  1. Saw these guys at HT in the South Stand and thought, "Wow, the marketing team are really going down the controversial content route"
  2. That's the trouble with fairweather supporters like @maxjakisn't it. They will never be fanatics, like some
  3. Thank you yes, perhaps truer to say that we would be comfortably safe even without the points deductions.
  4. So both Tom and Cityexile got their wishes. I got some of mine and have been proven right about the 40 points. Also it's worth pointing out that as it stands we would finish above Derby and Reading with or without points deductions. Although potentially results next week could ruin that.
  5. Well played Chris Dent, has been batting well and not going on to three figures too often recently. Now on 9938 first class runs, could he get to 10000 today?
  6. What a weird set of words in today's quordle.
  7. I thought someone has shown that they were already first team players before Probert came on board?
  8. A Paradise On Earth With Very Good Healthcare -Free Swim
  9. De Grandhomme seemed to think he was playing a Twenty20 game. The other possibility for putting them in is that there might be some doubt over Payne's fitness on day 4 after so long out and long COVID
  10. It's a "moneyball" thing isn't it? We can't afford a 30 goal a season striker so we look to get 30 goals from the ones we have. Janneh seems destined to drop back down to non-league which is a shame in a way, but he doesn't seem to have expanded his game beyond "I like to score goals". I am surprised that Conway hasn't had more game time as the season winds down, maybe in the last 2 games. He is apparently well regarded in the club.
  11. We saw in both games today why putting the opposition in is usually a poor tactic. Yes you might get an early breakthrough like Glos did, but you generally hand over the momentum to the opposition. You are basically showing that you feel the only chance you stand is to take advantage of the conditions in the first session, that gives confidence to the other side over the the next 11 sessions,
  12. I have been listening to the Tony Bellew is Angry Podcast. It's interviews with celebrities about what sets them off etc. It's hit and miss based on the interviewees, this weeks was really good though as it was Gary Lineker and he is always good value with the stories he tells. I have to say that I really hate listening to the Sound of the City as a podcast, mainly because they don't edit it. It's a pain listening to news and traffic reports 4 or 5 days later, I know I could skip it, but I am often doing other things whilst listening so it's distracting.
  13. Tiny Steps - Elvis Costello & the Attractions
  14. Day 1 - Warwickshire chose to field. "Will, Could you pop into the boardroom so we discuss the Captaincy position with you?"
  15. What a return for Payne, Ryan Patel with his first ball. It's a morning for lefty bowlers, thinking about digging out my spikes and popping up to Nevil Rd.
  16. I don't like the "transfer revenue" approach, mainly because I can't really see who we might have sold in the previous season that would have generated much income. Massengo maybe? Kalas? Bentley? They all did pretty well, but were they in the kind of form that would have teams queueing up in a normal season? Season ticket repayments, loss of match day revenue and the slowing of our rapidly increasing corporate income, you could see some justification for though.
  17. Ah, that makes a bit more sense, I suppose there could be losses for the "business" that don't come under FFP, so we will see what the difference will be soon I guess.
  18. SO £28m a season? Wow! It will be interesting to see how they prove that.
  19. Did I see a post saying that Stoke City were claiming £26m? That seems ambitious but maybe they have realised that it's open to negotiation and have gone in with a high opening gambit?
  20. What a game on Saturday, Plymouth V MK Dons. One needs a win to definitely make the playoffs, one needs a win to be in a chance of automatic promotion.
