Don’t want turn the Matchday thread into yet another debate about LM and his future but I have seen this point many times about the players not being his and all will be well when he can bring his own players in.
Well that may be true but until that time arrives the coach must get the best out of the players he’s got.
Poor performances can’t be excused by saying it’s not his players and they can’t play the style he wants.
He must play to the style that suits the players he has.
The best interests of the club have to take priority over the principles, beliefs or behaviours of the coach.
Be flexible, employ styles and tactics that utilise the abilities of the players and put some points on the board which will give you some leeway with the fans.
I agree ,apart from Klopp and Gardiola, which coach has a hundred percent of his players in the squad these days ?
Which coach has the luxury of all the time he wants with his players ?
I don’t think Manning is the right fit for the club we continue to ,as the French say , ‘ fart above our arseholes’ .- 1

Why is Lewis Capaldi a "gob shite"? Seems one of the most genuine people in the business.
Anyway back on subject...
Not expecting anything tonight, don't know why I'm bothering to go but it's just my thing, I don't get many opportunities so I go to any game I reasonably can.
I just want to see something different to Saturday. Something to suggest that Manning has taken stock of what's not working and at least attempted to change it - and I want to see a reaction from the players. I don't actualy blame any of them for what's happening yet, I haven't seen any downing of tools as such, but I want to see them running through walls tonight.
He may be genuine and probably is but he has got a big gob and I was only really joking although I don’t like his guttural singing style or the fact that someone in my family has built an ‘ altar’ in his honour.
I wish you and all the other sufferers a safe journey and a good match to enjoy. It would be very ‘City ‘ to win tonight. -

There must be something in the water…
Tape ? Bless you , you old love . It went directly onto YouTube where by popular request it was taken down with almost immediate effect.

There are very few people I despise more than insipid minstrel Ed Sheeran.
Add that Scottish gobshite Lewis Capaldi to the list.
I have a family member who is a big fan and my son thought it a good idea for us to sing one of his songs for her on her birthday !
Strangely she is still a big fan but has never asked us to ‘ perform ‘ for her since. -

Adverts where there is a face on the product to make you like it .
Reminds me of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy where an animal is promoting various bits of his body that could be tasty. Sick .
Stick a smiley face on a turd and people will buy it .

This from the BBC , comments on Forest’s loss to Liverpool.
‘Time and time again, year after year, all we talk about teams down there battling relegation that end up going down because of an inability to score goals . ‘
What you going to do Captain Manning ?
Don’t panic or are we doomed ? -

I think you need to see a win achieved through change. A win through bloody minded stubbornness would suggest a win through fortune.
But if we see something different tried tomorrow, and that something delivers a positive outcome (and I'd actually class a draw away to Ipswich as positive) then that would be encouraging.
I am reminded of the time in late 2022 when Pearson was persisting with a back 3. A significant number of fans were at that time fed up with him and wanted him out. IIRC we even had talk of a protest and even, most shocking of all, an OTIB poll where a majority wanted him sacked. However he eventually relented, changed to a back 4, and we went on a good run in January and February 2023.
I do believe that this can be turned around, but it will require the flexibility of approach that has been missing.
Edit. I see @Silvio Dante has posted something similar above.
Basically Manning needs to listen to us if he wants to succeed.

Then we pile on to Manning for not having got his players up for these more winnable games . Job’s a good’un.

Dickie probably feels it’s Deja vu after QPR’s collapse last season and now ours. He certainly deserves better as POTY for me.
What I wonder is ‘ what do the R’s fans do for knob jokes since Dickie left ? ‘ .

Broadly speaking, I feel similar.
Skimming through the Manning out posts/tweets, couldn’t help but think how misguided the anger was. He clearly hasn’t made a terrific start, and it’s fine to critique his teams performance and air frustrations with his mannerisms but how, in the space of four months, has it gone from BT/JL don’t know what they’re doing, to LM doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Now, both may be true, though I’d suggest there is more evidence that LM can coach a successful football team than BT/JL lead a successful football club, but to call for his head is to gloss over the issue in the extreme.
Let’s say he’s sacked this week, let’s say the new appointment hits the ground running. Is everything ok again? It’s a bizarre situation, but I almost don’t want a scenario where our results improve as a result of sacking LM. Everyone wants their club to be successful, of course, but he’s a product of a weak, inward, mentality, and was handed an absolute hospital pass with the ludicrous expectations set on his arrival. Clearly, that was constructed bollocks by a hierarchy which didn’t have the balls to tell the truth, and the time for pining over Pearson is gone, but it should not be forgotten, and the anger has to be primarily aimed higher than LM.
For what it’s worth, though my conviction on this is waning, I think we’ll be fine this season (this is caveated somewhat by if he still has the dressing room). I also think, presuming we are, we’ll throw money at in the summer and see improvement next season. Again, as per sacking LM, spending to cover mistakes is bittersweet, and we’ve been down that road before.
Ultimately, Manning needs time. And, ultimately, I think it’s in everyone’s interests to give it to him.
Manning was bought in to push us on from where we were , not turn us into a team of Zombies who are dropping quicker than Irene’s knickers at a family do.
Where’s the evidence that the guy is going to turn us into the attacking front foot team that was indicated?
He was meant to bring an attacking flair to add to our watertight defence but the first thing he did was fiddle with the bit that was working .

If we keep it all together we would have an amazing set up for success in League 1.
Biggest fish in the pond.
We may even score a goal.
Is this Uncle Steve’s meisterplan ? Pay the players and staff less, win more than we lose, cup runs based on confidence of winning.Who doesn’t like thrashing the likes of Gillingham, Cheltenham etc ?

Comparing Conway to Haaland I love it.

this week he claimed the team were coached to defend a corner of the type Cardiff scored from.
And he blamed Pat Mountain.
The idiots at the helm got rid of precisely the type of people who could make this club a success .
We are in the brown stuff and the buck that has loitered around their offices for years and has now firmly stopped. There is no hiding place.
The huge problem is that they either admit they aren’t up to their jobs or they resign , two excruciatingly difficult things to do .
Ego’s are going to kill this club.- 4
