Get yourself over to SlagChat they are proper upset. Not just about the result, but about EVERYTHING!

Like the Top 6 budget they announced... without knowing what the budget of the other clubs was. Basically is was a smoke and mirrors way of saying 'anyone good we will be out bid on' - so get used to it.

We need to have a happy 18th for 'The gap' you've made a brilliant suggestion. Buying the gap their first legal pint would be fantastic. I wonder if Thatchers or Butcombe would do a commemorative brew for us!

To be fair, there are lots of other threads on the same subject, but that was one of the longest.

It's round about page 170 of Gaschat if you want other similar threads!

Bored on a Friday afternoon? Then take a journey down memory lane, when the UWE was a formality and Wally was a billionaire. http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/5974/confirmed-al-qadi-family-takeover?page=1

Agree to a point, but there is only value in Ashton Gate if someone wants to buy it as it is and to use it as it currently stands. Would imagine the vast majority of the value is in the land it sits on.

Aren't universities compliant with the FOI act? If so, you would imagine their Fan groups would be trying to get data from there.

That's alright, Wally is a billionaire!

Haven't heard that one! Where does it originate from?

The apathy of Rovers fans about this and everything else sums them up. If we were fed decades of under investment, broken promises and third world conditions there would rightly be all sorts of protests. They as a supporter base seem to have no method of getting answers or challenging things. The lack of coherent support groups on their small patch of the city only goes to show how the 'most passionate fans in the world' are so use to being fed shit that they just accept it. And long may that continue.

Can't help but think as well that promotion back to League 1 was a bad thing for them. Wally could probably have coped with League 2 salaries, but ambitious League 1 players are probably a lot more expensive to keep.

If 7.5 million of the secured 10 million credit facility has already been spent, then you could argue that they are one good season away from avoiding oblivion, given they are losing 1.5 million a season anyway. They need a good cup run as a minimum.

Nah, he got 3 numbers in on the National Lottery last Saturday.

Sounds very much like the Russian who bought his son the TVR car company (after buying him a number of other businesses that he ruined, with a similar pattern). Maybe Paul Scally at Gillingham is a wiser man than I thought.

You'll have to explain that last paragraph to me, even trying to read between the lines doesn't tell me enough.

I was being generous.

So, long story short... this is a property deal gone bad. As predicted on here a few months after they took over.
