  1. FFS don't send in the cavalry. Think of the horses.
  2. I'm beginning to feel like a mourner who finds himself mistakenly attending the wrong funeral. Well said Bert. I don't agree with your conclusions because they are far too sensible. I do however, note that your club's recent efforts to protect a local war memorial by wrapping it in canvas are progressing well. Presumably that's the type of good cause to which you refer?
  3. Our penultimate home game of the 1981/2 season, Graham - Wednesday 12th May 1982 v Millwall. Just 2898, including me, turned up to see us win 4-1 thanks to a brace each from Chandler and Newman.
  4. 6. The captain of the England Boob Cricket team is a Gashead
  5. ... or is he really 90 years old and simply stating fact?
  6. Sorry. I thought it said "Dribbled".
  7. ... and that, children is a perfect example of a "sweeping statement". "Everyone admires" it, my arse; 'kin deluded.
  8. That's a very bold statement to make Phil and I don't know how anyone could be so certain. Once the loan window is closed, there's little or no scope for any team to change things about; if the team has a deficiency, it has to be capable of being addressed with the existing personnel. One bad, long term injury to a key player or a spate of sendings off could find any team looking for suitable replacements and if they're not already in the squad then it will be a big problem. I don't know how big and well equipped your squad is but judging solely by recent signings, I'd imagine that there's not a great deal to call upon? That could be a big limitation to your manager's ability to "put things right" - however much you believe in him.
  9. "Cross your heart, Piggy? OK then, that's good enough for me".
  10. Never seen them in the same room at the same time.
  11. You've got the earlier edition of the press release. Here's the final version.
  12. Behind the usual wit in your postings, Bert this particular piece appears to have been written not so much with speculation but rather, information. I've thought for some time that there seem to be real issues facing their new owner which he seems powerless to overcome. He appears to be out of his depth. Your view?
  13. Ironically, they are now suffering a SHORTAGE of white plastic seats.
