  1. I have no idea what an arsebiscuit is, but I tend to agree with your sentiment if this refers to TG. Stumped, with 10 needed for the final, 5th batting point. I hope it doesn't come back to bite us - remember 2010 and Notts (or even Lancs, who are not helping us again!).
  2. With hindsight (although I thought at the time it was foolhardy) that declaration could just could have brought a win - and very nearly did. I maintain the declaration was foolhardy, but it certainly demonstrated CR's vision of playing to win rather than just survive.
  3. Should Tres score another 245 runs in this match and at home to Notts, he will have 25,000 FC runs himself!
  4. Two experienced openers in, excellent batting weather forecast. What could go wrong ?
  5. Two experienced batsmen in now: Tres has been in form all season and Rogers looks to have found some of his normal form the past few matches. Just hoping this is not a Tom type jinx, but keep it to two, maximum three wickets down at the close and who knows?. 15/1, 28 overs left.
  6. Now keeping the run rate down to below 2 an over for the last 10 overs), and probably less than 30 overs to bat . In addition, we have our maximum 3 bowling bonus points, Yorkshire are unlikely () to get any batting points and Middlesex are currently rained off.
  7. Less than 40 overs left in the day - possible I suppose.
  8. Fine with me as well, but what are the odds of Peter Treego being in and out before the close of play?
  9. I suspect Tom may be held responsible if, as seems increasingly likely, Messrs Plunkett, Bresnan, Sidebottom and Brooks are let loose this afternoon in these conditions. You should have shut up about Lehman and hoped he and Gale stayed there for a 6 hour marathon 50 run partnership!
  10. I think the best solution would be to simply control the run rate (and wickets) in this afternoon's apparently wonderful (overcast) seam conditions, ensuring that we do not bowl Yorkshire out, before trying to take advantage tomorrow (and Wednesday ) of better batting conditions.
  11. And Rashid is apparently going to bat at 6! I appreciate he is a more than useful batsman, but Somerset were criticising/moaning about the decision to bat Allenby and/or Treego at 6.
  12. Excellent jinxing Tom (on the other site). 4 down now, and the Gregory dropped catch less expensive than it might have been.
  13. Both Middlesex and Durham 3 wickets down! Indeed, BRING THE RAIN!
  14. I believe a monsoon in, indeed, forecast at Headingley tomorrow - even a spot of rain this evening. Middlesex 2 down as I type . And Durham .
  15. Quite right, Sorry. I recall somebody mentioning yesterday on the other site that they were worried J Patel was still batting as he held out for a win against us in similar conditions a few years ago - I confused the matches.
  16. Or was it that a certain team couldn't hold on for 14? overs with 3 wickets left? Or was it that a certain team couldn't hold on for 14? overs with 3 wickets left?
  17. What's not happening? UWE or Henbury's statement? Or both ?
  18. You mean he talks straight from his elbow?
  19. Jimmy Adams gone now, ct Tres bowled Leach. 5 to go in 12 overs, but Hants are now leading by 2....
  20. 5 overs of this one left, then at least 10 with the new ball.
  21. Hmmm. 191/4, 18 overs left, Leach yet to take a wicket this innings (RvdM has just taken 2, including Vince). They couldn't could they?
  22. I note you have just suggested a declaration. I would suggest a continued thrash for another 5 overs or so and then declare - a quick 50 or so runs will be easier now than at the end of the day, if necessary. My post crossed with yours - I was referring to your CRICINFO post. They have now declared, though 587/8 leaving Hants 249 runs to avoid defeat - still 90 overs left.
  23. Not necessarily. He has said he will make an effort to come back for the final.
