    3 bloody games ?

So you were complaining that you wanted him kept on in 2020? Most of his experience was in L2 at that point, he had no Championship experience before he came to us

That would be interesting to look at, think a majority would've been shocked and dismayed..bigger issue for them ie Sunderland would've been not deviating from the strategy just a bit IMO.

The vast majority of them were pro mowbray. Your statement is a fabrication

I know this doesn't fit with either of your agendas but I keep tabs on Sunderland as one of my mates is a big fan of theirs, so I know you probably haven't been checking their site like I have. Below is a typical post just before he left:

Quick refresher of this topic - regarding on street parking, how far in advance do you need to arrive? I'm coming down with the boy at the weekend, as luck would have it heading to Cardiff after 😬 to drop him back at uni

I would say if you park a couple of hours before kick off you should be ok, any later and you could spend a while looking for a space.

    A name we all know!

I do agree with you, sacking a popular manager for no discernible reason at the very least can split the fans...and tbh can damage the club.

    Birmingham...Eustace > Rooney >Mowbray

    Millwall...Rowett > Edwards > Harris

These two may or may not pull their initial errors out of the fire. There is no doubt that the changes were foolish and seriously detrimental on the pitch however.

A lot of fans were asking for Mowbray to be sacked when results weren't going well, they only had regrets once Beale was appointed in his place!

On one level I sort of get it, otoh which credible managers wish to work under Tinnion, ever changing whims on the budgetary front (FFP notwithstanding) etc.

I really don't get why so many seem to hate Tinnion, he's always been a great servant to this club, I can only think it's because the Lansdowns rate him

any manager with enough experience would know how to contact Nige and ask what its like down here.  given the fact that Nige isnt a liar,, any such new bloke would have to absolutely love bcfc ie warnock or be skint

Given the amount of time Nige was given and that he was one of the longest serving Championship managers when he left I'm sure we're seen as a fair employer for prospective candidates . It was actually his second longest stint in any of his previous jobs

I would also give as evidence the way the women’s team has been set up to fail this season as another really poor decision, both on a sporting level and commercially. Finally make it back to the WSL, bring in the 4th biggest crowds in the league, but waste it all by not investing more heavily and getting immediately relegated. No wonder no one wants to pay the asking price for Bristol Sport - it’s a depreciating asset!

On the other hand it's a great achievement for a club outside the Prem to even be in the WSL.

The natural successor to Rodney Marsh, on both the pitch and QPR shirt and in the betting shop. Like Marsh, Best and and a scant few others of the era he was a reason for watching football being worth the admission price on his own. A real Entertainer sadly missed. RIP Stan and condolences to all family and friends.

I remember going to Loftus Rd in the early 70s and watching us lose 3-0, it was a masterclass by Marsh who gave Geoff Merrick a torrid time, he was just impossible to stop. One of the few times I've seen us lose but came away having enjoyed the match.

Understood, but its unlikely hed lose the JR isnt it ?

If so I cant imagine cash flow is an issue for him.

It's a lot of money, he won't have that available as loose cash. Most of his money will be alresdy invested in other projects I would have thought.

Could Lansdown proceed with the Sporting Quarter discreet from Longmoor if he really wanted ?

This project isn't the same as the football where the money is written off, it's meant to make a profit.

Suppose a greater baseline of performance would help.

It is kinda relevant though as Ian seems to give for whatever reason, Manning a fair bit more leeway than he did in respect of NP.

It's a podcast, why does he have to be fair? He's just expressing his opinions, if you don't agree you don't have to listen.

The stagnating bit is subjective and perhaps a bit negative slanted by me, but the win ratio, PPG, some underlying numbers, win ratio all the same.

The highs can seem higher under Manning so far, but the lows..well it can be like going back 2 years when we were still very much in firefighting mode. IMO anyway.

My exasperation was not to do with your figures, it's that yet another thread (which was meant to be about a podcast) has evolved into yet another Pearson v Manning yawnfest, I wish people could wake up, smell the coffee and move on!

  13. I certainly wouldn't write him off yet, he obviously needs more time in the U21's plus some coaching before he's ready again. I remember thinking Semenyo wasn't that good when he first came into the team and Scotty had some poor games early on, he obviously did well at City's academy so can't be as rubbish as people on here are making out.
