TBF since May 2016 NP has managed 223 games, won 70, drawn 57 and lost 96 with no promotions.

His previous 7 years coaching track record is not the strength compared to others as some often quote.

But in that time he's managed Watford in the Prem where they were at the bottom and well into a messy season, in Belgium (which I have no idea about), and us on a shoestring, losing his best players.
My point was more comparative vs Eustace Beale Jones and Rowett. I don't understand why any of those would get monetary backing to build a squad but NP isnt. What have they achieved bar Jones getting Luton out of the lower leagues?

If Nige were to go there are 4 obvious candidates.

    Beale

    Eustace

    Jones

    Rowett

My preference would be Beale, but you can bet your bottom dollar we would end with Jones

    No, nope, absolutely not, nah.

None of these have the track record NP. I'd be royally p1ssed if one of these got backed to the hilt with the Scott money but SL won't give it to Pearson who has done all the dirty work and made the club millions by playing the youth.

Ironically thought the issue was in midfield. Knight and TGH both fairly poor today. Namely on the ball, not moving it quick enough.

We need a Scott replacement in Jan - just some kind of creative nous.

Bell and Weimann need to be dropped.

Just too many lacking end product. If Cornicks chance goes across that line the perceptions changed.

We watched a different game then because Knight was superb. Constantly pressing even in the last few minutes, moved the ball well, always asking for it.
Andi was off the pace today. Offered Sykes nothing in front of him to the point where Sykes was visibly annoyed in the second half.

All I know is Pearson's contract won't be renewed from what I've heard. The Lansdowns will face a massive backlash from the fans and the best way to hit them is by not renewing ST and stop buying the merch (see what AC Milan ultras did).

One step ahead of you on the merch...

Oh, I suppose it would've been nice to notify people though

Where's the commitment from him that he'd be answering questions on here?

Frankly he gets tagged in all sorts of irrelevant posts on here, from people who seem to want to blame him for stuff from behind their keyboard. So I don't blame him. He's a top bloke and very approachable

  6. We should be able to give any team in our division a game. That's why we are in the same division. There's progress from where we were 2/3 years ago when we probably would have rolled over and lost 3-0 but ultimately - 0 points.
    Proud is a bit much.

  7. A successful business, especially one in the entertainment business should really sweat the small stuff. Because it's these seemingly insignificant things in isolation that can make or break someone's experience on the day in isolation, or put someone off coming to AG again completely. Using some of the examples given in this thread, imagine one person has come down to the game yesterday and been stuck outside the south stand in a massive queue, gone in and got an inedible pie, sat in the Dolman trying to hear the pre match team announcements but can't make it out due to the tannoy, gone to got a pint at half time but can't because the card machines have gone down, gone back to their seat and through a tinny tannoy heard Downsy announce the wrong subs.
That in anybody's book is a bad experience, and probably about £35 a pop. We should be working hard to give the best possible match day experience and good progress has been made with things like the fans village and sports bar but some of these problems like the tannoy, like incorrect subs have been going on for years now.

It really feels like the whole club is settled in a mid table mentality now all over the place.

  8. I genuinely dont mind if it's a template kit from a big supplier. Just some quality training wear, hoodies etc from someone reputable. Red shirt, white trim, every kits been so over engineered I just want something simple.
If JL wants to tit about with the badge just use the stupid Robin without the outer circle. I thought that's why it was designed in that way.

How many more times are people going to try to claim it’s “brand snobbery” without acknowledging the quality of the items being produced?

Look at the quality, fit and finish of the Oneill items and compare it to Hummel, Adidas or Nike. It’s miles off. It’s chalk and cheese. At one point Oneill weren’t even producing the kits consistently.

If Oneill were producing good quality items, people would not mind about the brand. They aren’t. Everything we’ve seen so far has been poor.

And that’s before we even consider the absolute lack of any consistent use of a colour scheme. Look at the range here. It’s shambolic mismanagement of the brand.

I don't remember any significant moaning when Bristol Sport were making our own kits. Surely if the fan base was a bunch of brand snobs we would have heard it all then too.
FWIW personally I think the quality is worse than the BS stuff and at TFG levels

    *Poor stock generally.
*Xmas jumpers with Reindeer when we have a Robin on the crest. Then not available around Christmas.
    *No Xmas Decorations.
    *Kit constantly late.
    *Poor variety .
    *High prices
    *not enough impulse buy options
All things that seem obvious to me, but beyond the current set up.

    The Easter egg debacle

    Comic Sans training wear

Hashtags that weren't actually allowed on the shirt

That god awful 125th anniversary shirt

    The rewards scheme/great junk giveaway

OK that's a little bit wider than the shop but it's in the same commercial ballpark

The person i was replying to said he thought Max had better positioning. Thats why i brought up the Hull thing.

The main reason i think Bentley was better - was that he seemed to make more "match winning" saves.

Thats not to say Max cant be better than Bentley in the future. He's just not there yet IMO.

Bentley cost us far more points than he won us games (that's not to say he didn't have good games, he had some belters). This rhetoric that Bentley was and is a better keeper just isn't supported by stats, league position, or current amount of first team football being played.
