But do they do kabaddi?! And if not, why not?!
Yeah they have lots of different food offerings on a matchday

I don't really like how it is called the sporting quarter when it's use for sport is limited.
I don't really think it's a misnomer if you consider it will host home games for Bristol City Men, Bristol City Women*, Bristol Bears Men and Bristol Flyers. Plus the Women's Rugby World Cup in 2025.
Obviously there are other things going on but the Sporting Quarter sounds about right if you ask me.
*for as long as they stay in the WSL.

Nigel just needs to prove the board doubters wrong, keep improving and hopefully have a good season, just get the feeling only way he stays is if we get top 6 which is grossly unfair with restrictions in place and amount of reprieves LJ had with a much bigger budget.
Feels like any success we have this season will be in spite of Guernsey Steve, rather than because of his new strategy of "be more Luton". Nige must be fired right up to do as well as humanly possible.

Flippant comment - it’s a very low bar
Serious comment - A better shop and toilets for the fan zone are really good improvements. It will be interesting to see what the existing shop becomes.
Could conceivably extend the Coffee Shop into that space.

That's if it is ever built - this is constantly being delayed and rumours are that YTL will eventually claim it is unviable - anybody else heard this?
I’ve always maintained my position that the arena will never happen. And I’m not changing my opinion now. It’s just not gonna happen.

Basically & this has only just occurred to me, JL is a combination of Kendall Roy and Roman Roy from Succession (& if anyone hasn’t seen it, boy are you missing out), as Logan once said “you’re not serious people”.
Mark Ashton was clearly Bob Mortimer’s Train Guy, now it all makes sense.
I’m off for a lie down.
I've not seen Succession but Train Guy has so always been Mark Ashton it's unnerving.

From the Official Site:
Chairman - Jon Lansdown
Duties - fannying around with Fever Pitch or Kits or anything that means he doesn’t have to do the role of Chairman, ultimately wishing his dad would hurry up and sell-up so he can legitimately bugger off to Bermuda.

Such an extensive and varied list of clients it seems & a huge body of work.

Went to the Pony at Chew today for lunch. Fabulous food & reasonable choice of beer, and importantly low/no alcohol options.
Bit of a change from when we went pre renovation, nice biggish open space at the back , overlooking the garden and onto the fields.
We had Scallops (me) & Steak Tartar (Wife) , then Pork (me) & lemon sole (wife) which was huge , with a couple of sides. We took a desert out to the garden to share on the outside seats. Everything was top notch , nice and relaxed and good service. Check the prices so you don't get a surprise like the guy who left a shitty review that never mentioned the food at all.
My Mrs is already planning to go again with her Sister & husband to be.
Booking should be easy now with extra space @exAtyeoMax , there were a couple of empty seats today.Sounds good. Some ridiculous comments on tripadvisor, which rates it only the 3rd best restaurant in Chew Magna! Seriously who the **** would put this in a review : "The car parking was spacious although the rain spoilt it a bit by producing mud."
I do fancy it but probably need to choose between Pony or the Chef's Table next to the Scotia.

Come on I know there's several reasons to berate SL at the moment but it's inconceivable that LJ will be coming back. I'll bet my house on it.
I hope you have a spare house . . .

I wonder how many games SL and JL watch between them. Neither live in the country. If it is the case that interest is dwindling then we potentially have a board who are looking at things purely on figures and have no idea what the club needs on the pitch. This is purely speculation on my part but I'd be surprised if either of them watch every game on Robins TV or otherwise.
We night have a Board but in name only.

Having watched a fair bit of him in highlights at Wycombe, he looks a shadow of that player to me.
Yup - that hilights reel was a joy to watch. I guess it just shows the gap in quality between L1 and the Champ. Hopefully he'll come good.

Last night was awful. Tanner, Cornick and Mehmeti were dire. Long long season ahead
Thought Mehmeti was poor as you say. Couldn't beat an egg last night quite frankly.

Hibs may have someone "waiting in the wings" to take over as Manager. Whoever it is will not be expected to win his first match; that's this week away to Villa in Europe. Hibs lost the home leg 5-0, so the new guy can try out assorted players and formations in that game.
Ironically - something LJ loves to do!

But SL lost his nerve. And to be fair, had the added issue of covid arrive at just the time he was having to make that call. And has now reverted from the Bournemouth/Reading model to the Des Williams model!
Oooooh is it by Airfix? And do they sell it in Beatties in Town?

Probably a real Donkey question but doesn't Scott's sale raise our FFP limit so we now have a lot more room to manoeuvre?
Yes. But Lansdown has gone from Brewster to Scrooge

Just to focus on the goalkeeper situation again, LJ was allowed to waste money by SL on shite like Gilmartin as a third keeper, now we don’t even have a deputy with any real experience.
Great pundit on RobinsTV though. Six and half of twelve, eh . . .

Just thought I'd bump this & see if anyone has had any races/achievements over the summer?
Had some love runs along the coast in Lanzarote whilst there last month. Lovely & flat and from where stayed there was a decent 5km route you could run into Matagorda & back and the same into Puerto del Carmen and back. Even the ravages of the all-inclusive couldn't stop me getting out at 7am each day. Build up a thirst etc etc
