  1. So, long story short... this is a property deal gone bad. As predicted on here a few months after they took over.
  2. A rumour (that I've just made up), is that Rovers are going to start charging fans to use the toilets. Rovers fans are OUTRAGED. Wally has been quoted as saying 'it's about time fans understood how difficult it is having to go in to football without spending a penny'.
  3. Whilst we know this information to be wrong, it wouldn't matter if it were correct. Wally isn't wanting/able or allowed to spend any money.
  4. Reading were down to 10 men and still won.
  5. Not gonna happen. Dale Vince (the Swampy of the football world) was overheard to say, 'Gas? I don't think so. I'm Mr Sustainability, no fracking way'. At least I think it was fracking.
  6. Bless em. They are now talking positively about redeveloping the Mem and focusing entirely on the capacity of the ground. They seem to have forgotten that match day revenue is only a small part of the revenue stream a modern stadium should provide. Without conferencing, banqueting and event space they will never generate sufficient to make it pay. If finance was an issue for UWE then it will be an even bigger challenge raising funds for a redeveloped Mem... especially when Dibley Quarts have already bagsied 10million of the value of the asset.
  7. If they are short of cash, why don't they get some from the treasurer of their supporters club? I understand she knows how to lay her hands on money.
  8. Maybe the money had been ring fenced....
  9. Does this change in position now mean that students and academics at UWE will now have to boycott Rovers 'to hurt them financially' - in the same way that the blue few have reduced Sainsbury's to their knees by moving half a dozen eggs from their basics range to a different shelf?
  10. Good news! They have scrapped Plan B and are going to go for Plan DD Wally has hit upon a solution.
  11. What exactly did UWE say on the radio? I'm in work so wasn't able to listen.
  12. Suppose this is actually good news as the number locked out will now increase.
  13. Can they afford to lose ticket revenue for a few years whilst the Mem is redeveloped? It hit City hard when we were operating with a reduced capacity.
  14. Cheltenham could probably do with the income from a ground share, or Yeovil.
  15. So the charge on the Mem means Wally can have his dad's money back and there will now be no route to borrow against the stadium to fund a new build.
  16. Just to point out that Gaschat are up to 14 pages on 'the food at Forest Green'
  17. Isn't today 'excuse day' for why they aren't going to be completing on another stadium project? I'm guessing they will go with 'clauses and conditions' rather than 'cash and lack of'.
  18. It's almost as if they are scared of a debate....
  19. Scale and volume... If you had more fans and a single forum you too might be able to generate enough content to have something similar. Unfortunately there are very few of you and literacy levels notwithstanding you seem to struggle present your views on your own forums in a coherent way. The blanket ban on visiting supporters from other clubs does you no favours.
  20. It is a good read, and I wonder if any clubs profile the race of Supporters. As for Rovers, there is a thread on their forum discussing how they can help make games more diverse, and my immediate thought was 'that's positive' only for the 3rd comment to be 'We aren't racist'. Now I'm sure the overwhelming majority of their supporters aren't racist but was it not the Blue Few who suffered national shame a few years ago for racially abusing an opposing Player? Maybe if they got their own house in order they would see more diversity on the terracing, don't imagine national headlines saying that players have been abused helped. Before one of the blue few kick off, I'm sure we have our own spanners as well.
  21. And since then, you now have Wally and his clean windows (and carpets and curtains)
