  1. Money For Nothing - Dire Straits
  2. Not sure why I quoted Slippin cider in my post, completely unintentional ??
  3. I reckon Southampton will struggle to stay up. Leicester’s sacking of Rodgers is a massive roll of the dice that could backfire. And I’d like to see Everton finish in the bottom three. It would be good to play them in the league.
  4. A View To A Kill - Duran Duran
  5. The pitch was in a worse state than I’ve seen at AG in a long time…….but all things considered (the amount of rain recently and rugby the night before) it held up well.
  6. I thought Cornick played well yesterday. He put himself about and was involved - exactly what’s needed from subs.
  7. Definitely a game we should have one, so very frustrating. We were sloppy in the attacking third and at 1-0 always looked susceptible to their strength in the air. But with a makeshift line-up we were never going to be at our best I didn’t see what was wrong with Wells’ goal, but I haven’t seen the highlights yet.
  8. Love In An Elevator - Aerosmith
  9. I thought Gordon Owen was going to score that penalty at Wembley. I was underwhelmed by the appointment of Cotts - I believed at the time his teams played a dour brand of football, without really having anything to base this on. That title winning tea m he built was a joy to watch. More recently, when England were 1-0 up against Italy in the Euros final I thought we were going to win.
  10. Port Vale can be added to that list too. Always bitterly cold.
  11. Great goal from Bobby. Good to see one of our academy products on the world stage.
  12. Loving Cup - The Rolling Stones
  13. I loved those years too. There was a real sense of togetherness at the club.
  14. Before I Fall To Pieces - Razorlight
  15. I’m with you there. Couldn’t stand him then, can’t stand him now.
  16. Yep, it was a pen at the open end after one of their cheating thugs (Ian Alexander?) handballed it on the line. Great night, I remember “**** off Irene, the gas are going down” echoing around the ground.
  17. Stop Your Sobbing - The Pretenders
  18. It Tears Me Up - Percy Sledge
  19. Cornick’s City career has started slowly, but it’s early days and time will tell. The difficulty so far is that it’s been hard to see what type of player he is and what his strengths are, whereas with a player like Mehmeti it’s more obvious. One thing that did impress me about him was when he was instrumental in keeping the ball at the other end of the pitch when we were seeing a game out at AG (can’t remember which game, though)
  20. That pic of the Man Utd players surrounding the ref is sickening. It just goes to show how ingrained this sort of thing is that it has been going on for so long. FWIW, my son plays grassroots football and has been since he was 7 (he’s 15 now). This season the attitude of many players towards the refs is getting visibly worse. Also players diving or standing waving their arms rather than just getting on with the game if they think they’ve been fouled. It might be partially the players’ age but it’s replicating what they see in the professional game. Very sad to see.
  21. I voted for Vyner and Scott. After a few difficult seasons of being in and out of the side and a number of tough games Vyner has really matured as a player this season and has become an accomplished defender. Scott as we all know is an exceptional talent and has been a joy to watch.
  22. I was excited about AV, but I have to say I couldn’t be happier that we stayed at Ashton Gate. I think the ground looks fantastic, it’s our spiritual home and its in a great location.
  23. Punch And Judy Man - Deacon Blue
