Looks like a totally unbiased neutral review to me. We were just brilliant that day - you won't find anyone that says otherwise.
While I was looking for stories on City I came across numerous interesting articles on football in general, one article from around 1912 was complaining how in the "modern game" there were too many goalless draws and that it was better in the old days of the 1880s and 1890s when things were less organised and there were more goals!

I think we were in the First Division at the time, this is an East Anglian local paper so they were more interested in Norwich , the East Anglian League seems to be for reserve teams in the area.

I have managed to download this newspaper clip from February 20th 1909 previewing Norwich's big cup tie at Bristol City, this would have been in the run to the final against Man Utd. Norwich were in the South Eastern league at the time so it would have been a big upset to beat Bristol City. The article is headlined "Football" in the column at the top of the page just right of the photos. I note from the league tables that the Gas and Swindle both played in the Southern League at the time:

Got a feeling we may get turned over. Looking at various media coverage it seems Manning is already trying to instil a more possession based approach. I am concerned the players have had little time to adapt and may get caught up and found out playing two systems.
The new QPR boss has a similar philosophy to Manning and wants to dominate possession so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top. City have the advantage of a better squad and QPR struggle to score so hopefully we'll get the points. If we win we'll have won more games at Loftus Road than Rangers this year!

I remember going to the away game on a special train. After leaving Manchester station on the way back the train was ambushed and we got a brick through the window which landed on our table.

NP started with 5-3-2 throughout the club and only switched to the current formation part way through last season so it shouldn't be unfamiliar to our players, once Atkinson's fit we should have enough CBs although another addition would be preferable

Despite not being at his best still provided the pass for our goal on Saturday. It's normal for young players to be inconsistent, Scott, Semenyo and Lloyd Kelly all had lean spells but ultimately bounced back.

I'm willing to give anybody a chance. Sometimes the underwhelming appointments turn out to be the best ones, and the flash appointments turn out to be disasters!

I remember when Benny was appointed, I think our first away game was Bradford and the coach driver got lost, of course Benny had no clue either. We did get there just in time and lost 5-0.

That's a good line up, didn't know James was available

Yes it got here early, near the VIP entrance.

It will be very confusing for the Sheffield Wednesday fans who were asked by their owners to stump up £100 each to help pay a tax bill as he didn't have the money. I expect they'd like to do a swap.

Can't be bothered to go through the interview again, but I'm sure I heard JL say that although the recruitment team make up a list based on positions the manager feels need strengthening, you'd never sign anyone the manager doesn't want, and the manager always has the 'final say' on signings.
The exact words 'final say' repeated so often by LJ, who also said, iirc, that he could, and did, put forward his own names to any list made up by others.
Trying to absolve LJ from any responsibility doesn't work for me.
The board are responsible for the financial implications of transfers, any manager is going to spend money if it's offered

What credence have the Lansdown's and their chum Tins given to fan opinion at the moment?
You either have a strict moral compass or you don't. I'm not criticising Steve on this btw, although there are some posters on here who reasonably would and did criticise the club at the time (albeit they aimed all their criticism at Nige and left Steve the ratifier of the decision out of it for some perverse reason), just pointing out the contradiction of posters who claim they will only support a club if the moral compass of the owner is of a certain standard.
Steve was put in a situation where he could be given stick whichever option he took, I'm sure he'd rather that Nige had picked someone without the baggage Simpson had

Of course he had a choice. If his moral compass was that high he could have told Pearson to **** off if he didn't accept the decision. However he needed Nige at that time to get him out of the shit so he relaxed the old moral compass. Be careful what you wish for and all that bollocks......
That would have gone down well on here!

Ratified by Lansdown. Nige or any other manager cannot just go and sign the players they want to without Steve knowing or approving. Your moral ownership argument is shown to be questionable so you blame Pearson but the Owner gets away scot free. Steve was totally conned here and had no say in the matter....is that correct? He could easily have said "I understand why you want to bring him in Nige but you need to go and find a different experienced player I'm afraid".
If SL had blocked that NP would probably have walked out in week 1 so Steve didn't have much choice

Will listen later, can anyone summarise anything vaguely interesting or controversial that we haven't already heard before?!
The team was expected to be doing better by this stage
Players not prepared to their optimum in training and given too much time off in international breaks
List of candidates being touted in media miles off reality
Interviews being lead by JL and BT
Accepted communication with fans should be better
Social media platforms not as useful as they used to be for communicating with fans
All efforts being made to get to Prem and then to stay there

So he's said the list of candidates being spoken about in the media is nowhere near their list

We could be looking for a foreign coach like QPR did in which case it could be any number of unknowns

Shit management.
It was ok while Richard Gould was here but it's rather fallen apart since, they need a new CEO with media experience then they'd be ok

Certainly not: financially sound, thriving academy, great stadium and training ground, decent squad when fit
