Sounds like two different games in that era. In one of them we were losing heavily at home to Chesterfield and out of nowhere the fans suddenly started singing and got behind the players - we still lost but it felt like a turning point. In another game we beat Huddersfield with a last minute goal to end a long winless streak. Probably only about 10,000 were in the ground but the atmosphere was electric.
Yes it’s a bit galling…..but it also provides hope that a well-drilled team, working as a unit, can get there. If we are in the top half of the table next season it gives us a chance of sneaking into the play offs.
It’s horrible for fans when their team plays like that. Ironically I remember City putting in a similar performance when Leicester thrashed us at AG - possibly in McInness’ last game as manager?
I liked watching him play, especially the way he was so quick with his feet to give himself space to put crosses in. But I agree he wasn’t good defensively.
