Even players with no previous injury history can become crocks when they are with us!

I trusted Nigel to get us up the table this season with a stab at promotion next year.  We will never know all the facts behind his departure and I’m sure Liam Manning will do a fantastic job over time but personally I feel disengaged from the club at the moment.

    This -

Not feeling the love & can't fail to remember the lies woven into the whole situation.

I'm set to retire before the start of next season, and the the plan was to treat myself to a season ticket.

I feel I'm now in a wait out situation with the whole thing & Intend to keep the powder dry.

As things stand I'm not up for that commitment & will stay in control with five or six at home & same away.

    Right, my views:-

    1. We can look easily top 6 on a day when the opposition look to play and we exploit space.

    2. As mentioned before, we don't have a plan B when teams sit back.

    3. I agree that 'Lee Johnson's tombola' approach was a problem and Manning might over think things. Tinkering with line ups hoping to stumble on a magic solution is not the answer. Keep it simple.

    4. Any plan B needs a slight change in the forwards, for me (this is where I might get battered) that means having the option of a more physical player who can be a threat in a busy box. We need more, better crosses and more shots. At the moment a line up of Conway, Bell and Wells can be excellent on their day but, in my opinion, can be a bit lightweight and struggle without space to work those clever passes in.

    5. I don't think we need to change philosophy or owners or manager, we just need an option or 2 when the game is not going the way we expected. This means Manning does deserve a bit more time to figure out this plan B and bring in someone (or 2) to bring those options off the bench.

    Incoming!🤕

Absolutely agree about needing another option/something different up front for the 'QPR' type games.

It's something we've needed for a very long while now imo.

Pearson produced inconsistent results as well. Can’t remember you talking similarly at those points

In fairness Dave, Pearson was having to do a hell of a lot of heavy lifting on top of the 'usual' job.

In some ways because of this it's difficult to draw comparison.

He will get the summer/pre season so I’m just hoping it pays off but as of now I could see us being in the top 6 and a flying start to the season or just above the relegation zone after 20 games

I feel whomever he brings in player-wise the considerable gaps in tactical awareness/knowledge will remain - with very similar pattern re: results on the pitch.

The likelihood,as always, somewhere in between - not top six not bottom six - lower mid table.

Recruitment will be hugely important & I'm lacking confidence in those responsible.

Get it wrong and Captain Manning  will carry that heavy can & could well be gone before Christmas - not a situation to bring seasonal joy to any of us, not even the OP!

It’s the fact that , once again, just when we dare to dream the club kick us in the nuts again. Bristol City have been doing this since forever with one or two exceptional seasons.
Apart from the magnificent Cott’s  team where we blew everyone away even when we’re successful we blow it . Selling Goater and going up in second in stead of Champions , Play off failures , we even managed to be second in the league and runners up in the FA cup .
It is just depressingly familiar territory.

No one was being brave or taking initiative. I’d struggle to call a MOTM tbh.

    Liam Manning surely MOTM???

The only one carrying no blame.

    Absolutely all on the players.

Fully expecting a typical Bristol City performance tomorrow.

We’ll lose. Even though this is exactly the sort of game we should win.

Indeed Dave- a loss tomorrow would be very "us".

Which is why this match is so interesting - after two great wins for the new regime, will we 'do' the usual & fluff our lines?? -or are we to witness City play with style, panache, putting the R's to the sword and making us all sit up & take notice.

    Will be an interesting afternoon!

You don’t get promoted to and play in the Premier League without quality and he still has plenty of it. He’s still ‘only’ 32 so could have a few years left yet at this level.

Yes,not old if your looking after yourself -

Would be a nuts decision to let him go....

Finally this could be our chance of putting a run together following back to back wins. If, and I know it's a big if but possible, we could win all 3, City could be in the top 6 before we play Ipswich away. Fingers crossed and enjoy the ride.

    COYR

QPR have played into decent form of late-

We will certainly need to be at it from the off.

Correct it wasn't a ticket game, the capacity (37,000) was exceeded and just under 39,000 announced as the gate. A good couple of thousand were also locked outside.

I don't know if the exceeding of the capacity by nearly 2,000 had an effect upon the capacity the next season onwards which was reduced to 32,000.

I remember being in the Open End on that Monday night, where Garland headed the winner against Clemence. I think the first was a diving header near halftime in the East End goal to equalise Johnson's opener for Liverpool.

Was in crackers corner with my crackers dad & his crackers mates.

An unforgettable evening & a treasured memory ❤️

It’s worth mentioning as it proves the point that anyone can - and should do it without fear of prejudice? It might lead the way for others who may fear discrimination of whatever sort for whatever ‘reason’.

When people from other minority groups are qualified enough and good enough they too could get elevated to that level - then it will become the norm to see them regularly and then - there won’t be any need to mention it on here no more than a referee who has ginger hair etc

The OP didn’t say about how good he was as a ref other than an inference that he was good enough to referee in the Prem.

What's wrong with a ginger nut??

    Asking for a friend.
