Just read this on the WWFC FORUM. I thought it was very sensible and well written from their perspective
Having spent half my career in insolvency related work I can tell you the following
a) no-one held a gun to MM's or DAFC's head and forced them to spend more than they could afford, this was a choice with obvious consequences if they failed to get to the promised land of the Premier League
b) Having failed to gain promotion the over spending chickens came home to roost which led to a conscious decision to change the amortisation method, take a loan from MDS, revalue the stadium & then sell it to MM. These were all ways to try to deliberatelu muddy the waters and avoid breaching the Profitability & Sustainability rules,
c) No one forced DCFC to not file their accounts with the EFL on time, it was their choice to file them late in an attempt (successful) to ensure points deductions were applied after the season thus staving off relegation for another season
d) It is likely HMRC could not chase (or sue) for some or all of the owing tax earlier due to the various Covid tax holidays and deferrals on offer over the last 18-20 months
e) HMRC are highly unlikely to be prepared to reduce their demand as they are not prepared to create a very expensive precedent amongst football clubs and others
f) our claim in the administration is perfectly reasonable and given they have not thrown it out; it appears the administrators accept it has some degree of foundation and legitimacy (this may or may not be at the behest of the EFL depends on which paper and which conspiracy theory you read)
g) WWFC/RC and the administrators will no doubt negotiate a settlement which I am guessing will likely be in region of £1.5-3m
h) The self admitted actions of others caused a clearly definable loss to WWFC. It is therefore absolutely right, reasonable and responsible for the directors of WWFC to protect the companies fiduciary interests as the directors of any other business would do.
i) It is rumoured that Ashley is already haggling with Gibson to get him to "reel his neck in" over the 'Boro claim - Ashley & Gibson go back a long way so this may well succeed.
j) NO ONE is suing DCFC at this point in time
P.S. I collaborated with/helped Raymond Snoddy at the FT when he uncovered & unravelled the spiders web of companies Maxwell had and used to defraud pretty much everyone but especially Mirror Group pensioners
k) what a complicated mess!

One thing today though OTIB, these lads need support today not bashing after 5 minutes when a pass goes wrong.
I'd like to think (hope) that OTIB recognises this and won't have the typical melt down, just once....please.

Ouch. We knew it was coming but it's still an eye watering amount.
The best bit is that we'll still get at least half a dozen threads over the next month or so whining that we aren't spending any money.
100% agree.
@ the Mods can we pin this thread to the top of the Forum so we can refer people to it over January?

Season’s greetings fellow-Reds.
The game being off tomorrow is a double-edged sword for meIf you read my OP for the Huddersfield match day thread you might recall I was in New York City with my family for a pre-Christmas holiday. Thankfully, my wife and daughters are safely home, however, I tested positive on Wednesday so I’m doing ten days solitary in a really grim Air B and B in Brooklyn. Tomorrow’s game was something to look forward to watching on Robins TV and a good performance/result (however unlikely) would certainly have lifted my spirits . As for the double-edged sword a poor performance/result would have only made a miserable situation even worse!
Just for a giggle here’s a picture of my Christmas lunch - drink up thee zider! However you are spending this Christmastime enjoy yourself. Thank you fellow OTIBers for making this forum the remarkable place it is.
Stay safe mate. It may not be the day you wanted but it'll be one you remember for a long time.
Anyway, weather is crap here so best to stay in and enjoy that Xmas meal.

Any chance you can change it to Kasey Palmer what with the January transfer window just around the corner?
Never know who might be reading these!

Thanks both. Also, have either of you experienced crash dump messages in game in the last week? Seems to happen at random. (It's only happened since the latest update). It's not a graphics driver issue as that's up to date. Just wondered if it's just me?
Perhaps even my laptops telling me something about my management skills.

Got City relegated in my first season . Either I'm crap or they've nailed on how poor this City team is.
Had to sell a load of the players as they wanted to leave but I've managed to build a £20m transfer kity. 2nd season in and currently 2nd in League 1 (after 6 games) with a smaller squad but looking quite good (and I've still got the £20m for January). Quite enjoyed beating these L1 teams.
Question though - any good suggested formations/tactics I can use to have 2 up front?

Oh no as someone who takes immunosuppressants and is at the highest risk I agree - my daughter had covid last week and thanks to the vaccine it bounced off me. This time last year I’d have not been so lucky I feel. The booster has certainly helped. I guess I’m just thinking out loud what the anti vac/passport crowd will be thinking anyway. Either you have a robust passport system or you don’t. Not something half baked like this.
This is possibly one of the most frustrating things for me. People's ignorance not to consider others. Some may not care about their own health and be happy to take the risk (or think there isn't a risk at all), but it's their ignorance that could impact those around them. Especially with so many packed in to the Gate, some of which will be very vulnerable.
I hope the club gets this right.

A negative LFT is all you need. So basically you can order a pack, scan the QR code and say it’s negative..
(Not suggesting you are) but I struggle to understand why people would look for loop holes in this.
Setting up the NHS app to show your double vaccination takes a matter of minutes and is simple.
If you don't have a phone you can get a paper covid passport (I believe). Simple.
If you can't have the jabs for medical reasons then I'm sure there must be some excemptions in place (rightly).
If you're one of those that are anti vax or just couldn't be bothered to get vaccinated then **** em. No sympathy.
The only thing that is more of a concern or unknown to me is how the club is going to be set up ready to check EVERYONE and whether staff actually will.

Not confident. Really hope we do well but I'm struggling to see anything other than 0-1 or 0-2 Derby.
Come on City, make me regret it please.
Thank you City. A good regret for a Saturday night.

Just said on SSN that Derby haven't scored 2 away goals in 20 League games! A bad City omen if ever there was one.
