It might have been a bit OTT BUT Swiss Tony was giving it the big one after signing 19 players and last night Ipswich got absolutely battered, not even a shot on target. I suppose that would annoy a few (the ones who don't call us window lickers and have their heads literally stuck up their arses, that is). The lucky thing for us was that when Ashton got rumbled and knew he was finished here he was able to work behind the scenes to secure his exit strategy. Let's not kid ourselves it's still going to take years to clear up the mess that Swiss and Johnson left behind them, completely and utterly condoned by Legacy Boy, but at least it's being slowly sorted. Win/Win for everyone. Swiss will likely get rumbled very quickly now assuming Ipswich fans aren't as thick as they ******* look (unless he breaks tradition and appoints a very good Manager which will dilute his power) but where will he piss off to in the next couple of years? Ipswich are stuck with Swiss Tony for a while, no doubt about it, and given the reaction of many of their fans at being told what he would do to them there couldn't be more of a match made in heaven.

I agree that through incompetence alone the kid deserved a red card but for Alan Smith to say he 100% meant that is totally out of order.

Oh yeah, we need to look after the ball better if we are ahead in the second half of games when teams need to come at us. It’s a double whammy in that teams can’t score without the ball and in their desperation to get it back as the game wears on they will have to press more and leave gaps for us to break on them. For a team that relies on counter attacking it’s vital we improve that.

You don’t give them enough credit tbh. How many clubs do you know could take 48k to Wembley in a total crowd of 47,029?

It’s not only the comfort aspect but also the confidence that comes with it. We’ve started step 1, win at home, now we have to try and move on to step 2 which is win at home comfortably.

Did you see the stat though that 80% of Derby’s possession was in their OWN HALF of the pitch. Simply translated around 70% of the game overall in terms of possession was played in the Derby half. Yesterday our tactic of allowing Derby to have the ball resulted in Bentley having an easy afternoon. Yes, the possession stats do need to improve but don’t be fooled into thinking we somehow got battered yesterday. Using your own eyes tells you that the possession stats meant very little in a game we could have wrapped up in the first 45 minutes and that was also confirmed by Wayner!!

That is a great graph that sums up Derby’s “threat” perfectly yet people act as though 65% possession means they battered us. Stats are useless when interpreted by idiots!!

…….and we let them have it. Few of the tactical geniuses on here seem to have grasped that. That’s why the first half was 5 shots to NIL in our favour despite 35% possession whatever that means these days.

It's too polarised on here and I often see people being so judgmental as a sign they haven't really played the game themselves because people who have played know how easy it is to put in the odd stinking performance.

Scott will end up in his preferred position soon enough. It is fantastic that not only has an 18 year old kid led the way in showing others how you do a "job for the team" when picked to play out of position there is no doubt that the experience will make him an even better player in his favourite position. It's a win/win for everyone. Sometimes you see a kid who literally "doesn't give a flying ****" about the situation he finds himself in and has both the desire and the mental strength to PUSH HIMSELF on. Rather than moan that he's been picked to play out of position he's got on with it and showed people what he can do. See my comments on Massengo in terms of PRODUCING and then look where Scott is in a couple of years time. Does Alex Scott need a Manager to motivate him? Of course he doesn't - his motivation is simply to get to where he's going.........

Well, I think we could do with one or two ***** as you call them in our side. One thing I notice about us is that we are far too ******* nice (hence Wells still had his nose on his face after failing to square that ball to Weimann last week). That's why I like Scott and Benarous because they literally do not give a shit about opposition players and being nice to all and sundry. They seem to be there to progress, certainly at the moment anyway, rather than join the £7,500 per week "Comfy Club". Have a listen to Scott's interview yesterday, he knows we were hanging on second half and he knows he slipped below standards last Sunday, no bollocks from him, an 18 year old kid, and yet many of the older heads would have stood there and just chatted absolute "party line" bullshit if they were interviewed after that. We know that because we've heard it hundreds of times before.

I do think if people want to talk about squad splits on here when we are in the middle of a losing run then they really need to back it up. That isn't an "opinion" is it? It's either fact or bollocks. Everybody who was there yesterday saw the effort that went in and those there at the end saw the reaction and interaction from players after the game. Some people would suggest that is stirring the shit pot rather than holding a genuine opinion on something? Is spreading malicious rumours in the name of "opinion" your understanding of the ethos of OTIB?

You've got to laugh at the stick he is getting on here. If he was our 19 year old you would all be raving about him. When he goes over he's a diving, cheating little bastard but when Benarous does the same you love him for his shithousery. As for diving - the Pring booking was 100% correct and the O'Dowda incident was 100% a foul, we got away with that one.
