I never know why they haven’t gone to Botswana again. Several players from that season credited that trip.
They've already painted the school.
Although, by now, it might need a fresh lick of paint.

This is a tough one. I think that James is the best footballer at the club. I also think he has been responsible for some awful displays by the team.
You can see that he is a professional's professional. Hardly ever lets the team down. Knows when to cover players; is a calming influence.
However, he also plays at a snail's pace. Slow, slow, slow; back to Vyner. Slow, back to Vyner. There's no ambition.
This was almost certainly due to Pearson's direction. Since Manning, James has put in some outstanding displays not least against XXXX where he was magnificent.
However, he has reverted to slow, slow, slow. Is this what Manning is asking for, or is it just year's of learning under Pearson? I suspect the latter.
So, could James find more of his magnificent performances under Manning? Almost certainly. He is a great player. But, he is not young, does not have the energy of a Knight, and is probably expensive wage wise.
For this reason I voted No, but with a heavy heart.

Interesting that 4 of the 10 on the list have played for us
Not really. To get on the list, you have to be just good enough, but no better.
That kind of sums up our club.

Mentioned elsewhere on here - apparently BT confirmed it on Robins TV.
I also noticed that a few seconds before kick off Williams went over James and shook him by the hand - I’m guessing of course, but it felt to me that he was recognising that it may be their last match together and he was thanking James (no mention of a contract offer for James of course).
You were expecting Williams to go over to James, shake hands, and offer him a contract? Not sure that's how it works...

Huddersfield and Birmingham still have to play each other.
Basically to be mathematically safe tomorrow we need to win. A draw would be pretty much guaranteed safety as long as Weds lose at home to Norwich as Huddersfield and Birmingham would have to draw their game and win all their remaining games whilst turning around a huge goal difference.
In reality we’re already safe. Without Reading’s points deduction last season QPR would’ve gone down on 49 points and I can’t see that total being needed this season.
If we win tomorrow, it will be nothing short of a miracle.

What if we didn’t sack Nigel Pearson?
What if Pearson had been a good manager?

Allied with better game management. Consistency and improvement of performance is better than sticking plasters.

Imagine getting caught sat next to Lee Johnson and Liam Manning on a long haul flight.
I'd take that every time. The leg room would be decent for a start.

Hello people! Are we all sleep-walking whilst using the forum?
There's one manager, and one manager only, who could make it work.
Decent record. Good contacts. And available in the summer...

Is it impossible for the admins to change the title of this thread?
It seems disrespectful whatever your thoughts on his performance.

Haha, or even less than that!
Come on then Chivs, back up your response? Wink or no wink!
Have you ever taken the very first game of a manager into consideration when making your view on them?

Yep, you can’t tar a player after one appearance.
But you can a manager?

Shouldn’t we be doing this in our every-day life ? It could start a new trend like fingerless-mittens
Is that a trend? I feel so off-message...

From yesterday;
The left-back was at the High Performance Centre on Sunday to be looked over by interim head of medical Andrew Proctor and while there doesn’t seem to be any undue concern over the potential seriousness of the problem, it does make him a doubt for tomorrow night.
“Little knock on the back of his knee, it doesn’t seem to be anything major,” Manning added. “He was in yesterday and saw Procs, who wasn’t overly concerned, but we’ll follow up again today.”
Wish I'd seen this yesterday. Chatting to the guy that sits behind us who overheard a conversation ( how's that for tenuous & conspiratorial ). Someone saying Prings injury was season ending.
Not sure how these rumours start TBH.People put them on a forum?

I think he is the next Diedhiou.
Not necessarily as a player, but more because none of our fanbase will be able to spell or pronounce his name.
If he doesn't call himself "me babber" by the time he leaves us, he's no Maynard.

If the name "Frank Rothwell" doesn't conjure up the sight of an old man, in a flat cap, smoking 60 a day, whilst leaning against a doorway, in a row of terraced houses, somewhere grim up North, and watching the little scamps in the street kick about a football that's never seen grass, then I don't know what does.
Good luck to the man. A very worthy cause.

What are the differing ideas? I could understand what Mr Johnson was attempting. Liam Manning has been using a variant that I don't understand.
Could you explain why from the keeper, from dead balls and from open play City play a ball to a isolated wide receivers head, dramatically reducing the possibility of retaining possession?
I think you are mistaken to believe the tactic is to retain the ball.
Max passes to Pring (soon also McCrorie) with the intention of Pring clobbering the opposition fullback.
Working quite well so far....

Dunno how to do multi quote, but why do so many posters use the term Premiership, when referring to the Premier League?
I bet you're the sort of person who still refers to "assistant referees" because they told you to say that.

Images like this (and I include our "Ernie" robin in this too, sorry) are just the funniest things to me. They never look intimidating or anything apart from hilarious. They look like something I'd be trying to make using clipart at about 13 years old.
Just awful.
You say this but I reckon that Robin, centre, front row, looks well hard.

That was my first thought.
My second is why have they signed him in a half-built underground carpark?
