Don’t think it has to be a football person. Just as long as it’s not Jake Humphrey or similar.

Of the current football presenters, I think Mark Chapman is best to take over right now.

But it’s very likely IMO that Alex Scott will be given an opportunity. I don’t agree with that, but in the same way I wouldn’t want Martin Keown to do it.

    **** Chapman, Manu init.

Has to be our man Pearce. Only chance of us being on MOTD.

Remember someone or other - @Huntstile Red, possibly - telling me he was in Cornwall once, Roseland Penninsula way and got chatting to a local who used to attend Ashton Gate in 76-79 (then stopped, for some reason). If we get a wriggle on and get to the top before the 'Muff we might tap in to some of that far South West untapped glory-hunting,fair-weather, "ooh ,look,  it's a famous team/player," drop us like a stone once we're down potential support that we won’t have any spare seats for should the very unlikely actually ever come about.

There were plenty from the South Devon football league that i saw at midweek games back then, most going to watch our openents to be fair.

They still do. I know quite a few that travel down. They have really benefitted from being relatively successful in a vast catchment area and, unlike a lot of clubs, their fans have stuck with them through the bad times.

Yeah your right, i lived in South Devon for many years and even when Torquay were pushing for a place in the second tier for a couple of years there was a decent Plymouth following in the area.

Not really. Cornwall rugby only really gets decent crowds/followings for the county side not the clubs (us v the rest of England mentality? It`s like an international for them!). The club sides don`t get many at all - even the `top` ones like Launceston only get a couple of thousand at best and the ground only has one small stand.

Argyle get a lot of Cornish support and from quite far afield too, places like St Austell, Newquay, Wadebridge, Camborne and Redruth all of which are well over an hour from Plymouth.

I think a lot of it stems from when they were a regular (like us) Division Two side and had some decent fixtures like we did.

Back in the 70s Argyle regularly had decent support from North Devon too, coach loads from the likes of Barnstaple and Bideford.

Plymouth can go do one. They hate us, and would be crowing and gloating relentlessly if they went above us, declaring themselves the “best in the west”. I hope they stay in the lower divisions where they belong.

Who cares if they hate us, would you rather Ipswich came up?

Always a big crowd and cracking atmosphere against Plymouth.

Try taking the Millwall outlook on other teams fans.!!!!

I’ve just had a look at the League One table and I couldn’t believe Plymouth! I know they were doing well but they’re absolutely bossing that league…

6 points clear of 3rd, FIFTEEN points clear of 4th. Crazy

Dose make me laugh when a few on here are saying replace Pearson with Schumacher.

Plymouth are a team and City on a par with us. Great catchment area and getting 15,000 crowds.

Nice ground good chance of promotion. after a few years in the wilderness are on the way up.

Pearson for me now is our best hope. If anyone thinks a change of manager would mean the Argyle guy coming in ,forget it.

  7. Pinball Machines, loved um. While at school in  Newton Abbot we would go up to the Milky Way Cafe.

100 fags prize for the top score of the week, me or my mate Pete would rack up a decent winning score.

Then Maxine Sutcliff (Girl from Leeds) would rock up and destroy our scores. She was a right bitch!!!!!

An unpopular opinion maybe but i feel he has been vastly over-rated by many of our fanbase. I feel Conway is much the better prospect, he has everything for me and his footballing intelligence is far superior to Semenyo.

I think if we can get anything over £3m for Semenyo we should be happy IMO.

Agree, Conway looks so hungry willing to learn, growing in confidence and improving so fast.

Our best asset, sadly don't think he will be with us much longer.

Wow.... this takes me back. We had Rediffusion and had a few of those radio sets. I have a particular vivid memory of one of those sat on a high shelf in the kitchen and listening to the Apollo 8 message on Christmas day in 1968 whilst eating a cooked breakfast. Funny the things you remember.....and those you don't.

When we first got married 76 had a small black and white TV then rented a colour set.

Things picked up and we bought a VHS Recorder for 600 quid, ****** mental.

Have to say going to the Spar shop for a film on a Sunday Night was a real treat.
