Anyone mentioned that Will Still from Ligue 1. Young but has does an impressive job so far - bit of a punt all the same. What are people’s thoughts ? Lots of opportunities for puns as well
I think the general feeling is he would be out of reach. Has Reims 5th in Ligue 1 and only 5 pts off top. Would love to see him here but, we almost certainly couldn't get him.

Wasn't sure where to post, but I emailed Henry Winter at the Times yesterday and he says he knows NP well and knew he was getting frustrated. He will be calling him and writing about this.

What the actual ****. Nigel has been key in changing the cosy culture at the club and now been given the bum’s rush .
I really feel for the bloke he has been immense through some incredibly difficult times.
I would like to think that Lansdown has an ace up his sleeve but I am not that confident.Good luck Mr Pearson and thank you for giving us a team worth supporting in spite of all the brown stuff you have had to wade through.
I heard you'd orchestrated the whole thing Major. All because since NP appointment sales of your squeaky bum oil have nose-dived.

What did you expect "for it" given the slashing of wages, cuts, shopping in L1 and 2, number of academy rookies playing in first X1, etc?
He didn't expect anything he joined the forum about 1hr ago. He is part of a huge group of new members in the last 48hrs, all of whom are pro SL and anti-NP. It just makes the whole thing more sickening, because it just shows the club knew we wanted NP to stay and are actively paying for damage limitation. Anonther sign they don't care what we want for our club.

Under Pearson we often looked so disorganised out of possession, at times good with it. But teams found us easy to play against far to often for me.
If there weren't so many of you guys popping up, or you had planned it better and joined over time I wouldn't go down the conspiracy route. But there is no doubt that some sh@#ty PR firm has bots/fake people joining to try and promote the ownership agenda. A member for 21 hrs! F#4k off! No one is falling for this bull S%#t.

Gutted would be the word. Nige you have been a blessing to our club. It is infuriating that your work has not been recognised by those who make the decisions. You have done an incredible job and will be hugely missed. Honestly think we may have been in league 1 without you. Thank you for all you did and best wishes for the future, your departure is unjust.

Crayons on the pitch
Print the S@#t squashed Robbin 'logo' on a piece of paper with the words, your decisions are destroying OUR club. throw it onto the pitch as a paper plane. Cheap enough that nearly anyone going could do it.

WS will get a Premier League club when the time comes. That’s if he fancies it. He’s spent most of his life I believe in France/Belgium I believe. So wouldn’t surprise me if a bigger French club took him on.
I think you could be right, I think if he moved to a championship club he would already be on Prem Club's radars. But I think that was similar when Potter went to Swansea. I'm not sure we'd be in the caliber of club he would be looking at though.

Ive been surpised no1 has even tried to get him he has limited resources and does well. I think he would bring a fresh confidence into a young squad
Plays good football, and wins with limited resources. Ridiculously young and still developing. I'm not sure if he'd come, but for those mentioning Potter - this is Potter before getting the move to Swansea. His record is ridiculous. He is good enough that at one point Reims were paying 25,000 euros fines for every game he managed (as he didn't yet have the correct coaching badges) and felt that it was worth it. Will Still would excite me, but I doubt he is even on Landsdowns radar.

Probably wouldnt even consider it but id like to see an approach for William Still
Was about to post the same. Not sure we could get him anyway. But pretty much the only person who I can think of (that wouldn't be completely impossible to get) that might make me feel optimistic.

Look I'm not going to lie - no fan wants to see their team lose back-to-back games. And it hurts. However with 11 players (might actually be 12?) out, 6/7 of whom would probably be starters I find myself bizarrely optimistic. We could easily have got points out of the last two games and with a little more luck might have done. We are 5 points outside the playoffs with an awful lot of the season to go and an awful lot of players to come back in.
I get the doom and gloom and worries around SL and lack of investment - and I agree that is something we should be concerned about. However when it comes to the football side, the staff and players. One thing is really clear they are united and playing as a team, giving everything and stepping up where and when they need to. I felt at the beginning of the season we were an upper midtable side, I still hold that with the quality of the squad we have that is our true position. However, I also feel, NP has us playing above ourselves a lot of the time. With better injury luck and/or more investment I think we'd be in with an outside shot at the playoffs this season.

If he was Max from Leicester or Manchester as opposed to Max from Bristol he would have a whole thread calling for a new keeper.
Don't agree at all. I think people think of a keeper as just shot-stopping. I get the desire for the spectacular and how good a shot-stopping can look (Something Bents in form was amazing at), but there is so much more to being a keeper these days. Three occasions just in the game today where Max is out and stops an overload attack by rushing out. He reads the game really well and constantly tries to dominate his box. He is constantly an extra player to pass to in defense and plays the sweeper keeper part as well as any other keeper in the division. Is he the best keeper at this level, no. But is he below Champ quality? Absolutely not. He is a solid keeper at this level.

Seriously unlucky over the last two games, particularly given the injuries. It felt like we deserved at least a point across the two.

How has Meite not been booked.

He did play a 1/4 of the game against Leeds. He'll get more chances, but he's got to find a way to have more of an impact when he does. I agree a run of games may help, but we can't necessarily give him that if he isn't having an impact - particularly NP can't if for some reason the rumors about his position being under pressure are true.

God there disciplined with their shape. No one gets dragged out of place. And so quick to get back on the rare occasion they do. Really well drilled, hard to break that down.
-
Brilliant tracking back from knight to win that header.
-
For overall for me, we weren't too bad. Defense + Max should have done better with their goal - should have been closed down and having got the shot away Max should save that. We've had some good chances and held our own. We do look like a side who have 5 defenders out injured at times, but I think most teams would struggle to deal with that situation.

Yep, and just stood still and watched their shot against the post. He may well redeem himself second half of course but that was a poor half from him.
It's a great strike and Max will see it late (city players blocking his view), trying to fault him on that one would be as ridiculous as me saying "he left it because he knew it would hit the post and go out."

We just got 20 odd million in, and a much reduced wage bill,,, i doubt many would be surprised if some money was made available in January if a new manager was brought in!
I think the point is if we are going to do that why not do that with Pearson? why not do that with the manager doing well and proven at this level. I doubt this is a possibility though, and that's what Fans are worrying about, back the man in the job. give him a contract - if money can be made available give it to him! And if not he has shown he can and will work with that.
