  1. Our best defender overall by miles. Can get caught out but imo we’d of lost more games than we have without him. Can see his mistakes have cost us a few goals but he’s done more than his share of preventing them too. The problem for me is I don’t think he should be in the centre. I’d play Atkinson there until Kalas is back and have Naismith on the left side, not so much of a risk then if he does lose it out wide compared to centrally.

What alarm bells, that he’s a paedo?  Really?

Collection of football stickers by an adult isn't in any way questionable is it? No more so than stamp or coin collecting,  having a trainset or being a trainspotter.

None of those things are my bag but there is nothing questionable. No one is getting hurt or abused if a grown man or woman collects football stickers.

Lads calm down ffs, really isn’t that deep. You’re either both over 50 and are taking what I’m saying literally or you’re offended because you collect stickers ? all words on a screen, I hope you both get shiny messi’s ?

  3. I mean come next summer we could be seeing some serious money coming our way. If Conway hits double figures and Semenyo and Scott continue to improve the way they have we could be easily fetching 20m+ for each player. With the amount that are OOC next summer we’re going to need a massive war chest to rebuild. Think it’ll be safe to say only about 3/4 players who are starting now will likely be starting next august ?

  4. Semenyo to start. Give him 60 minutes, natural progression. He’s an absolute beast and even the Blackpool commentators were creaming in their pants about him yesterday and absolutely puzzled he wasn’t starting. I’ll be glad when Thursday is over, although I don’t think he’s going now. We have no time to replace him.

  5. Don’t want to see Scott at RWB as it takes away from his game. The sooner we integrate Wilson at RB the better imo. He can make the step up and he’s looking good, it’s about time Nige started putting players in correct positions. Scott and Massengo looked great as a duo against Luton and imo it was a better footballing performance than Cardiff, harsh on Williams but think these 2 just offer more overall. Absolutely love Semenyo so imo when he’s fit he needs to play, he also performs better away from home which is worth noting. Wells has been great and doesn’t deserve to be dropped but I think we’re all desperate to see that front 3 of AS, TC and AW. So much pace and power with real threats in front of goal. Nice headache for Pearson to have.

  6. I do really want to see Semenyo - Conway - Weimann though. Agree he shouldn’t just walk straight back in but it would be madness to not get him in that first team as quick as we can. Offers too much to simply leave on the bench. Wells and Martin to come on when we need it. Spoilt for choice upfront

Three consecutive relegations, near-extinction and winding up, Newport '82, two seasons in the 4th div, 1:7 at Northampton, playing second fiddle to the Few, 10 consecutive games (not including Glos Cup - what’s that you say? Ask yer Grandfer) and 4 years without a win v the Few, runners up to the bloody Few, hammered by the Few at "their" place, ten years pissing and pfaffing about losing to Gillingham and Walsall to get back to this level, Millwall away when it put hairs on yer chest and bricks through yer coach window, those of us that followed through the 80s are warriors and heroes and yes, we have aged a bit (just read that again: three-consecutive-relegations) but we are still here, hard as ****, City as ****, seen it all, think-this-is-bad-you-ain't-seen-nothing-yet-bbbbbbabber, the diametric opposites of "snowflakes" - we are old, but we're still here. And the club's still here because we were here/there (every ****ing where) back then.

They don't make 'um like us anymore (hey, put yer phone down. I haven’t finished .....)

You’re probably in bed asleep now as it’s gone 9 but well done ya relic. Proper fan

  8. No improvement football wise. Get he’s had a hard job but any manager that would genuinely have us moving forward would of improved us at least a bit in 2 years. Really hate to say it but I’m now Pearson out. He won’t go for a while yet but nothing I’ve seen from him makes me believe we’ll be any better with him in charge in 2/3/4 months time.

I'd put good money on our next owners being American.

We have the infrastructure that they like to inherit. Plus the size of the city, and the fact the club has never made it to the Prem.

SL won't sell to someone who doesn't have the clubs best interests at heart. He still loves the club.

Yep that’s who I reckon it will be as well. I know someone has said you can buy JUST the football club but it would be stupid to just do that. I also think Lansdown, if he were to sell, would want someone to buy the whole lot and continue the Bristol sport project. We still need that arena for the basketball and other events built next to the stadium along with the hotel. I think the basketball would appeal massively to an American takeover along with the rugby, we’re pretty much a franchise. So much potential here, I think SL has taken it as far as he can. He’s done amazingly well at everything apart from that final step. Whoever would end up buying us has had pretty much all the ground work done.

Can  someone explain to me what the benefit is of others buying the club?

We already spend the absolute maximum of what the rules allow so what do the supporters win from new money coming in?

Rather stick with the 'local' guy I think

Well others aren’t spending the maximum and are having a lot more success than us. New owner with different ideas and philosophy might just be what we need to finally get to the prem, everything else is ready and waiting. Then again it could go completely pear shaped. Extremely risky move.

  11. Not sure if it’s been mentioned on here but I’ve missed this completely. Can remember him saying about new investors a while  ago but first time I’ve heard of him saying he’d actually sell us…

There will be a few on here hoping he does. How would you all feel if he did? The only people I’d imagine who could afford us, as it’s not as simple as just buying us, it’ll have to be the whole Bristol sport umbrella I’d imagine, would have to be someone extremely loaded. So definitely foreign investors. Man City of the West Country incoming

  12. It was a weird one for Naismith. He both played amazing and terrible ? at fault for the first, they should have definitely had a penalty when he just got beat for pace and fell on simms and the 3rd goal gets done in the air but also made some crucial blocks, great tackles and lovely passes. He’s not big/good enough to be playing alongside Vyner and Atkinson. Desperately need Kalas back and for Wilson to start. Sykes is good going forward but can tell he’s a winger when needing to defend. Left plenty of gaps behind him, not ideal when it’s Vyner who’s behind you…
