  1. To be fair I remember being 1 of only 168 at Forest in the JPT one year (I was working near by that week). Admittedly there had been 3500 City fans there the previous weekend for the league game though.
  2. That competition has gone downhill since they changed the name. I can't imagine Papa Johns generating a lyric like "Oh let me gaze upon your curves Instead of Ipswich Town reserves Swerving the Checkatrade with you"
  3. New York I Love You, But You're Bringing Me Down - LCD Soundsystem
  4. I agree, I would love to see a breakdown of where the money goes from the concerts. I wonder if it's as simple as "you keep the ticket money Reg and we will have the f&b money and the rental for the stalls around the ground?
  5. Are you including signing on fees amortised into the wages for those three? I believe £8000 PW would be greater than our major signing last season which seems unlikely? Naismith I could see an argument for being on the top wage target (10k?). But Sykes was a bit of a punt and I don't believe there was much competition for him and Wilson was in League 2 so wouldn't have needed a silly wage offer to stay in the area and have a crack at the Championship.
  6. I am sure Joey will have something to say about all those penalties at the end, I couldn't see a foul for any of the Argyle ones.
  7. Often the criticism of our youth teams fails to take into account that we genuinely do play youngsters. Of course we have the odd older player, like today but our U21's are usually littered with players who are 18 and younger. When you add in the fact that the very best are either fast tracked into the first team squad, or loaned out, then it takes the next generation a little bit of time to jump into their place.
  8. I thought Gerks was over Ipswich/ColU way?
  9. Why is it the last chance? With the one year extension he is really contracted with us until summer 2024. I don't know that he has been offered a new contract by us, so the idea that he is refusing to sign one is novel.
  10. Prince Henry and Seb Palmer-Houlden start for Yate and Chippenham respectively. No sign of Clarke at Yate? Bath City unchanged so Backwell on the bench. No sign of Pearson or Buse at Yeovil?
  11. I definitely thought of Tammy when I saw Conways finish on Saturday. Quick movement and an understanding that he just had to hit the target and the odds would be in his favour.
  12. Yes he uses the word horrible and the name Abraham, but not really at the same time, and even when he does he is talking about the first half
  13. At the risk of sounding a little ghoulish, how does Bakers retirement affect matters? I am assuming as he had another year on his contract, that a deal was done, but also assuming we have some sort of insurance for these situations? *Edit* Sorry I have just realised this has been asked and answered elsewhere.
  14. Putting it down to one injury seems somewhat understated. I wish him well in whatever he does in the future. Good luck big man.
  15. I think you will find that this has been covered in detail on this thread.
  16. But we are still in this summer, so he is basically currently contracted for 2 years. I don't know how many others are contracted to us for longer? Maybe we should start offering new 3 year contracts every year, but do we want our players feeling too comfortable? It could be that the club are waiting for this window to close before reviewing his contract.
  17. "Woke gone mad" is it really? Don't be silly. I would suggest to @Ghost Rider that he wants a stimulating debate rather a slanging match, then perhaps avoid using emotive terms like "most overrated player in Bristol City history", the use of absolutes like "never" or "always" and resorting to comments on a players looks rather than his ability.
  18. Are you sure? You're style and use of terminology seems very familiar and doesn't strike me as a newcomer.
  19. And yet other young players are allowed and even expected to be inconsistent, I think some forget his age because he has been around so long. He also could have been carrying a knock in the last couple of games, none of us know. As long as Pearson keeps picking him, despite his contract situation, that suggests to me that he values him more than some and definitely more than the OP.
  20. It's the use of absolutes, that gets me with these kinds of posts, yes he is yet to score, although it's not for the want of trying and could be argued that's not part of his game. But he has an assist this season and 4 last season despite not starting regularly, and it's often his driving runs that create the opportunities. I also don't believe he doesn't want to be here, I think that there is a lot of pressure being put on him from outside the club to manufacture a move, but when plays he doesn't look like someone who doesn't want to be here otherwise Pearson wouldn't pick him.
