I see most comments on here are almost identical to my experience in renewing my passport from France. Easy to do, fast and efficient, so very much credit where credit is due.

He was, indeed, a great character and, for the most part, a good laugh. I must have eaten at Floyd’s in Clifton at least once a month over a six-month period, so often in fact that he would always come out (when he was there) say Hello and have a friendly chat; not just about the meal, but about life in general. I was always accompanied by my (then) girlfriend, an attractive young lady, and we were both quite sure he quite fancied her. No problem, as everything was always good humoured, but, unfortunately, we (my girlfriend and I) were going through a ‘problematic’ time on the occasion of our last visit and really just wanted a quiet dinner to have a heart-to-heart chat. Surprise, surprise, who should come bouncing out of the kitchen, but the ever (alcohol induced) jovial Keith Floyd, rabbiting on about ‘n’importe quoi’, and telling us what a lovely couple we were. We finished that evening ?.

Probably a little bit before your time, but the late Keith Floyd used to have a restaurant in Clifton back in the 1970s, named, quite simply, Floyd's. A really quirky restaurant, although the food was always fantastic, and Mr Floyd would frequently leave his kitchen to ensure everything was OK.

You are probably all correct, but my point was very much 'what if?'. I was just wondering whether he might have improved had he been able to grow in to the role in his favoured position, i.e. on the right side of the central defence, rather than helping out in a position in which I think he looked ill suited. Nevertheless, whatever his merits as a footballer, he remains ideal son-in-law material.

Did anybody ever eat in Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant on Park Street? If so, what was it like? I never tried the Bristol one, but I ate a few times in his London one, and was extremely disappointed each time. I found the door staff pretentious and the the food quite boring and extremely expensive for what it was, and the prices for wine were way over the top. I am just curious as to whether anybody on the forum who might have eaten in the Bristol branch shared my views or enjoyed their experience.

I still wonder how good he might have been had he played constantly on the right, rather than on the left, where he was frequently asked to play to provide cover.

It always amazes me when a wicketkeeper drops a simple catch. I mean, I know there is pressure etc., but even so. Tom Abell also dropped one a bit later, although it was a slightly more difficult chance to be fair.

Tom Abell reaches his highest first class score with a boundary.

So, Somerset start on 283/6, with Tom Abell on 121 NO. I am pleased for Tom, as he has been in atrocious form so far this season, and there was even some talk of 'resting' him were he to have failed in this match. Yesterday was only his 9th Century, he batted for just over five and a half hours, but I didn't realise until earlier that he is just 14 runs away from his highest ever first class score, 135. Let's hope he continues the good work this morning.
