Just seen the highlights. What brilliant finishes from Conway. A very welcome 3 points from what sounds like a poor game. Awful decisions by the officials to not give penalties when our players were wrestled to the ground.

I thought Naismith struggled defensively yesterday and seemed to get out-muscled quite often (although I agree with other posters that there were a lot of fouls the ref didn’t give). But then again the defending by the whole team for their goals was weak.

Not sure how we threw that away from 2-0 up against a poor Stoke side. We played some good football, but our defending for their goals was terrible and we were wasteful in attack. I was surprised when NP replaced the entire front three because we’d been causing them problems. Cornick played well but we didn’t look clinical at all after the changes.

We are much the better side. Disappointing that soft defending led to their goal (good strike, though). Hopefully we’ll stay on the front foot and keep causing them problems.

I’d say 1988-89 season. I remember the criss-cross design of the programme. Later that season we signed Super Bob Taylor I’ve got no memory of that game, though. Presumably it was the Robbie Savage playing for them? And the Trevor Morgan who once played for us?

It’s very slow to begin with but it picks up.

Welcome @BigKiwi Once you get your bearings in Bristol I thoroughly recommend walking to the ground from the city centre. It’s a great walk about 30 mins) through the harbourside (a picturesque part of Bristol) with excellent pubs en route.

Tough game tomorrow. It’ll be a real test. I’ve only been there to watch us once - a 1-0 defeat (I think) in the cup about 20 years ago. I remember hardly anything about the game. Hopefully it’ll be more memorable (and for the right reasons) for the City fans travelling there tomorrow.

I agree we need to move away from retro kits (although having said that I would quite like something along the lines of the 1986 Wembley one). I’d like white/black as an away kit and purple/lime for a third kit.

My initial reaction during the game was that Cornick should have scored. But watching the footage I think he did well to react quickly to chest the ball down and get the shot on target. The keeper spread himself well and made a decent save.
