I won’t be watching as I simply cannot stand him, talentless massive self publicist.

Why does everything like this have to have some “celebrity” involvement these days?

There will be people who have supported Bury & Macclesfield for years but this insufferable **** has to get his face on TV again & get involved.

He’s a ******* Wrexham fan anyway, but of course “Hollywood” got to them first..

I agree, why no documentary on Bury, Hereford, Aldershot etc. why are Macclesfield so special they get there own documentary. Because he’s a BBC pundit he gets special treatment.

I know that Macclesfield are not liked at all in the league system, signing other teams best players and then not playing them. There squad is stupidly large and if they carry on as they are they will not have many friends in the league system just the media and that will hurt them as they climb the pyramid. Also got special treatment by being put up a level higher than Bury because of who runs them and the publicity.  Not fair on other teams at that level and the league is being run with an odd number to shoehorn them in.

They have a 36 and 37 year old training with them this week, at this rate Joey will be putting his boots on.

Glenn Whelan has been playing for Wythenshawe Amateurs in step 9 of the pyramid. He looks quite fit for watched him play against team I volunteer for Saturday. Was basically sitting in front of the back 4 and controlling the game. Didn’t do much just simple passes and lots of organising. Should be quite fit, really surprised he was playing at this level.

Currently 85% of adults have had first vaccination and nearly 70% their second, hardly barely half is it. I don't know if you are including children in your figure though.

Think he’s including children. Just over 50% of whole population had two jab. About 15 to 16 million will not be eligible which is roughly 22%. That then leads to the question what % needed for herd immunity or the 22% get it and we hope it starts to die out.

So, when do we get to hear the results of the last two pilot events, testing the impact of larger, nearer to full capacity crowds? They were the Euros final and semis - the former at least anecdotally being a true “super spreader” event.

    https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/news/england-fans-testing-positive-for-wembley-variant-soars-after-euros-final-281693/

And what will the results mean for grounds being allowed to open to full capacity at the start of the season?

Both questions asked decidedly tongue in cheek: my money is that Bozo’s determination to press ahead regardless of consequences will mean that these pilots are quietly forgotten.

Suspect we will hear eventually but only what they want us to hear. The test events seemed to be negative test before you go but voluntary testing after. So if no one goes for a test then positive rates will be low. Money talks and that will be the main leader.

Found out today, that FA new Covid rules are if a player tests positive as long as rest of team don’t show symptoms then they are ok to play. which means games shouldn’t be called off very often if at all.

That’s got nothing to do with a 10% capacity in an outdoor sports stadium

That’s a debate for another topic.
Getting to the stadium, mixing in concourses, mixing in the ground, use of toilets. 4 things that can be controlled for a start. Just because it’s outside doesn’t mean you won’t get bottlenecks etc.
If you add the so called government pilot scheme which was prove your negative when you get in, but voluntarily test after and then we can say only so many tested positive when a small % actually got retested to make the figures look good.

There are plenty of reasons why a small % is a good reason.

I guess but it’s insane. Could treble the attendance easily

Look at there infection rates compared to England’s and maybe they are doing the right thing. That is a discussion for another thread.

I can see why people think so but it's always been the rule, and it does make sense. Imagine a restart with a mixed pack, the confusion of some cars being blue flagged and some cars genuinely racing is a recipe for a ruined race.

But if there was no red flag all the cars were out of place any way and were allowed to race normally.

It just seems a very silly rule and the top 6 who had been careful made no mistakes and kept there cars on the track had no advantage for doing it.

No they said they would follow the data and if as looks very likely things are going far better than expected then they should follow that date and open things sooner, there was some one on TV from the government yesterday saying that they may only need 2 weeks between the lifting if restrictions now not the 4 they thought,

It takes at least 3 weeks for any effect on hospital admissions to come through. By giving each stage a 5 week gap you are making sure by opening another sector of economy and life you are not letting it get out of control.

It has been mentioned a few times by government and scientists that come Autumn we may well have to have some kind of restrictions to keep it under control masks and social testing . 21st June will only happen if test events show no increase in hospital admissions and death rates.

We have a vaccine and hopefully it will last 9 months or longer but if it is only good for 6 months then opening up can be stalled by a few weeks as we give people a booster it is all basically a big experiment that no one knows what the end result will be.

    Why do you believe that?

ALL restrictions are over in June

Restrictions are to be looked at in June. There is no guarantee they will be fully lifted, that’s why in the roadmap it says potentially.

There are trial events indoor and outside May, June to see what is possible. (Exhibitions, conferences, concerts  to see if any spreading occurs when contact is close and numbers increase).

Also have to remember that it has been mentioned that restrictions (masks and 2m) may be back Autumn depending on how virus reacts when flu season starts again.

Why hasn’t Kohli declared? Indian are over 415 ahead with over two days to play.

Could be because there is a crowd and if it was over in 3 days they may well need to refund money. Also whilst India are batting the crowd are happy.

I think it may come down to how well Lawrence bats in the next test, showed great aptitude vs spin and I can't see them leaving Pope out if he's fit as another good player. I think the plan could have been Foakes in for Lawrence if he had an average series in Sri Lanka so any decent test and I expect him to play vs India. So unless they drop an opener and move Bairstow up to open I don't see a space for Foakes in the batting line up.

Bairstow is not in the India squad at present I believe for India.

Namely Pro's have much stricter general principles which are being made stricter than amateurs who turn up and play/train

Bar a few clubs having outbreaks you've generally got a max of 1 or 2 positives per club. City reported 0 bar Kasey whose been in South Wales, not working? The only way to ensure a 0 case system would have been to have had players in bio secure bubbles like cricket which would mean not seeing family or being outside a hotel environment for several months which wouldn't happen, even then we saw in South Africa it isn't fallible.

    But they aren’t strict

When football returned at the Southampton friendly our players came in there own cars. Now it’s going from 2 coaches to 3. How much ventilation is there on a coach?

Players and clubs were told no canteens to be open, now clubs told close them and only match day can be used.

2 examples of where clubs and the league were not taking it seriously.

Reason they are taking it seriously now is Government are questioning them.

Clubs now told any breaches by players fine then and league will also fine clubs. You don’t fine players we will do it instead.

  13. Volunteer at a step 9 club

Only 6 players at a time in changing room

Everyone and subs must wear masks on the bench

Players not to share cars home or away.

No sharing of water bottles, bring your own for can’t guaranteee club ones would be clean enough.

4 rules the FA said clubs lower down had to follow, so why have Elite clubs been allowed to follow there own rules and now get told follow new tighter rules for current ones aren’t working.
