  1. Wasn't that the game where he was the only person in the ground that didn't think we should have had a penalty?
  2. Wonderful for anyone who lives near any of the stops you want to miss out. I am surprised at you John as an advocate of minor stops elsewhere in the country. If you want a more direct route to the centre of London you could walk up to the new station and take the Overground.
  3. Is the nice man heavily invested in the East then?
  4. @Mr Popodopolous in his secret lair
  5. I think the big difference with the current squad compared to those of the past is the depth of the quality. In the past we had squads that either had 11 good players or we had 22 who were poor to average. Now I feel we have quality in the 22 and beyond, there were several players either injured or not picked in this international break that you could make an argument for starting, we have never had that before.
  6. It will continue until the FA finally pay off the millions that it cost them over the odds to build the place.
  7. Cryptic as always Bert, have they been running an illegal casino?
  8. Fammy never got on the pitch although they won through on penalties. Jojo played and they got through on away goals.
  9. Yes just saw that in the highlights, credit to Gordon for the save though, stood up well.
  10. I am not suggesting it's related but Austria were 2 -0 down to Wales until Weimann came on and now its 2 2.
  11. Sam Pearson scored for Wales U21 today.
  12. The first car I bought for myself was a Toyota Celica, I wss working in a garage as a paint sprayer at the time and one of the mechanics had tuned it to within an inch of its life and put some superduper gear box in it. He basically gave it to me to do the bodywork which I never really got around to doing, so the sight of this old rust bucket disappearing of into the distance must have been a bit galling for some. I know this will upset some of the petrol heads, but I get an even better effect from my Corsa e. Apart from a couple of very small 'e' symbols on the back and sides, there is nothing obvious to show it is electric, it doesn't even have the special green number plate, so I have surprised a few boy racers. The torque is just amazing, my brother in law likened it to a plane starting it's take off when I put it in sport mode. I love how it does it all so effortlessly.
  13. Just found the equivalent Quirdle stats but I have only played 39 games so I will wait to post those.
  14. After 50 games I thought I would share my stats. Yesterday broke my best winning streak. It's a shame that Quordle doesn't supply these stats too.
  15. I suppose there is an argument for putting this in the politics forum, but I though it might lose some audience there. — 18 months ago, during the wave of protests following the killing of George Floyd, I took the knee alongside my fellow Premier League football players. Anti-racism demonstrators flooded the streets of the UK, social media stood in solidarity, slaver statues and colonial relics were torn down and hundreds of thousands of people from all backgrounds demanded institutions tackle systemic inequalities in our society to combat racism. We are nearly two years on from the death of George Floyd and the tidal wave of outrage that followed. An eerie quiet seems to have descended, the issues raised have receded from the news agenda and if we are to believe the conclusions of the Sewell Report, the UK does not have a systemic problem with racism at all. Yet in that time both myself and my family have continued to experience vile racist abuse. I want to use my platform to campaign for change and not to let this movement and its momentum just fade away - that’s why I’m calling for Black, Asian and minority ethnic histories and experiences to be put on the national curriculum Sign now with a click I am a proud father of four children. I have seen more and more how important it is for my children to be able to see themselves represented in what they are being taught and learn about the contribution and background of people who look like them. As a mixed race man from a black Jamaican father and a white mother with Irish heritage, I grew up having an uncertain relationship with my own identity. Whilst at school I felt detached, neither white enough for the white kids or black enough for the black kids. I was even told by one teacher that I’d be dead by the time I was 25. It was only in my 20’s that I learnt more about my heritage, what it means to be a black man and the potential impact an earlier understanding of this might’ve had on me. Sign now with a click I want to reignite this conversation and put it back on the agenda. My mum always says to me, you can’t understand where you’re going if you don’t understand where you’ve come from. We need to lay a pathway for longer lasting change for our kids as I believe the current system is failing children from ethnic minorities. Please sign this petition to ask the Secretary of State for Education to make the teaching of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic histories and experiences mandatory throughout the school curriculum. Sign now with a click Yours Sincerely, Troy Deeney
  16. Today was my first failure in a while, I had 4 letters after 3 goes, but didn't get the last letter as there were about 7 possible answers.
  17. Britton came off the bench Friday night, Waterford were 2-0 down and had 10 men at the time. He played the last 20 and they lost 2 -1, no involvement in the goal that I can see.
  18. I have just realised that some of them are the 2nd teams of more established sides. It raises another question though, is there a limit on how far up the leagues those 2nd teams can go?
  19. I'm guessing that @joe jordans teethis referring to clocks going forward last night.
  20. He likes teams that are based in the back of beyond doesn't he? Sorry, I never realised he managed your lot. I meant, Hull, Southend, Preston, some team in Hyderabad and now Barrow.
  21. Horrible journey, I had to go there for work once, you basically pass it on the other side of Morecambe bay going up the M6, then have to drive back down the Furness side.
  22. Wow, I didn't realise how far some of those once mighty teams had dropped!
  23. Well I was right about not playing Barrow in my memory, or anyone else still alive by the look of it! We have never played them at their ground.
  24. What's the record for that level, do we know?
