Build the stands and they will come...unless
* The Rugby is on
* It is raining
* It is too hot
* Babestation is on
* Lidl are doing 10% 0ff
* 3pm Saturday KO, interferes with family life
* Not 3pm Saturday, we want the traditional time
Or could it be they haven't got much of a support base
Don’t forget a bike race! They can’t get to the football if the cycling is on…

So 8.5k home fans for one of their biggest matches of the season.
Doesn’t strike me as the sort of crowd a club who need a 15k stadium would get…

These two posts sum up their mindset and the reason the gap is in the 20's. They can easily claim they would "do better" with the same resources we have had.
BUT because they have had crap crowds for 2-3 generations they don't have that kind of money. If their fans actually started turning up at home and selling out their little ground they might progress.
In addition to that, they haven't seemed to realise another huge problem.
The vast majority of kids who follow a Bristol based football club now follow City, and Rovers are doing very little to attract younger fans.
If you were a dad without affinity to either side and wanted to take your ten year old to watch football this weekend it would be 2 pounds more to go to City in the family stand than to sit in Rovers' family stand.
That's 2 pound more for a better quality product in better surroundings with better refreshments and an all round better experience.
If you then decided to get a season ticket for next season and were unsure about which way to go it would cost £150 pounds more to get one in the Rovers family stand next season, and that's without a free shirt for your child.
If they don't get their act together and realise their attendances are only going to drop over the next decade they'll slowly die, a new stadium won't help with that.

I like that they seem to have stopped saying about their great support , now they are keen on a bigger stand for away fans . Will soon be getting big crowd if they can offer half the ground to away fans.
Perhaps they could use the new stand for home fans and the rest of the ground for away fans.
They might even get 10k every now and then...

Blimey, found this lurking on page 3.
Surely a sell out today at el estadio de memoria
Chance to see Max Bird in action, so If anybody’s got a thread I’d be grateful.
You would think they would, just had a little look though and still hundreds of tickets left.
For a club who are apparently desperate to move to a bigger stadium, you'd think they'd sell out every now and then...

Hope he does celebrate if he scores on Saturday, I've never understood the non-celebration thing.
Good player for us, the energy he and Reid brought in the first half of 17/18 was monumental in us having the run we did.
He never shied away, which was something I liked about him, always willing to give it a go. Sounded like a really positive person in the dressing room, unlike certain other #10's who followed and preceded him...

Fascinating.
Our u18s get into the semi finals of the FA Youth Cup for the first time in decades and yet people still complain.
Learning how to win while not being at your best is quite the skill, if they're learning that now that can only be a good thing

Be a football manager and change tactics? Motivate the players?
Of course it's down to Manning.
What tactical change would you have made to stop Burns?
It's all well and good criticising, but then back it up with something constructive.

No such thing as a free shot against a team in your division, especially one that’s not come down from the Prem. 3 defeats on the bounce prior - a point or 3 are needed.
When you're in the bottom half and you travel to 2nd, who have won 5 in a row, it's a free shot imo.
The issue is, the last 3 matches, where we should have got points, we didn't get any. That's the concerning thing, not being edged out by a very in form Ipswich side

Which Manning failed to react to yet again.
Who would you have brought on to react to it out of interest?

Free shot tonight in many ways, gutting to lose it in this way after going toe to toe for so long.
This is the difference between a side full of confidence and a side lacking in any

Should be two. Stop showing these respect, get after them
To be honest, Ive been impressed by how little respect we've shown. The fact we've gone after them is the reason we're ahead

Can we play top 10 sides every week please?

City women will be hosting Spurs on the 24th of March in the Super League, Rovers meanwhile are getting all excited about hosting Liskeard Athletic, with the chance of being promoted to the same level as the likes of Keynsham and Larkhall.
Mind the gap

That isn't why they were promoted though, I sense it is important to say here.
But it came as a part of the package.
Personally I'd rather play in red than in the championship than have some crackpot owner come in, change our kit colour and get us promoted for a couple of seasons. Then again, maybe it would be more exciting than whatever was going on this afternoon!

Two premiership promotions under Tan. Must be horrendous
Interesting to think, would people be happy with promotion if it meant wearing a blue kit and changing our badge colour and identity?
Not sure I would to be honest

176 appearances with 10 goals and 16 assists as a winger whose primary job was to score goals and set them up is absolutely dreadful.
No idea how he was with us for 6 years.
Yeh but he scored a good goal v Norwich once, which makes up for everything else right?

Wasn’t there talk of 4 million quid for Pack?
Most people thought it was an unbelievable offer that was much too good to turn down added to the diminishing returns on the player’s effectiveness.I seem to remember 750k being quoted at the time on here, not sure where either fee came from
(Looks like I'm 2 hours behind the @Davefevsfont of knowledge!)

Don’t agree one bit about Pack - his legs hadn’t gone, he was fine. It was a weird decision to sell him when we did and was a mistake
Fair enough, would disagree.
Didn't feel at the time that he was good enough to be a regular at this level anymore, never mind now, and I think his time at Cardiff highlighted that. But very good servant for us and superb player at his peak. The price tag was disappointing at the time but losing him wasn't a huge loss for me

Keeping him for at least 6 months longer (maybe the season) to allow a smoother transition of Nagy and Massengo might’ve?
Perhaps, but then it’s all one big ‘if’.
Main point is, the likes of Pack and Palmer wouldn’t improve us right now imo
