There has been a common theme in all our games, lots of chances, not many converted and very fragile at the back, we're where we are for a reason and are on course for league 1.

The thing that really bugs me and a lot of people is that there is no way that after last season we should be anywhere near this situation, an utter shambles!!!

How are we "on course" for league 1 when there are 4 teams below us?

Of course it would have been nice to have pressed on a bit better this season but there are 23 other teams who all want to do better.

Its just such a shame that our fans are happy with shit and underachievement, its one of the biggest reasons that we'll always be a lower league club, I've followed this club passionately for 25 years but i'm seriously losing the love!!

I really don't understand your view. Mine is that despite results the overall entertainment has been fantastic this season and in most games City have played a big part in that with some great football.

Greater realism and sense of perspective required surely.

God knows why, he doesn't deserve it based on this seasons shite!!

    Cotterill's record:

Year One - took us from bottom to comfortable safety.

Year Two - won the league with a record (for us) points total.

Year Three so far - not in the relegation zone which most would have taken before the season started.

That's fact and IMO the football this season is far from shite.

Your comment is so far from reality.

Yes you are entitled to an opinion, of course you are but you certainly did not make it clear it was an opinion.

you wrote it as a statrment of fact and i am entitled to adopt the default position on behalf of the player, and that is to tell you that your views are not accurate, deflamatory to the player and without any foundation, and to indeed challenge you to provide the evidence to back up your claim.

if you would like to share evidence privately I would be happy to reinforce my statement above and to share with you the basis for my defence.

now lets get back to the match shall we and facts that really matter.

Not sure why so precious about it after all there is almost universal agreement JET was unfit with a lethargic style and only looked interested when the ball was at his feet, he's hardly likely to be any different off the pitch, just part of his make up. I think also his style meant everything slowed up when the ball came to him whereas the manger likes the ball being zipped around the pitch.

As I said great talent but a maverick in the Bowles Worthington mould if you are old enough to remember them.

What a load of slanderous crap, i can categorically tell you that you statement is completely untrue !!

what this thread needs right now is another negative autopsy on JET.

move on for pity sake if nothing else

No need for that there is a discussion going on, I will make a comment when I feel like it, if that's alright with you. Was just passing on an opinion from what has been seen.

If its accurate it definitely won't be slanderous and even if not accurate if I emphasise its an opinion based on observation it still wont be slanderous, but anyway maybe you can say why its categorically untrue .

Because I know from watching JET numerous times, that he is capable of far more than Freeman or Wilbraham have produced in their many minutes on the pitch this season. He would undoubtedly improve our team at the moment.

Great talent but poor attitude in training which gave wrong signals to other players particularly younger ones and that's why he was moved on.

  7. Good answer I like that.

But we aren't Real Madrid and don't mean to be funny but you aren't Klopp, Suarez, Moureinho, or Shearer. I'm assuming.

No more insight than the rest of us so why not quit pretending. What you do with your laurels has no bearing on anything. Get behind the manager and the players.

I do though accept certain aspects of the club may be different

  8. Well i'm happy you think our recruitment this summer was so great....Kodijia withstanding, I would say you are probably the only that thinks that.

I think what you perceive as 'veiled digs' is actually called constructive criticism...but I have come to realise you are Pedant, and also always on the look out to argue with fellow supporters, rather than discuss. If you find my posts so dull and boring, then why not just ignore? Others enjoy conversations...if you don't like it, may I suggest you just bugger orf and just ignore...Simples ;-)

    1. I didn't say our recruitment was great. I said Kodijia is near top of goal scorers. It countered your statement about being baffled about the recruitment policy.

    2. When "constructive criticism" is only ever "criticism" it isn't constructive. Your posts are 99% are negative towards SC and our club. You did say about SC you would "get rid". Let's see end of season.

    3. On the contrary I don't find your posts dull and boring. The Pedant in me says I never said that. I find your posts stimulating but useless. As in, if only we had a better striker we'd win more games. No shit Sherlock.

    4. You could ignore me too, "Simples".

Not trying to have a row Christ I haven't got a clue who you are, but your mindset is negative negative negative.

We had one of our best seasons I have seen in almost 50 years and you just want to criticize. Sit back relax and enjoy the ride.

  9. Like the above poster said....what point are you trying to make? Of course Kodijia is a great signing, but it has nothing to do with the gist of this post.

With respect....why are so many people, so pedantic and nit pick every bloomin word, and not read into the sentiment or gist of a post?

