time. If he does improve and is as good as Bentley then we can sell Bentley and reinvest. With our money situation we will need to sell and buy and Bentley is one that we could get money for which in this scenario wouldn’t weaken us

He's 25 and had lot's of chances to take over the reigns. I know this is exceptional but, Pickford made his debut for England at 23 and has been almost ever present in that time.

I'm genuinely pleased for him that he's been selected and it could be the spur that drives him on to work on and improve aspects of his game. But I remain convinced that he lacks certain attributes to be anything  other than he is now, a stand in. I expect him to find his level lower down the leagues.

What Pickford has done is irrelevant. On loan at Preston he was already superb at 21

Seems weird that some don't want a top keeper in goal. Probably the most important position.

    Who has said that ?

    I hope we dont!

Depends how much he improves between now and then if given a run of games. Many players improve with experience, especially goalkeepers. Unless you think Max’s ability has now peaked?!

And he'd be a very lucky chap.

Would be surprised if he didn’t improve with more game time. Very surprised. He hasn’t peaked yet

He’s not as good. I do think we’d be a better side with him in goal and the transfer fee from Bentley invested into other areas though.

Rather we kept our best keeper tbh.

I did say ‘if max is as good’ as a caveat

I don’t think it should be forgotten that we are in a poor position financially. We may need to sell a first team player to improve other areas of the pitch

  14. Well done Max.  Would like to see him regain his place and continue to improve and learn ahead of being our number one next season, if he does so.  We know what Bentley can do and if Max is as good after another run of games then we can sell Bentley and invest in other areas.

  15. One has to assume they’ve seen the pitch and think one spinner is enough.  Guess time will tell. Woakes must be playing because he’s quite reliable with the bat. Would have liked to see more of Fisher, we know Overton isn’t good enough already
