Certainly Manning has delivered what fans (on OTIB) have veen calling for.

He was criticised for too much keepball, and we haven't seen that recently.

He was criticised for the back 3, and we now start games with a back 4 (he'd played a back 4 early in his tenure too mind)

He was criticised for the lack of chances created and goals scored and we have scored 7 in the last 4 league games.

He was criticised for PPG and form table position and now we have two wins to add to the tally.

I guess the one thing we haven't done is started creating more chances for Conway, but I think that's the final ball issue to some extent.

So what you are saying is that Manning has no backbone and gives in to the critics?

Totally agree Major.  You can add Roberts and Tanner to that list of players who have been criticised but we're outstanding last night.

Roberts has had so few minutes that it is nearly impossible to criticise him( although this is OTIB so a way could be found)

Tanner has had mixed reviews and I don’t feel like he was under as much pressure as the players I named.
    Good points though Marmite.

  3. For Sam Bell, Harold Cornick and Anis Mehmeti.

Three guys who have huge question marks over their efficiency at the club and they all advanced their causes last night.
I am delighted for them and hope that they can kick on now.
Well done to the coaching staff who have stood by them and managed them so well.

I know, it's a horrible place to get to from here, I did some work down there once and had to go every day for a week, God it's 80 miles that feel like 800.

That depends where you’re coming from doesn’t it?

I once stopped and asked a local in Norfolk for directions ( we didn’t have Sat Nav in those days) and he said ‘ you don’t wanna start from here ‘ .

  5. I have lots of sympathy for people , like Sven, who are in a position where there is no cure or hope of one.
The other, more philosophical view, is that few of us know when our time is up and if we did what would we do differently ? More hours at the office perhaps ? Spend more time at the football ?

With the dubious advantage of being given a  time frame at least he can get his life in order, do the things he hasn’t yet done . Say what needs to be said to those around him.

Sven has , AFAIK, had a rich life and no one is immortal, except perhaps Cliff Richard, so I won’t shed too many tears for the man. I wish him a peaceful end of life .

....and if Manning is a success for us, is it not due to Tinnion and Lansdown???

In fact it’s how they treated us as imbeciles and disrespected a thoroughly decent group of people, Pearson, Fleming etc in their classless  manner.

It was at least very cack handed which posed questions of competence or dishonest which questions the integrity of the guardians of our club.
Manning to succeed ? We hope so.

The guys at the top have a long way to go to win back the trust of a good many of us mind.
