Visited the Mayflower yesterday having met up in the White Hart.

Much to my surprise the entrance was underneath the shuttered facade and we had to descend a flight of stairs to enter the restaurant. The decor was pretty much what you’d expect in any Chinese restaurant.

The food was simply wonderful and I could see why it has such great reputation. At one point our group were the only  white people in there, everyone else was Chinese - obviously a good sign! We’ll definitely be going again and I’d recommend it to anyone who likes Chinese food.

After eating we all piled into the Bay Horse which was packed. Last night was the first time in years that I’d been in Bristol on a Friday evening and had forgotten just how busy it gets. Nailsea is definitely a one horse town in comparison.

I’ve been there as well as Watersky (I think) over by ikea. Both very much Chinese restaurants that you’ll see packed with Chinese people; as you say a great sign.

Agree, both the flaky and short crust are lush.  In order to get the full pre match experience when I watch away games on RTV I always make sure I have a Clarks pasty in the house to eat before ko ( +🍺)There's a map on their website that shows your nearest stockist. Mine is 8 miles away (Olveston Village Stores) but worth the drive!

    Clarks Pies have a website!?

    Game’s gone.

🙋‍♂️I also detest sharing Ashton Gate with the rugby team

My reason is because it’s our home and has been for a long time. Also, the rugby pitch markings look shit.

Did you realise they sell better pies and pasties at the rugby than they do at the football. You’re missing out.

I've been quite ambivalent to Manning up until now. I've watched and listened to all his interviews with us and a lot from his Oxford days. I hadn't warmed to him. It was all quite dull and repetitive.

Last night I did slightly tho. It just felt different to his other interviews. Maybe the more relaxed environment helped. Or maybe it was just the stupidness of the questions asked and the people sat alongside him that made me appreciate listening to someone who was able to speak articulately.

Thought he came across as the only one who was coherent and easy to understand. I quite warmed to him.

  5. Bristol City has made some structural and personnel changes to the men’s first team support staff.

The vacant Head of Medical Performance role will now be split between two positions – Head of Medical and Head of Athletic Performance.

Andrew Proctor will step up to become the club’s interim Head of Medical whilst a full recruitment process for that role, welcoming internal and external applications, will get underway. The Medical Team will include two physiotherapists and two existing sports therapists.

Derrick Bonsu (pictured above) has been promoted to Head of Athletic Performance, following the departure of Head of Fitness and Conditioning Patrick Orme. Patrick leaves the club with our thanks after seven years of service and we wish him the very best for his new role at Swansea City.

Bonsu will have responsibility for the delivery of our sports science and strength and conditioning programmes. He will be supported by Andy Kavanagh, who will be joining us from Birmingham City as Head of Sports Science on December 4th, along with an existing strength and conditioning coach and assistant sports scientist.

I've been to several Q&A's in the past, including one with GJ, SL and Colin Sexstone.

I don't remember any tough questions and I doubt there were as many as 200 fans at any of them.

The only ones I remember with a big turn were on open days, particularly the Steve Coppell one, when masses of fans were at AG anyway.

I remember the old ones at what was then St.  George’s School on Russel Town Avenue. Pulis (spit) was very open and honest. Giving us an exclusive on the impending transfer of Jim Brennan to Forest. I think the chairman then was Laycock and he didn’t look happy!
