Gotta say fair play to Preston fans. Never usually see positive comments from other clubs about our players so it's nice to see. Good to see Massengo has got his mojo back, the injury in October set him back a bit.

Look, Vyner could be a good player at this level, but he makes far too many basic mistakes as a defender to make it. Iron them out and he becomes a good Championship defender. My concern is he isn't learning from them and we are losing points because of this. I don't think he has been scapegoated, at all. He was highly rated last season by many, it's just as a team we have improved and he has stood still during this time.

Pearson - looks like he's building something and maybe the club see this.

Oh god it was horrendous, every single week relying on sheer luck to win games. It was inevitable the eventual drop in results was to come. We have come a long way on the pitch performance wise since then, a much more attractive side to watch -

******* knew it -
Pearson is unlike any Manager we have had probably since Danny Wilson. He has been at the top as a player and a Manager and experienced. Comes across abrasive and abrupt. It's something maybe our fans are not used to seeing from a Manager. I'm all for it personally

There are many City fans who just are not aware of the task Pearson has on his hands to get us back to where we would like to be 4 or 5 years ago. No money on transfers, players who need to be shifted off the wage bill and a fanbase setting expectations too high. Football is of course a results business and granted from February - November it was pretty poor. For me though that was in no thanks to the absolute shambles the club was left in by taking a month to appoint Dean Holden and the absolute horror show that was left to Pearson. I think he is finally getting to grips with the club and the squad. Unfortunately those who don't like Pearson just want to point out the results but won't consider the context and are ignoring that the performances recently are far better and more consistent than they have been for the last 3 years. It will be a slow process, but I'm confident Pearson will get us towards where we want to be over the next 2 or 3 years. There have been a few away games this season with fans chanting we want LJ back, feckless idiots who have no idea what has been left for Pearson. I really wish Pearson was given the money Johnson had. Some just don't want to see him succeed

Reminds me of how happy I am we no longer have Rowe and Hunt in our team - pretty poor

Although we have lost last night, and our form since International break in November still reads as 'W4, D2, L5', which probably tells you where we are currently - lower mid table. However I can't help but be a little more upbeat about how we are setting up as a side. We must remember in that time we have lost some key experienced players in Baker, James and King. Our squad is young, or new to this League and are showing signs of improvement and progression. Semenyo has made a huge difference to our side, a real different aspect to our play just by him coming in it has enabled other players (Weimann and Martin) to have extra space in the forward areas. I think it helps when home form is good. Majority of our fans only ever see home matches so this carries a lot of weight with 'feel good' factor and wanting fans to return. I wouldn't have blamed them at any point from 2018 if a fan said they were put off in wanting to come and watch City, by just how we were set up at home matches. Looking at the table, something amazing would have to happen for us to seriously be considered for relegation, performances and an identity is what I'd like to see from the side for the next few months and I'm confident we'll still keep picking up wins a long the way. If you compare this to January 2021, we have definitely improved. We really were a total shambles come the end of Holden's reign, the Reading home display was as bad as I've ever seen from a Championship side. Yes, last night was a disappointment, but when do we ever win at Luton?

Good listen. However, the Swindon home win was the best game for the Club that season, miles clear of the Yeovil one, in my opinion.

If we finish higher than 14th then this has been a GOOD season

Good podcast. Ian sounded delighted by yesterdays result ? -
Is it just me who remembers them snapping up the old Eastend seats when they lost a game against us? I have a clear image in my head of a dozen angry Cardiff fans at the front lobbing the seats onto the side of the pitch in and around 2002

Bristol City v Cardiff City at home match day thread

A glorious read. Back when they were good (Late 00s/Early 2010s) they would give us so much stick over there. About time we got a double over them -
Imagine doing that to 2 players who both spent a minimum of 5 years at the club, were part of the double winning team and the run to the League Cup semi finals. Really poor by some of our own fans that. That being said i'm glad we put pressure on Flint as he really isn't a Championship level defender anymore

What a game, what a feeling, what a day. Missed this feeling. I just knew if we went into HT level that we'd go on to win.. Cardiff tired in 2nd half and their pressing game dropped because of this and true quality went on to prevail. Hope they get relegated too -
Needs rid of then if he has a bad attitude. Something some former Manager's have been reluctant to do with the bad eggs in the dressing room

Tom Heaton Adam Webster David Noble Jamie Paterson Bobby Reid Think that would be a good 5 a side team. Quick, good feet, Goals

I bet that Italian keeper didn't go on to much bigger and better things..

I used to love AFCON when it was on BBC 3. Still has the unpredictability about it which I loved, but what wasn't unpredictable back then was Egypt winning it all the time! Have enjoyed the drama so far
-
They were looking for anything to rule the goal out. Maybe BBC or ITV had a brown envelope for some FA Chief about giving Man United a helping hand so they are able to air them in the 4th round fixture. Just a tin foiled hat thought of mine

This was my biggest issue with VAR to begin with. Easily manipulated to benefit the big boys

The better team are losing unfortunately. Villa been very impressive tonight
-
Woeful decision. Not surprising though is it, decisions going in MU favour
-
Always respected them, not particularly liked them. They're a proper grassroots old school football club. Every club has its idiots, they have quite a few. Envious of their atmosphere they can create at The Den. At least when you play Millwall it feels like a proper game with something riding on it

Shaun Taylor might be ok but **** Swindon. Up there with the Gas