What point am I trying to make. Two actually.

    1. That your points are not very illuminating.

    2. Most of your posts come across as veiled digs at Cotterill and/or the club until challenged.

    Example, you have gone from:

"The mind boggles as to the Clubs recruitment policy this season"

    to :

    "Kodijia is a great signing".

  10. The mind boggles as to the Clubs recruitment policy this season...Zamora and others like him were available.

For whatever reasons, the Club haven't brought in that experience needed.

We went for 8 million pound strikers, when a couple of older heads on short contracts in midfield and up front really could have helped our lads.

Other teams have done it....so why not us?

Some of our loans and our failure to recruit wisely this summer does make me question SC.

SC recruited the current joint 5th highest scorer in the division.

Three times more goals than Zamora in fact.

  11. Being a team struggling near the bottom to a team more capable of getting results.

Anyone can see we need more experience and quality in our team. Someone like Zamora to come on or compete with Wilbs, and likewise in midfield.

Two older heads...in those positions would certainly enhance our young team and help them when the going gets tough.

Anyone can see this except Cotterill, presumably. Why hasn't he just gone and picked a Bobby Zamora off of the Bobby Zamora tree?

  12.

I don't have much to add to the statement on the website.

However I completely understand the frustration and anger expressed in this thread, in the many emails I've received and on twitter. I will make sure that all your views, and those of the many other fans who have contacted me, are passed on. We need to make sure this never happens again.

Could it be changed back again?

  13. Statement from Bristol City Supporters Club and Trust

BCSCT understands the reasoning behind the Notts County game being brought forward 24hrs. However the fixture list was published in June 2013. Why has this change been made at 8 days notice? Many supporters from both clubs have made work and travel commitments for the Saturday.

We are also disappointed that the club statement does not contain an apology for the inconvenience caused to supporters.

In all seriousness I think that statement doesn't go nearly far enough, it should have included a request for the resignation of the turnip(s) responsible for this fiasco.

Skimming through this thread, apart from the many who have built holiday and travel plans around the game, including myself and family, I have seen at least two groups who are flying in on the Friday for the Saturday game (the "Club" know this regularly happens) and therefore impossible to change travel plans even if they wanted to, and a suggestion that a group of 6/7 year old kids won't now be able to be flag bearers at the re-arranged fixture.

    Disgusting incompetence and arrogance.

  14. Anyway I'm glad the opportunity to be a troll on the Internet brought some sunshine to your life,

Yes, and thanks for the opportunity. :)

I saw the comment "I'm a Winner" a positive statement of defiance and determination, you saw it as a negative that SC is "really not very bright at all".

Its all about perceptions isn't it.

  15. NickJ single handedly making what should be a fairly strong, coherent argument on SC's good form look childish and pathetic. Quite a talent.

Well, I could talk about out the astute tactical changes made to this evenings line-up and formation, the enhanced desire on the part of the players, the clever signings of players in the January transfer window, and the 94% improvement of SC's record over his predecessor, however I am equally capable of lowering myself to this childish and pathetic thread with its vocabulary of insults. I support Bristol City with a passion which clearly is swimming against the tide on here.

    He's an idiot. Ignore him.

I had the great pleasure of travelling to the pub on a bus full of grieving Gasheads and meeting a fellow acolyte of the True Faith. Morons like NickJ can't spoil that, however hard they try. Remember the sacred rite of the Ignore button, brethren and sistren.

Luckily for me I'm not an idiot and what's more I bet you don't ignore me.

It's not much of a contest if you are only capable of insults.

  16. I'm enjoying the upturn in our form recently as much as anyone and very happy to see SC succeed - I would avoid dragging this thread up every time we win however, you've made your point numerous times recently (fortunately for us!!)

When we lose again no doubt the losers will be back to have their dig at OUR manager. Hopefully though some will have seen how wrong they were to undermine at a time when everyone, players, staff and fans, should be pulling together.

Here's another one with a lot to learn:

Cringed as soon as I hear him say that. Anyone who calls themselves a "winner" makes me cringe. On par with saying "I never make mistakes".

He's becoming more and more like David Brent by the week

Hi Pete hope you enjoyed the tickets on Saturday!

  17. One of the many reasons I was horrified by the appointment of Cotterill is that he's got a long habit of saying moronic things in the press that piss the fans off and cause disruption. He's really not very bright at all.

I hope we scrape by this season, but I wouldn't bet on it sadly.

Sometimes things come back to bite you in the ass.
