  1. It’s a stupid situation. We all know SL is the man in charge. I don’t buy this step back away from the board role, everything still goes through him. It massively dilutes JLs position as chairman and plenty of people have pointed out we only see him when there’s a kit launch. It’s almost like even the badge redesign (which I still detest btw) was a ‘project for Jon’. In my opinion I don’t think we need to hear from anyone every time there’s a poor run of form, the vote of confidence does nobody any favours, and is worthless.
  2. Our social media content has gone from trying new stuff like the gifs, to following whatever has been trending on Twitter in the last week (like the HNM hair thing). I think a lot of it is mis-judged timing wise with no idea of the current feeling of the fans when things are tense. FWIW I mute the club account and check the team sheet at 2pm and that’s about it nowadays
  3. Assuming the outcome of ‘the project’ is to get City into the Premier League, just how much work needs to be done, money needs to be spent, to get us even challenging for the play offs. Looking at the current side we probably have the very bare bones of a team that could compete at the top end of the table in the next few years. Atkinson, HNM, Kalas, maybe Bentley/Semenyo, already look like players who could fit into a team in that position. The rest, nope, thanks, move into squad players as we recruit or move on. Pring, Tanner, Scott are players in the first team who could develop into those kind of players, we don’t know yet. There seem to be a few other promising young uns but those are the ones currently in the team. Therefore we need minimum 7 new players to get us competing. And that’s making a massive assumption that we are able to keep those players above and Kalas/Bentley keep at current levels as they get older so it’s probably more. We would probably need to sell someone for big bucks to even think about affording that sort of rebuild. I know Pearson has talked about this as a 3 year project, but I personally think that’s pie in the sky given the squad building required and the cost of this. Settle in for a few more years of mediocrity unless these academy lads turn out to be world beaters, because I don’t have faith in our recruitment. Feeling very pessimistic about City at the moment. I want it to work with NP but unless he is backed with significant funds or a top class recruitment team, of which we appear to have neither, then I fear the pressure for results will become too much and he won’t get the time/funds to see if he can see the project through.
  4. Feel a bit sorry for the guy. Been absolutely flogged this season with no respite as we don’t have another target man. Shame we didn’t go in for Smith who seems to be shaving another decent season

    Downsy

If they get rid of him who is going to remind us ‘this is Ashton Gate’ three times a game?
  6. Sorry to hear that. Very surprised to see the same clash so soon after it was highlighted in the Bournemouth game
  7. Out of interest, was this bad again today for those of you affected? Was a little disappointed to see the green kit

Without knowing too much about him admittedly, is wide right his natural position? If not seems strange playing out out of position, in front of an also relatively experienced Tanner. I don’t think today was the right game for him to come in to. However to throw a big positive out there I was delighted to see him do what several senior pros have failed to do this season from a winning position and manage the game. Booted the ball away a couple of times, and twice looked to run the ball into the corner (I maintain we would have won a couple of games already if we were better at this).
  9. If Barnsley are a bottom 3 team we are in a lot of trouble
  10. Barnsley Blackburn Stoke levels the record Derby if we want it all to ourselves
  11. He’s made this comment a few times now, but I don’t see any players left out
  12. Not tonight. The manner of the defeat tonight was shocking, exposed some individual flaws and really really sucked. But. Saturday for me was far worse. No semblance of fight in the team, near on nothing created and nobody played well. Tonight, Scott, Wells, Tanner, James all played really well, we created chances, we had Wells running in behind, Scott should have had a penalty, Wells hit the post, and (possibly controversially considering the last 2 mins) we defended well for most of the game. With a few better decisions from us and the ref we would have put that game to bed. We will beat Barnsley.
  13. Pearson isn’t the problem imo it’s the mess of a squad he’s inherited and lack of budget to address it
  14. I think given Kings lack of game time over the last few years he has already got more minutes than I was expecting, especially with the amount of competition we have in the middle. I think he got the nod at the start of the season but lost his place due to the performances of HNM and latterly Williams. I think in a fully fit squad (ha) he cameos off the bench to see out games or maybe plays when we need an experienced head but wouldn’t be a regular starter.

I wouldn’t be bothered if he never played for City again. I know that sounds harsh but for the two times he actually puts in a performance per season he’s keeping JD CP or a youngster out of the team.
  16. Yea Bournemouth are a superior team but the only way you beat a team like that is by working hard, implementing tactics to nullify them and showing some fight/passion. All of that was lacking today and that was the thing that p1ssed a lot of people off. It isn’t cheap watching City, and the minimum expectation should be effort from those on the pitch. We were extremely lucky to not be on the end of an absolute pasting today.
  17. We aren’t going to wear our third shirt at home. That’s not how it works
  18. That’s pretty awful all round. In fact all of our kits this season are poor imo
  19. I remember getting beat 4-1 away at Bradford under Tinnion I think. Awful place. Miles away. Terrible performance and the coach broke down on the way home. Millwall in the GJ play off era. Coach got lost in London, turned up at half time and we lost 1-0. Honourable mention to that JPT defeat away at Rovers. Only made minimally more bearable by seeing some gobby **** giving it large in front of the City fans get launched about 10 feet into the air by a police horse. Thinking about it, he may have grown up and become the famous horse puncher.
  20. I’d like to see Britton too to take a few hits and put himself about. If Wells is out for Saturday then I think one of the young lads will make the bench. Probably Janneh or Bell though

    Bakinson

I actually thought first half he was good. Some good passing. But second half was the complete opposite
  22. Martin looks like he needs a rest already. Knackered from about 30 mins
  23. I really enjoy watching Baker play, he’s a proper old school solid defender, but ffs it’s frustrating seeing him go off allll the time
  24. So if it’s a red button game does that mean it isn’t available on Robins TV? Or as it’s not the main game it is? Thanks
